Hey Mike! Now I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I LOVE classic Harley's and all of the wrenching you do on your bikes. I also love the clips where you show us the wonderful sounds these bikes make. However, the first two minutes of this video contains 98% of the reason I am subscribed. You spread a wonderful kind of positivity and warmth that is far too uncommon. Thank you for making my days better! Stay healthy, an appreciative subscriber.
I'm glad it has helped your faith in humanity. I think in the real USA ,no matter any colors or beliefs, most people are great human beings. I live in Cleveland and have been waiting to see you out on the road. Thanks for your time.
Mike, I'm really enjoying your channel and looking forward to putting my 1960 Duo Glide back on the road in the future. I could watch your channel for days, you're like the Bob Ross of Harleys. Keep 'em coming!
Loving the project bike look so far. A period bobber, perfect choice for that frame engine combo. A Period Springer is almost too good to be true! ...God Speed to you Sir!
Pacific Mike, I love every one of your videos and your encouraging spirit. I have never had a desire to visit your state, but watching the videos make me want to ride there just to meet you in person. Thanks for the instructional, encouraging videos. We need stuff like this in the ugliness that we have seen as of late in this world.
Thank You. I think by "stuff like this"" you mean "stuff like us." I'd love to throw a party for the people who write into this comment section and brighten my day. Maybe some day, we can. At that point, you'll be required to visit this state, Sir.
The people I like most are the real down to earth type of people. They don't seem like they're trying soooo hard to keep your attention, you can just watch and listen and learn from them. That, I think, is one of the reasons I enjoy your videos so much. You're just a genuinely nice person doing your thing. Very pleasant listening to you, and you're thorough. I'm very excited to see your flatty project develop into a moving machine. I can't wait to see it all together! Best wishes for things to flow smoothly and speedy for you.
Hey Mike - really no need to reply to ALL the comments. I don't think viewers expect an answer every time - but it does add a personal touch. Keep up the good work! Your information is valuable to all viewers
Mike take your time on your project bike. I enjoy your videos so much it will be sad to see you finish it...like ending of a great book! The journey is the joy of this project.
That's the plan! But when it's done, I'll bet I could come up with something else to build. I never quit dreaming. Deep down inside, I'm a small child. I really do mean to invite yoy along. You and all the people out there, who are interestd, make it fun.
Hay old friend, I like the show! So very glade you to do it and share the endless knowledge you have. The only problem I have is I’m not there always sticking my fingers in the middle of things. A blessing for you I’m sure. Keep up the great work, and it’s awesome your still passing on the knowledge.
Terry, I miss you like I can't even describe. "Hey Mike, cool benches." "Yah, my friend Terry bent all that tin." "Cool copper airline manifold." "Yah, my friend Terry made that and all kinds of other stuff." But, what I really miss is the rides and ongoing bull sessions. Thank You, my brother.
Love the channel and content, Mike! Thanks for keeping these beautiful machines front and center and sharing all things motorcycle with us, and for delivering it to us in an outstanding manner! Respects to you, my friend.
On the subject of kind comments I've realized mine have been mostly questions. So hear we go Mike I love your channel no one delivers old school HD better than you. I'm 61 and have been riding ridged frame harley's since 81 you prech the biker sweet spot from old crustys to the new school of young chopper pilots, your video's teach HD maintenance in a easy to digest monor. Keep up the good work and see ya on the road .
Hi Mike that mock up is looking great can not wait to see that beauty up and running all painted up keep the videos coming man can not wait to see them
Hello from Uruguay Southamerica! I have a 99 Fatboy, and a 32 Indian Scout in my garage and love to do the maintenance by myself. Love the way that you explain everything you do in your videos and also I love your bikes Thanks for share wiseman!
So much knowledge on this channel. I learn something everytime I watch. A real old school bike mechanic, and such a great attitude. I don't even feel like I'm just watching a youtube channel, it's like I'm visiting an old friend.

there was a trend in bike building some years ago to use and not over refinish old parts, i think this was following the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic. As fashions go in and out this style seems to have gone in the west, although stuck with me. nice to see Pacific Mike uses his own blend 'of refinished and new because that's the way i always do it' approach. Can't wait to see this Big Flatty build progress. Hey Mike, as we know all you RUclips maestro's are super rich so maybe build the 80" as a giveaway raffle bike ? ;)
I love my two ironhead’s but I hope to build an old shovel one day. I have a few parts and an old AEE frame but I still need to find an old engine block. I tell you, I’m not a big fan of technology but I’m sure glad that you are kind enough to show others how to work on our scoots.
Sounds great. When Tom McMullen was making that stuff (AEE), back in the sixties, the most common motors were Generator Shovels, Pan/Shovels, Panheads, and Cast Iron Sportsters. On my 1958 Sportster, which I built in 1969, I had AEE's first pair of six bend pullback bars. I bought them at their shop, where they were made, in Buena Park.
Pacific Mike that’s awesome, I have a Durfee girder 8 over also that came with the frame. I traded for a few other things like a hunt magneto, and I have two generators that I rebuilt. I really love my bikes and old machinery in general lol. I feel honored that someone with all your life experience takes the time to show others how to keep our machines running right and also that you take time to reply even though you have plenty of other things to do. Thank you.
Thanks love the show. Thank you so much you made me work on my old man bike 72 shovelhead bobber with dual plugs,93”stoker. He left my a ton of parts and a beautiful bike. Wish I could show i you. Thanks again for all the content. Start selling t-shirts or something I would love to support you for this knowledge. Oh, you was right the manual is the best thing to learn.
Mike wanted to Thankyou again.. couple weeks back had sent you a question about oil line routing and pressure build up in my oil tank after a full rebuild on a evo...Well you steered me in the right direction...S+S pump was a universal style I had put two supplies from pump...(small print in directions )...also swapped lines at filter assembly. All is good now bike is running awesome no oil issues.. Thanks again for your time.... Picked up another project 84 evo softail fiqure she will look good when done sitting next to my 84 shovel.....Good luck with your project will be watching !!!
Great! Look under that '84 Softail. When they first came out, I never saw one with its fifth bolt in the trans case. It bolts through the tab on the frame and into the bottom of the case. You need to remove the right shock to install it. Have fun!
Hello Mike. First i think u are a bright light in this CORONA times 👍. Nice to see the project bike again😀. It will be a coool bike for sure, and the front wheel with a new tire looks good 2. I can almost smell the rubber...anyway...After upjetting the CV carb that spit back it runs much better now😎. Thank u. "The Swede"
Wow, looking forward to this build. I wish I had your patience. Although I spent a good portion of last year collecting parts for my shovel then spent the winter thrashing on it by the wood burning stove. Fun stuff.
Looks really good Mike...thats a true art building and lacing the wheels yourself. Im honored to be along for the journey!...do you know what color your going to paint it yet?...or are you waiting to reveal that in a video?...thatll be cool too man...the more I watch yours and Tatros channel the more I'm loving the older bikes...
Hey Mike absolutely one of the best motorcycle channels on here, can’t wait to see this bobber built. The Pan and the knuckle are dream motorcycles and you don’t see many over in England. Anyways have a great day.
Howdy, Thanks for sharing your info, I do pick-up things from you here and there. Like the way you installed the wheel after installing the brake drum. I have owned and rebuilt many harleys going all the way back to 1969, pans, shovels, on and on typical old guy war story stuff . But as many times as I have pulled rear wheels off hogs I have never used the lug bolts to separate the wheel from the brake drum. For the past 50 years I have always left the drum attached to the wheel unless I had a reason to remove the drum. But from now on I will consider removing the lug bolts and and separating it as it was designed to be done. I do know that the allen wrench "hex wrench" is a hard to find 7/16 inch. And real hard to find 3/8" drive 7/16" hex wrench. I do finally have one that I treasure. I'm about to pull the rear wheel off my 52 pan and a couple shovels I have. Thanks for saving me a bunch of un-necessary work, don't know why I've always done it the hard way.
You've always answered my questions Mike like when I asked you about the Jets for the CV carburetorand other various questions I asked I enjoy watching your channel and I appreciate what you do I wished I lived closer cuz I would come over and help I miss the days of building a bike 😭
I totally enjoy your videos, glad you are moving forward on the build. My build on the Super Vee has stalled while waiting on parts, but seeing you working on yours is encouraging. Looking forward to seeing the tanks!
Great stuff is always brother Mike my first build was when I was 16 it was on my first bike my pops and I put it together never will forget the anticipation of being able just to get on it and go the project bikes looking good one step at a time my man Ride Hard, ride safe, be well bro
Love watching your videos Mike. You are a fantastic teacher and your patience and thoroughness is top shelf. Also love your personal taste in bikes. What brand tire is that you are using. I don’t think you ever said the manufacturer. Anyhow, Keep on keepin on brother, I’ll be watching.
Hi there Mike,I hope you're well, that rear wheel you fitted took less than 10 - min ,I think them chrome spokes are one of the finest looks you can have on a motorcycle, i can't wait to see whats next on this motorcycle build, take care friend & Happy Riding.
😎 cool project ; I miss my wishbone frame . My project : getting shovel up and running . Add gas and now a battery - complete rewire go through brakes . 😁 ✊✊✊👌👍🏻
Mike, you a Vietnam Vet? (Saw the Vietnam Vet Hwy on your wall). Faith in humanity is something I struggle with. Maybe I need a RUclips channel to restore it LOL. I’m a vet. Army. Iraq. Love your videos. Love motorcycles. Love you man.
Thank You. And thank you for your service. I have quite a few friends who are vets. I honor and thank them for their service. I do my best to stay close to them. They were there to support me, I will always be indebted to them. That includes you Sir. In order to be happy, I've always had to believe people are basically good. I don't have all the answers. I try to express love and respect. I do feel it. When my trust is shaken, I try to get it back. Again, Thank You. Take care. You're a National Treasure.
I hope to see you out on the road too! I wont be on a bike tho, probably be driving my '37 Studebaker coupe if I can ever get the upholsterer to finish it up!

I didn't want to advertise it. But, it is a Continental. Thank You.
Looking forward to see your parts painting methods.
Thank You. It's simple stuff, but really works and looks good and is cheap. Sound good? It's just work.

I’m no “Sir”, but thanks Mike. Keep it up brother.
She's going to be sweet can't wait to see her come together!!!!

I hope to see you out on the road too! I wont be on a bike tho, probably be driving my '37 Studebaker coupe if I can ever get the upholsterer to finish it up!
Wow. I'd love to see it. I'm actually vaguely familiar with the old Studes.
👍😎
Thank You.
It is called baking krylon, rustoleum etc at 150-200 degrees for about a half an hour to an hour.
Yes, that works well. But, just about any cheapo spray can paint and plenty of heat will do it.
Oh my! Mike is wireless!
Not yet. But, some day...
Hey Mike, love the show.....I'm working on a santee plunger frame, looking to find the axle adjustment brackets....can't find?....
Years ago, Custom Chrome bought Santee. If Santee is still in business... Good Luck.
Hello my friend they better not hold my comments back only joking. They are jealous because you are so popular my friend its always a pleasure to see you stay safe my like minded friend I love the old school bikes I think I love my older bikes a little bit more than the newer ones but that's just me America the land of the Free and home to the best motorcycles in the world well that's my belief and always will be regards Alan. Well said. Carry On, Sir!
I'd like to hear you sing a song. CAT will accompany you. Great Harmonies will result.
Quite an offer. I like most critters, including cats. But cats stop my lugs from functioning. Tell Cat, I apologize.
First...and I always look forward to your videos!
Thank You.
