Kerstboodschap 2022

Er is hoop! Prettige kerstdagen en een verrassend goed 2022 gewenst!
In English:
They say hope dies last. This year of transition to anything and everything was one like any other. With a lot of murder and mayhem, a lot of deaths and literal seas of misery. So then sometimes it seems like there's nothing but doom and gloom. A stretch of hell, on the earth we live on. But let me hand you something: there's hope. I myself am not of the religious kind; indeed, I am a convinced atheist.
But I took part in the Nijmegen Four-Day Marches for 12 years on end and there was also always this guy we used to call "Hope". He's probably still there every year. Flat cap, beard and a fibreglass stick with a big white flag attached. With the "There is Hope" emblem on it. You know, that Christian one with the rainbow.
And although I'm an atheist, I always loved and still love that flag. Because to me it represents the essence of life which the three bands in which I sing and write lyrics, Yoghurt, Zat and Kookaburra, want to convey to you: there is hope.
Because throughout history, that one puny humanity on that one little blue dot in that immeasurable universe is becoming less and less barbaric, nasty and murderous.
Better and better we know how to deal with our shortcomings and we grow, as humanity, not only in size but also in awareness. Whether that will be enough to save us? We don't know that either. But there is hope.
And so we advise you this: believe in your hope. Keep being childlike, stubborn and stomping when it comes to that hope. Refuse to believe that things may end badly. Don't give evil an inch. Grasp peace. Fill the world with the free energy that lives inside you. Give them hell! Oh. And Merry Christmas and a very happy 2023.

Dank je chielie. Hoop laat ons doorleven net zoals de struisvogels. Gelukkig maar want anders zou je gelijk de stekker eruit steken..en kwaad bestrijden maakt gelukkig dus alleen daarom al uit louter zelfzuchtige redenen moeten we blij blijven. Hidde

Zeker! Maar ik denk niet dat hoop hebben gelijkstaat aan je kop in het zand steken. Integendeel. Op basis van hoop met wijdopen ogen vechten voor beters maakt idd gelukkiger dan de kop in het zand steken.
