I'm a young profundo to be but am missing my darker timbre, and when one of my other profundo friends pointed me in your direction I finally got a glimpse of the tonality and timbre I will be close to having. I'm only 22 but my voice is insanely bright but when I sing your renditions I can sing normally and not have to compress or manipulate my voice to sound darker in timbre. Thank you for posting such stellar performances!

@Aaron Anderson I myself have a voice of 2 1/2 octaves from C to g1 with full voice. This is called basso cantante AND basso profondo. I sung the duo of Filippo II and the Grande Inquisitore together. Bernard Ladysz sang this also but one after the other. Take a headphone and you hear this. Which people hire octavists and for what? For opera parts of Verdi and Wagner?
@Aaron Anderson Why should I give you a proof and make you jealous? I sung to Gottlob Frick long ago and he meanded I have everything to become his follower. Also the famous Josef Metternich wanted me as a student. But I can`t sing when 4.000 eyes look at me.
@Aaron Anderson Hear Cesare Siepi. Then you know, what from the first hearing of his records was my ideal. Cesare Siepi was by far the greatest bass ever lived. He could sing notes, all the other basses couldn`t sing. Of course, after 25 years professional singing, always in the first row, the voice became tired. After the end of his engagement at the Met, I was able to hear him in his second career in Europa and I heared many of his performances. Siepi never forced his voice. The last song I heared from Siepi was Ol man river in Parma. This I sung with 15 years, more powerful than on the record with Kenneth Spencer. With 18 I could sing everything. Even the two solo pieces of Hagen from Götterdämmerung. Believe it or not. Up to you.

The unique thing I taped was the solo of Baldasarre in the 4th act of LA FAVORITA with great C at the end like Giulio Neri and Cesare Siepi did. Splendon più belle in ciel le stelle....... No one else did this. I sung this on all vocals a, e, i, o, u, and ä, ö, ü at the end as fermata. I don`t know if another bass could do this before. I also sung the Wotan finali, the Holländer monologue, Pagliacci prologue, Escamillo, the diamant aria of Dapertutto. Believe it or not, haha.
