Tyranny of Desires, Regret and Ego - Basavanna’s Vachanas - Dasein Talks

Basavanna’s teachings dealt deeply about human vulnerability and mindset. In the world where technological advancements have hijacked mental peace of humanity, his ideas propagated through his Vachanas stands as a light at the end of the tunnel.
His ideas resonated with multiple levels of society irrespective of caste and gender because of their immediate nature and truth finding efforts. Under his tutelage many philosophers who are called as Vachanakaras started writing philosophy in simple yet profound language.
The fundamental difference between Vedic philosophy and Vachanas is in Vachana movement people from all walks of life and profession started contributing to the immense wisdom - be it Sunkada Bankanna, Madiwala Machayya and bokkasada chikkanna, they were from regular professions which were close to anyone to relate and apply to their life.
