Check out Roanoke VA. You've got the Farmers Market, O Winston Link Museum, Transportation Museum and the Taubman Art Museum. Sorry I can't help you with the restaurants because I only eat kosher food. I'm sure you will find some place good in Roanoke. Personally, I like the O Winston Link Museum because of the photos of everyday life in the 1950s small towns along the Norfolk & Western railroad.
Thank you for showing us Christmas in my hometown, Alexandria. I haven't lived there in years but you've made me want to go back next year to see the Christmas Parade I remember from when I was a child. It's a beautiful old city. The other Virginia cities I love to visit are Williamsburg, Charlottesville and Lexington.
Hey Lauren! Really enjoyed your Alexandria Vlog. I think you should visit Natural Bridge, Virginia. It has a Safari park there that’s really fun. You can really unleash your inner child. Also, it’s a very scenic drive so you will see lots of mountains. 💕✨
Yeah, the boat parade was pretty cool. The pandas and jellyfish boat was so random and quirky 😄 Would love to visit Alexandria someday. Didn't know it has such a Scottish vibe. TFS❣
Wow !!! I never knew Alexandria had such character. I have watched a lot of decorating videos so have become quite the critic and notice various elements they have in common with other types of videos. For example, there are surveys and tours, with slides, or slides with music, slides with narration, etc. Then there are decorating videos with music, narration, etc. Each type has varying degrees and types of energy. But dialogue has ENERGY !!! That is what makes your videos so special. Just imagine if you had a slide show with music, for example. I wouldn't know what to do. I would be wondering, where is Lauren and Lucas? Oh, they have gone to the next place ! .
So we went to Danville recently and I think it’s underrated as a weekend getaway location! Must do’s are the architectural history tour of millionaire’s row (Joyce is the local tour guide), Crema & Vine for lunch and a walk along the Riverwalk Trail. We stayed at the Vantage Arts Flats which are suites that have a mid-century design.
Oh my gosh the cuteness in this video! Of course you two in your Christmas Sweaters was totes adorbs, but you oohing and ahhing at the doggies was the best, those puppers stole the show. The Air BNB bed was so unique, as was the Christmas Vibe bedding on that canopy bed. I've never seen a Christmas light boat parade before, how cool. Those people are so creative! Did you end up making Lucas's Sea Biscuit, or yours, into an ornament? Are you going to attempt to make more at home, or a different homemade ornament in your Vlogmas this year? I remember making cinnamon ornaments and popcorn garland as a kid. Why you'd give a 4 year old a real needle and thread is beyond me, but I was actually pretty good at making the garland for being that young.
@@annalisahamlett1334 the biscuits got smashed in the backpack haha - so they sort of died 😜. I’ve done popcorn garland & orange garland a few times when we were abroad for our tree since we didn’t have ornaments & it was so fun! Never did it as a kid though. Those dogs omg 🥹 I just couldn’t handle haha
I hope you're able to make it down the peninsula this holiday season! Especially if you're free this Sunday, Williamsburg is having second sunday in downtown and our Christmas market is open both of which are a great time. That also puts you only 20 min from Newport News which has my absolute favorite drive through lights display! Its $20 per car on weekends but only $12 per car if you're able to get a ticket in advance!
I’m just halfway through this and already googling flights to Edinburgh!! 🏴 cool to learn a similar experience is available in nova. Ps Theres a delta direct flight JFK to EDI 9:55p-9:55a I took last time, it still routes daily, & I think it’s the move
It's Vlogmas Day 5 . Alexandria loves a parade and we do too. I know we are partial to dogs. We have one. But you got to love those Scottish Terriers . Our niece lives in Alexandria and enjoys all it's nuances. In fact, we are visiting this weekend to see her brother, whose son is being bar mitzvahed this weekend. Some of our favorite cities in Virginia include Charlotteville, Alexandria and Williamsburg ( Blues Jazz Fest Jan 17-20 2025) worth at visit to Williamsburg . We know that DC is not Virginia but will you pay a visit ? Hope you guys are doing ok. Best Wishes and Happy Holidays ! Love you guys 🎄 💚🎄💚🎄💚🎄 Jim and Harriet
