My theory: Whoever has taken these people is playing a game, for their own pleasure or for others, and the wheel determines what happens. There are other symbols besides the knife, like the key to the left which could mean freedom. I think the other captives could have landed on the key, or something else, that didn’t result in death. It was spun for Lola and landed on the knife, which means she dies. The other captives who have survived their “game” are forced to participate. In this case by watching Lola die, to reinforce the idea that they were purely lucky not actually free. Once she kills the executioner the other captives seem a little off and even smile, but only when we aren’t seeing them through Lolas POV. When seen from Her POV they look ready to attack her. Lola kills them as they’re simply trying to escape not attack. At the end she realizes they were captives just like her. I believe Lola kills herself (figuratively) at the end because she became what she wanted to destroy. It plays off the idea that when you get revenge you need to dig two graves, one for the bad guy and one for you.
