I find it funny that the reason that they made the Giga as exaggerated as they did was so people don't confuse it for a T. Rex, but they had no qualm with making the Atrociraptor almost identical to the velociraptor.
Well, it makes WAY more sense for the raptors to look similar and even then, the Atrociraptors are larger, stockier, and confirmed more brutish than the Velociraptors. Not to mention they’re in the same family tree. Meanwhile, T-Rex and Giga are completely opposite species.
@@axelstone3131 Uh no, they don't. Aside from the color and boxy head, they look identical to the JP velociraptor. They still have a similar silhouette. It's to the point many people still mistake them for Velociraptor anyways

To my eyes it looks just as ungly as it should to give the idea the movie makers want us to think when it comes to the pyroraptor. On the other hand the atrocaraptor although giving the right expresion its still a little to much based on the already exesting raptor that we got so it isnt that good to my eyes. I would have gone with a smoother/more extensive coat overall, the bare patches are kinda odd. I suspect the 'shaggy' look is to make the coat look "thick" to the audience (even though thats more of a fur thing, not a feather thing) and justify the cold-tolerance thing. It probably won't come up in the movie since it was just a website ARG easter egg, but I wonder if the Pyro is going to be cited as Wu's research being 'perfected' by a third party, since they teased before Wu was apparently aware raptors "should" have feathers, but JP and JW couldn't get the genes working without activating other, weirdly lethal genes. Considering me a +1 on thinking they shoulda made the Atrocis a little more visually distinct. Movies go by quick and you want a real quick distinction. Even a different skin pattern would help.
Some people don't understand that Pyroraptor swimming makes sense, because many modern day Dinosaurs, Birds dive to hunt and/or to escape from predators and some Dromaeosaurs (including Pyroraptor) are though to be semi-aquatic and as you said, it has webbed feet. Also many people didn't notice that Atrociraptors (like the Pyroraptor) have unpronated wrists, +1 scientific accuracy
The problem is that its swimming like a penguin or diving bird, and is also swimming in below zero temperatures There is nothing wrong with having it swim, but why in a frozen lake?
Because nothing in its design suggests it should be able to dive in normal water, let alone frigid ice water. Swimming is one thing, diving like what was seen in the trailer is another

I've always imagined that the reason the dinos in the JP franchise didn't have feathers was because the DNA was filled in with frog DNA... then when they discovered that dinosaurs originally had feathers they started including bird DNA into the mix and thus the feathery Pyroraptor... that's just how i imagined it
I think the Pyroraptor looks really cool. It may not be accurate to the real thing, but it gives you an idea on how it could've looked like back then. And besides, InGen might've tweaked it's DNA a bit to suit their needs in this movie?
The good thing about this movie is more people will bring more attention to theses new dinos. Maybe get more fossil discoveries to be pushed forward. People want to learn more about these amazing creatures.
For these fictional JW versions, I think it would depend on the environment. In a cold environment with ice and or water, Pyro has it up to 70% of the time but other than that, I don't think it wins much. The Atrociraptors are quite a bit larger and shown to be just as vicious as their Velociraptor cousins. Not that Pyro doesn't seem vicious as it definitely does but I digress. My point is (Imho)this would be like a coyote against a Grey Wolf. With similar attributes,(in this case two different species of Dromeasaur) the larger animal usually (but not always) wins. It could also depend on if was 1v1 or a Pack V Pack situation. Overall though, (with the limited knowledge we have from the previews), I'd say Atrociraptor(s) win 75% of the hypothetical encounters and Pyroraptor wins just 25% of the time. Of course, my opinion may change once I see the movie. Regardless, I do like them both.

Issue with that game is that you can't go far without keeping your creatures inside of the habitats scattered around the world. I find it funny that scientists still are trying to cling to their “Dinosaurs had feathers” myth when National Geographic accidentally disproved within the past couple of years by finding a specimen with scales in a dig in Canada I also want to point out that if you look at the wiki the new Jurassic World movie was going to have several new Raptor species but Deinonychus and Oviraptor were cut
Two things: -the Atrociraptor and Pyroraptor have confirmed sizes. The Pyroraptor in the film is eight feet long, 5.57 feet tall, and 400 lbs. the Atrociraptor is confirmed slightly larger than the velociraptors, at 12.79 feet long, 6.6 feet tall, and 500 lbs. -the Pyroraptor was confirmed to thrive in a variety of environments, and hunts in the icy environments by swimming under the icy lake until the prey falls through the broken ice. The Atrociraptors were confirmed to be modified for speed, trained to kill by scent, and Colin Trevorrow stated that they behave in a more brutish manner than the Velociraptors.
Really wish they would have had Troodons in the JP / JW series at some point. It seemed like a huge missed opportunity considering THEY were actually the smartest dinosaur on record
Im surprised they didnt just fuse the JP game's concept of Troodon and the OG's idea of compies as smallish but slightly venomous guys who are dangerous in groups. A tiny dinosaur dangerous in its own way would be a nice followup to the goofy dilolphosaurus.
It would be could if the TellTale's JP Troodon was in the film series. Raptors aren't scary anymore so might as well spice things up with a dino that can send them running (or turn them into living incubators).
At first, I thought the Atrociraptors were just recolored Velociraptors but they are slowly growing on me for being savage brutes over cunning. As for Pyroraptor, I must admit it through for a loop at first. Im all for feathered dinosaurs but jumping into the frozen water surprised me. After doing a little research, I found out that Pyroraptor belongs to a family where another individual (can't quite remember the name. Its a raptor that starts with H I think.) was heavily theorized to swim. Take this with a grain of salt because this theory is heavily criticized and controversial. That being said, the Jurassic franchise has always been known to fill in the blanks with estimated guesses. If Wu (Or whoever made it) believed the pyroraptor had feathers and could swim, he'd fill in the blanks with other DNA such as penguin, which would also explain being able to handle such cold temperatures. Frankly, I question Owen more for being a super human (being able to survive EXTREME heats from flows in Fallen Kingdom to EXTREME colds from frozen water in Dominion). In conclusion, I'm extremely excited for BOTH these new species a long with the rest.
Hmm I understand that some people want scientific accuracy and some people just want entertainment from watching the movie, but in a way the jp/jw dinosaurs combine both by not being accurate to how we know from the lore of the franchise because they are not true dinosaurs as their DNA was replaced with that of frogs where it was missing , and if you look at what percentage of animals ever lived compared to the ones that could of lived in areas fossilisation could of occurred then the percentage of ones that were fossilised compared to the ones that could of got fossilised, then compare that percentage of what we found, its like looking through several key holes through several doors , we only know so little about dinosaurs so maybe bigger dinosaurs that what is currently scientifically inaccurate could possibly have been around and we just don't have evidence for it, so a larger pyroraptor that what we dont know to have existed could of been a subspecies of the fossilised specimens we currently have.
I love both of the new species, and remember the ones don't or say that it's not accurate to real life or say that it's not accurate to the franchise. 1. It's a movie about science fiction and bringing dinosaurs back to life the odds of getting accuracy when it comes down to it ( if you yourself was to try to do it ) is probably a good 10 to 15% your not gonna get a perfect dinosaur no matter how hard you try and if you do it would probably take 50 to 100 years since you started the research to get one perfect scientifically accurate dinosaur. And 2. Of course it's hot gonna be 100% accurate with the previous movies that's the point it's a franchise it's supposed to evolve over time and change a little bit in a few areas but as long as the heart and soul ( dinosaur's being said soul ) of the franchise stays the same it's still the same movie and at the end of the day as I previously mentioned in point 1 it's science fiction it's gonna change over time and as long as they can make it somewhat believable I'm 100% okay with what ever they come up with it's for entertainment not reality. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
Tho there's one thing we can all agree that when it comes to fighting experience against much larger Dinosaurs, Pyroraptor and Atrociraptor won't hold a candle to Blue as she did fought the two Scorpius Rexes in CC, help Rexy defeat Irex with the help of Mosa and go 1v1 with Ripper and with the help of Owen, killed ripper after getting toss around like a rag doll.
I would like to see them put a Utah raptor in one of these movies. Why pick small raptors and make them big when you can make choose a big one to begin with. And it would be really neat to see the biggest known raptor in one of these movies.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing cause why did they take the pyroraptor which would have been 28 in tall then proceed to make it 5.57 ft tall and throw out all of its characteristics rather than using a utahraptor, dacotaraptor or something of the kind
I'm guessing the feather pattern was a compromise to the fear something covered in integument is less scary (which is why bears, tigers, and lions are completely bald) and what I hope is practical puppeteeting and getting feathers to look right on that. Ironically, while i'd prefer a smoother look, the shaggy choice with the bald spots on the legs isn't unrealistic. It reminds me a LOT of an ostrich... but they're like that to RELEASE heat more easily thru the skin, living in deserts and all. It's not something you'd expect to jump into freezing cold water without getting frostbite. ... Unless the movie is taking PYROraptor quite literally and reveals they got some genetic-tinkered heat-production ability.

I have JW Alive already
CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP
Ya
Tho there's one thing we can all agree that when it comes to fighting experience against much larger Dinosaurs, Pyroraptor and Atrociraptor won't hold a candle to Blue as she did fought the two Scorpius Rexes in CC, help Rexy defeat Irex with the help of Mosa and go 1v1 with Ripper and with the help of Owen, killed ripper after getting toss around like a rag doll.
Whats the hole MONSTER design🤨
Pyroraptor
Does the image they use of the atrociraptor remind anyone of scp-626?
Am i the only one whos suprised that owen didnt freeze in the lake
Plot armor baby!
I don't care they look good to me can't wait to see the movie
Honestly I'd like to see new raptors in this franchise
I would like to see them put a Utah raptor in one of these movies. Why pick small raptors and make them big when you can make choose a big one to begin with. And it would be really neat to see the biggest known raptor in one of these movies.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing cause why did they take the pyroraptor which would have been 28 in tall then proceed to make it 5.57 ft tall and throw out all of its characteristics rather than using a utahraptor, dacotaraptor or something of the kind
I like all of the designs of the raptors but I kind of wish they were all feathered
How is it surviving in the cold?
People complainig about feather dinos, while archaeoteryx was a thing and modern day dinos are birds...
Hey DangerVille could you do some how to train your dragon videos and dragons the nine realms season 3 theories like will we see night furies in dragons and the nine realms season 3 or a dragons the nine realms movie
The actual point of the video starts at 4:19 you're welcome
Damn I left my team to join but it's full😭...... kick someone put who doesn't have any rnak😭
Would have been nice if they used Utahraptors, with real estimated size, instead of bulking up smaller Dromaeosauridae.
Yeah using the utah, a deinonychus or a dacotaraptor would all be preferable
Bruh, people pressed about a raptor in a movie franchise that has HYBRID DINOS.
The hybrids were boring. The I.rex and I-raptor were just an evil T.rex and raptor. IMO the Scorpios rex was the only decent hybrid, and that's not saying much.
Pyroraptor real look like
Fun Fact: The Albino Atriraptor might be the rival to Blue? (But this is just a rumor but it is highly true that this is right.)
My first thought is any specially colored raptor is at least gonna be Important so the audience remembers them, yeah.
