Honestly ISI I think everybody is feeling like this wether they want to admit it or not. I feel like ever since the pandemic life just been weird af. The energy, the vibes of the whole planet is just so sad and dark & sometimes it can be hard to stay afloat. I think We’re all in a state of grieving the life we once had before. I think I’m just now starting to navigate through this “new life.”

You are correct. Especially at grieving the life we once had. On top of that we've all spent time seeing how others live and it makes us question where we are in life. Now that we are "going back to normal" it's hard trying to get back to a regular routine. Covid showed people that the rug can get pulled from under you at anytime and it made younger people less excited about life bc we think more about financial security and self-reliance,. But hey, we had many recessions and world issues before that we power though so we'll be alright!

There’s more to life than social media and being a RUclipsr. It sounds like you’re true purpose/passion isn’t just being a RUclipsr. Find your why. Find your purpose. With respect to Josh and ISI the brand it’s not that we don’t understand or respect your decision. However, given your general audience the majority of us are probably in our early-mid 20s trying to hustle same as you but we’ve been supporting from day ONE but might not necessarily be able to transition to this paid platform at all or right away and that’s totally okay. So, I understand why some would feel hurt that we’ve followed so long on this journey with you guys and aren’t able to basically experience this big step or big DAY with you in FULL. Love same way and we appreciate your authenticity in this video, we’re all going through growing pains and that’s totally okay. Give yourself grace 🫶🏾 we all here to make mistakes and grow. Keep showing up in the ways that YOU CAN because you never know who you’re helping and the impact you’re leaving. 🙏🏾

    • @_SheRoseee_
      @_SheRoseee_ 2 года назад +11

This was well written. Both feelings should be able to co-exist. How can we grow as beings without allowing the space for others to feel, as well. It appears that a decent percentage of the audience is saying the same thing. This social media space can be weird and looks uncomfortable sometimes, so more power to them for riding with it and continuing to be impactful, especially because the audience only sees what they allow. Let’s also acknowledge that at the end of the day, it is a business. It may start off as solely inspirational or passionate but it’s also understandable that this is their livelihood and a source of income.
Life is a constant learning curve, particularly in the times we are living in today. Everyone’s trying to figure it out. We adapt and overcome as we go. We can all use more grace.

Isi… I have to be transparent. I was definitely one of those people who felt slighted by y’all’s move to Patreon, but unlike most people on the internet, I am not a troll and I always try to remember that there’s a person on the other side. So, I chose to fall back and think and decide whether I wanted to pay or not. While I can’t afford it now, I DO plan to pay in the future. I had to realize that I wasn’t mad at y’all, I was mad that I no longer had access to yall. While I don’t fully understand the decision because I am not yall nor am I in your situation, I’m still going to support where and when I can because I love you both like family. I say all this to say, some people lack compassion and empathy and they’re saying hurtful things because they are either a) broke or b) mad that they no longer have access to yall. I can totally relate to this video. Although I’m not an influencer, there is this constant pressure from the social media world that makes you believe you’re not doing enough or you’re not living up to a certain standard. But when you finally start to live like that, it causes you to slowly lose your way because you’re trying to be “that girl” or “material girl” just to adapt to that lifestyle… and it can make you feel inferior and make you constantly beat down on your self because it’s almost as if you will do anything just to fit in. We need to take back control of our lives and stop allowing external factors to dictate how we live it. This “that girl” life is not for everyone (and I’m not saying you don’t deserve good things in life) but make sure whatever you’re doing, the driving force behind it brings out the authenticity in you. ❤️

You are right we as viewers we can dehumanizing the person behind the screen. Becoming entitled and selfish and feel as if you owe us. ( When you surround your self with social media constantly in your phone you get trapped in this space and your perception to reality change) when boundaries or step backs are created anger and disrespect is gave and I’m truly sorry for all that you had to deal with, sorry that we forget you hurt like we hurt, you bleed like we bleed, etc..… I’m happy that you and Josh as doing what y’all need to do for your mental, your sanity, and y’all’s livelyhood. You can not perform if you are not here, if your not healthy, happy etc. You are not worth the risk for the wants of others( something I tell myself often). As a Virgo, I suggest u take sometime to focus on what the "new you" looks like and embrace her. Everytime I hear u speak on being a wedding planner, you light up! Because you're a vigo, EVERYTHING you put your hands on, you take pride in- & usually comes out fire! Planning is what fuels u, right? focus on decorating, wedding planning for clients ect and bring us along! What's for you, is for you & what's not...their loss! God got you...believe in yourself a little more 🤎

Isi I really think seeing a therapist can help a lot with your personal growth. And I also think, as you find yourself, you should set a goal for yourself that is just about you not about your relationship, marriage, labels, roles etc… just something you want in life for you. And document your journey and life as you live it.

    1. As a 27 year old chocolate black woman I relate to this on so many levels. With everything going on in the world right now as well as in my personal life, I'm in a state of where I feel stuck and not truly like my full productive self because I'm so overwhelmed. I have this great job and still feel like I can't fully show up like I want to. Regardless of what your career is, you definitely feel the weight of today. I appreciate you giving what you give because it helps more than you know.
    2. For the people who actually fuck with y'all for who y'all are and not just wanting to take take take, they understand the move to Patreon and support you 100%. It was a very good move and Patreon definitely feels more like a family.
    3. These vent sessions are definitely therapy. It's nice to be vulnerable and talk about things that most of us aren't saying out loud. This kind of content as well as Josh & Isi is like you said, rare. But it's very important.
    4. Girl a low pony with 4C hair is whole arm work out in itself especially trying to smooth it out so watching you do it was HELLA relatable 😂.
I love you Isi. You truly are my beat friend in my head. You got an OG here for life sis ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I feel you, especially when you said you kept looking back at who you were and wanted to recreate that version of yourself. There is a song by Jonathan Reynolds called ‘Movin on’, I listen to this when I feel like I keep forcing on my rear view rather than what’s ahead/directly in front of me. I would recommend the song because it’s just a reminder to look ahead (although it’s so hard at times) because what’s to come is even greater!

You are NOT alone sis!! I truly understand where you’re coming from- trying to reinvent yourself and learn who you are as a late 20s woman. On the other hand, I think it’s hard to watch others practice “self care” when you aren’t practicing it for yourself honestly. Or at least, that’s how it was for me. I was lowkey getting a little jealous of watching so many people do all this relaxing looking stuff, when I couldn’t afford to- financially and literally, even though it’s exactly what I needed. As another beautegang member said in the comments, we are all in some way grieving our old lives while trying to navigate a new one. Comparison truly is the thief of joy though unfortunately, and especially with the rise of entrepreneurship and social media content creators, it’s easy to compare and lose ourselves and get swallowed by the jealousy and comparison. I really pray for our generation and just learning how to give ourselves grace in growing into who God wants us to be instead of trying to be like “everyone else”.

    Dear God,
I pray you heal Isi’s mind, body, and spirit. May you relieve her of the many pressures she is feeling from different directions and sources. May she cling to you like no other during this high intensity season of her life. Give her your Peace that surpasses all understanding and wash her with your unconditional Love. May you be her firm foundation so that she may bend but not break. Keep her and guide her on the path she should take. Direct her steps and may it lead to peace, joy, and prosperity. I pray her future union with my brother-in-love will be built to last and withstand any and every storm that may come their way. I come against any and all attacks of the enemy…may No weapon against them prosper. In Jesus Name…AMEN

I think a lot of RUclips creators are in the same space. As a viewer, it really seems like once the money starts flowing, and creators reach a certain point it does make us question whether you genuinely like to put out content for your supporters, or if they’re just doing it for the money. In my opinion, the best vloggers are the ones that do just that. Just film day to day and engage. No theatrics, no reading lines, just authentic day to day that allows us to feel like we’ve spent time with you today. It doesn’t have to be a production. Do what’s true to you.

My twenties, so far, have been the most difficult thing to navigate. You have the outside factors like you mentioned like the government, Covid, etc. Then trying to maintain being a full time student while having a full time job, living with my boyfriend in a new city where I don’t know anyone except his family. Trying to maintain the family/friend relationships I have with being so much more farther away. On top of just trying to figure out who tf I am is exhausting. I feel like every couple of months I just have weeks where I don’t do anything but exist because it’s so overwhelming. I watched this video and cried with you because it’s like there is always so much life happening but no one ever considers that when they spit out expectations at you.

I started watching your videos because I wanted to learn more about my hair. I didn’t see many women making videos with my same hair texture. And with your content, I made a bond with you, not personally but to see you excel from your early twenties as a track star just like I am today, you have been a great influence. You nor I are perfect people but I can say you have gotten me through so harsh times. I have been low and decide to watch videos of you and Josh, they lift my spirits and I am brought back to my reality. You are not at fault, you are living, exploring the moments of life in which you tend to balance so well. You are not lazy, you are balancing, and with you understanding your current state and questioning how to move forward, you are displaying your growth. And honestly, your vulnerability on camera, you are becoming a role model to so many young women who can now see that they to can grow too.

Isi, just know that the journey is beautiful and unique to you. As a 33 year old black woman, I at times still struggle with the “things” pertaining to living my life “authentically” to me. Years ago, I thought I’d be married, with the house, dog and 2.5 kids but I’m not there yet, and that’s ok. Living authentically for me right now entails having to honest conversations with myself about things I need to change and being transparent about it. I don’t care whose toes I step on either because I have to do for me, and that is so difficult because I’m such a selfless person. Being selfish is truly hard for me, so it’s a learning curve. Self- care is REAL! I’ve had to learn through neglectful family and romantic relationships that if I’m constantly and consistently pouring into others without nurturing myself, then I’m no good to anyone. No one will show up for me like I will. You may be in a better place a week, month, or year from now, but just know growth takes time, it can be painful at times, but it is soooo worth it in the end Queen!

Wow.. I don’t think you understand how I needed this video 🥺 I believed it was just me going through this. I’m a Virgo, born in the south, raised by a single mother, and also a pageant queen. The sense of PERFECTION has been the demon I’ve been dealing with for as long as I can remember. The idea of me being authentic would make me feel weak, simply because I’d been through things people around me didn’t even know about. It’s hard and it’s a lot, if you get it, you get it.
I turn 20 next month and I’m still navigating through the journey of knowing who I am, and what I am becoming.
I’ve believe I’ve watched 2 of your videos in the past, but listen I’m a new subscriber today. Thank you for this, I need this bad.

I heavily resonate with this a lot actually when you were talking about how you feel you lost yourself 2/3 years ago into ur RUclips journey due to keeping up w a certain image, RUclips black, or materialistic things and that u lost the light in ur eyes I DEEPLY can relate, not in the sense of being an influencer but in a general sense personally, I look back at myself a few years ago and mind u I’m only 22 and I remember how free spirited and so happy I looked and didn’t hyper focus on my appearance or materialistic things, and I often get so upset because I just ask myself like where did life go wrong and obviously I have my reasons as to why it happened, but when u brought up the rearview mirror analogy that put A LOT in perspective for me because I am *always* looking back and not forward, so thank you for this video because and your consistent authenticity, this talk really helped me a lot

As a Virgo I heavily relate to this. The perfectionism that we hold ourselves to is so heavy and most people don't understand so they just impose their opinions on you. I feel you girl. We're in this together ❤ just continue living in your truth and whatever phase you're in you'll attract that audience. Stay strong love

I just wanna say that you’re right on course with your purpose with just sharing this video. Being authentic about where you are, how you’ve lost your way & trying to figure it out. You’re being authentic right now. You’re being relatable right now. You’re genuinely connecting and helping right now. You’re doing right now just what you feel like you disconnected from. The detour lead you right back to purpose & is being used as a tool for you to keep walking in it. Forgive yourself. Give yourself grace. Your detours are valuable for walking in your purpose too. You’ve already “made it back”, even if you have a different idea of what it should look like. Just keep being authentically you as you journey-the ups and the downs. What you share will take many forms as you keep evolving, and it will ALL be purposeful🙏🏾. Sending you love.

My Mother used to tell me all the time. "You have to cleanse your mind/spirit like you do your body. When you feel like crying..it is a purge. It is a conscience that you are moving forward. You are not alone..the best days are yet to come. Matthew 17:20. When I was 29, I was heading for a divorce after being married very young, and I had all types of plans to purchase real estate and flip them. I was driven into a different direction and I have not looked back. I am a senior now and life has been good. You are not in a valley, but a crossroad. Make sure you guys VOTE, PLEASE.

Isi I feel for you sis 😢💕 have you ever considered therapy ? I feel like therapy and prayer would def help out ❤️ currently in my 20s and have felt everything you expressed before … I feel like that probably every other week 🙃 I literally questioned my own identity the other day like who am I now ? lol I even asked my bestfriend like “what’s interesting about me ?” “am I basic ?” and she laughed and said I was far from it and she was like I always used to express how unique I am and I was confident in that, so why am I questioning myself now and I didn’t even know how to answer her 🫠

You do what most people do, you followed your peers. That's not necessarily a bad thing to do. It made you find out how you want to move in the future. Losing yourself is what you had to experience but unlike a lot of others you didn't get so lost that you could not find your way back. You are going to do this many times in your life. the next time you will recognize it sooner to handle it better. You got this.

Girl, we are not meant to stay the same as humans. We change, we mature, we grow up. Things that were once super important to us aren’t anymore. You can only move forward, not backwards. People will follow you and people will drop off and it’s okay! I’ve unsubscribed from people I used to watch back in the day and found new people (such as you). Why? Because my mindset has changed and right now what you post resonates with me. You are free to do whatever you so please whether that’s social media, a business, a 9-5. Always do you because you come first. Don’t worry about the majority because we aren’t on this earth to please others.

I just wanted to give you a virtual hug through the screen when you cried🥺 teared up along with you, and you are right! The world definitely doesn't prepare you for what your 20s entail, and it all consist of changes. From losing friendships, to family and romantic relationships, navigating career especially when social media makes you feel like you have to have it all figured out by 25 and have your retirement fully funded. Not to mention realizing that you're not the same person you were in high school when you thought you knew yourself and the world.
I lost my grandmother who basically raised me in 2018 when I was 28 and it shook my world. I had to have gone to 4 funerals that year back to back starting with her and it still hurts. Lost my footing in my career, and lost a friendship all within same year. Felt like a hamster on a wheel trying not to get flung off 🙃 😅 My 20s were a whirlwind. Lots of fun times but lots of growing pains, and those growing pains were ROUGH
Just know that I relate to you so much on a lot of what you said from the world changing and then your personal world changing all at the same time. And also in a way feeling like you have to conform because even though most of us watching you are not in social media we can still understand in a way the need to conform to the social media status quo while navigating the constant changes (mass shootings, roe v wade, etc). It's like we're expected to thrive while the world burns around us. (I know a little dramatic lol but it's the feeling that I feel a lot of people can relate to)
Bottomline is, just know that you are love and supported ❤ 💕 ♥ 💗 🤗 and I appreciate you opening up to us about how you're feeling because it does help us not feel alone. No pressure of course to do it all the time lol but I just want to say I appreciate it.

Girl I truly feel you. Loosing yourself, business responsibilities and then loosing family. I'm slightly older than you, so my count of loss has been a bit much to handle as of late. So I truly feel you. Good thing is you have a good mate for support as I do, as long as you two continue to back each other up, you're going to make it. All these things will change you, but do your best to focus on what is important for your life. Take your time and do what you need to do for ISI and Josh. You're doing good, hang in there.
