I would stay away from projectors for gaming, the bigger “screen” isn’t worth the extra input lag, you are better off grabbing a nice little gaming monitor, or one of the new oleds. Just my opinion on the matter.

Projectors are not that good with HDR anyway so 1080p is fine. From what l have seen of HDR content on Netflix, Colours look so Washed out. How is the Fan noise on this projector?
Keystone correction is via the remote. Personally I use a tripod stand and use the perfect height so I don't need to use keystone correction at all, because that degrades image quality.
Oh cmon! The Epson HomeCinema series are way brighter and color accurate and come in around 650 usd. Not to mention the Optoma gt1080 hdr. 800 bucks and a 120 inch screen from only 4 ft away with 8ms input lag AND at 120hz! This is a neat niche device because of the streaming and bluetooth embedded but there are an avalanche of better devices for under 1000 usd. Cmon Greg...cmon.
K Talbert This is a 3LCD Laser projector will not have bulbs to change, won't get Rainbow effects like with DLP. projectors. Projectors are Not that good at HDR so 1080p be fine. 4K HDR projectors are more Noisy because Fan has to work Harder to Cool it Down as HDR needs more Brightness Output
@@glytch83 yeah would of been handy if it was faux 4k and more Brightness, as this Epson EF12 has only 500 Lumens Brightness in Eco mode. This Epson F12 has few thing in its favour Fan noise is 22db in Eco mode, so it's bit quieter. Plus will save you £100's on not having to replace bulbs

It does have HDR it’s literally on the box the reason your not getting HDR content is because you have to change your HDMI cable out first and turn it on in the settings.
Hi everyone-Im hoping someone can give me some insight. I bought this projector and It looked AMAZING on my wall. I have high ceilings and maybe 200 inches wide. So I had a lot of room, however, it was just temporary until I got my screen projector, which is about 87w x 48h I noticed the picture isn't as crisp and the letters seem to look a bit grainy. Is there something I can do to fix it? or is it because it's on a smaller screen? I saw some comments about an HD or HDR cable? Hope someone can clear things up for me
@@landocycle I am more typical of the average projector buyer. The best selling projectors on Amazon are 720 p projectors that cost under $100. At least mine is native 1080 p and didn't break my bank account. But yeah it's ok if you have the money and you want the bells and whistles.

The image quality is okay, but not "wow" and the contrast is mediocre. Along with blown highlights, no shadow detail and poor brightness. The HDR is inconsequential. There's also noticeable lag when gaming. For the asking price this thing should of been brighter (even a few hundred lumens more), better conectivity such as usb 2.0, ethernet and perhaps even native 4K resolution. Even though I paid like 899.99 which was a "sale" price, this thing is still overpriced. They couldn't even get Netflix certified for it. I may pick it up again if the price drops to like 600, because I do like the build/look, laser tech and portability of it. But for now I'll give it a miss. Xiaomi have bought out a global version of their mi projector pro 2 - more lumens, better connectivity, dual 10 watt speaker AND Netflix certification, that can be had for around 650.
I have the same problem about no Netflix for years. You can side load a launcher to add netflix but it will play thru the launcher. An so annoyed that I plugged my google tv via HDMI to get around. I use the Anker capsule projector size of a coke can.

When you’re accustomed to a bright high definition regular sized epson projector, this projector is lacking big time. For the price, this picture should be so much brighter. The sound is beautiful, but the low lumens makes this purchase not worth the cost. It’s a $350 type picture. The main thing I love about this projector is that resembles furniture and is small in size, but I would give this projector to my kids. Very dull picture.

The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
Just bought this and the HDMI ports worked for one day and then they no longer seem to be seen. Shut off restarted, reset, changed cables and nothing. Any suggestions that I haven't tried? I managed to get one good day of it working great. Then all that happened was the cord fell out of my apple that was connected to the HDMI? :'(
ElleGabri That's strange sounds like need to send it back for a replacement, usually if you pull out the mains plug on devices, when they are in operation it resets them, then they are okay after that. Is the picture from this projector bright enough watching dark videos like in horror movies? Is this projectors fan noisy?
@@Music.Movies.67 Yeah, it never was okay after that. The picture is great in a dark room. You couldn’t watch much in a room that had a lights on. Other than that it’s a cool little projector. Fan isn’t noisy at all! Like close to nothing, you’d have to put your ear up close to hear anything.

@@bandora no you can't do that, the Netflix app needs to be installed in order to cast Netflix to the device. You can cast your phone screen but that's not the same thing. You could side load a Netflix APK but it won't be HD.

NOPE, if you TRULY want the best 1080p image, then take a step back a few years, to when projectors did the job flawlessly! My Mitsubishi HC 4000 will never be surpassed by today's rubbish, and neither will other dlp brands made in the same era...PERIOD!!

You have to buy a mounting plate. I bought it from B&H Photo Video for $10, and then using a standard camera tripod. The projector is only 2.7 lbs so make sure it can hold that weight. I am using a cheap Targus TG-5060TR stand I bought from goodwill for $5, and it works perfectly.
Its crazy that you are reviewing this. I know you're tech guy, its just ice been looking into projectors. I don't wanna spend this much but I have been into Vankyo brand. Not the greatest our there but for movie night, it does the job. I have the leisure 510 now and just ordered the v630w. Anyway. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll update to a more expensive projector later
It's great for money. I have since upgraded to the ex7240 epson. Lost features from the vankyo but its brighter. We still have the v630, in the kids living area.
@@Shane101A I think it's brighter, especially with lights on. We don't use a TV in the living room. The vankyo is great in the evenings or at night but with the led lights in the kitchen or dining room on. The picture suffers.

This projector does have hdr10. Hlg as well. It’s limited to certain video settings though. It’s on their website

I was referring to the Epson Home Cinema 1060. Been using one as a monitor for 2 years. Brilliant and cost effective.

@@chrisqzone If you have 1200, I recommend you the Epson EX10000. Is the best shot. It's laser with 4500 lumens and high contrast.

Does anyone know what projector is good for daylight too?
It works fairly well with curtains open but looks best with blackout curtains closed. Has amazing color and very clear picture. Easy to setup.

Not the greatest our there but for movie night, it does the job. I have the leisure 510 now and just ordered the v630w. Anyway. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll update to a more expensive projector later

How have you been liking your Vankyo v630w. I’ve loved my 620 and I’ve been looking to upgrade to a higher quality projector.
It's great for money. I have since upgraded to the ex7240 epson. Lost features from the vankyo but its brighter. We still have the v630, in the kids living area.
@@Aleejandro_Gomez The epson ex 7240 isn’t even full 1080p though. Does it look better than the vankyo simply because it’s just higher quality?
@@Shane101A I think it's brighter, especially with lights on. We don't use a TV in the living room. The vankyo is great in the evenings or at night but with the led lights in the kitchen or dining room on. The picture suffers.
I have the Epson EF11 and have been trying to connect my LG 2.1 soundbar and subwoofer to it via usb A since my firestick is in the HDMI port. Anyone have any suggestions?
Get an HDMI splitter
But there are 2 hdmi ports and one of them supports ARC which is what you need.
You can't USB A doesn't transmit audio
