Oh man, that sounds great! Now I'll have to try that. I rarely get to use any UAD Unison preamps with my reviews because it colours the sound, but I SO want to. Mine arrives Wednesday. Can't wait!
First of all, thank you for your videos. They are extremely informative. This video is especially interesting to me because I have a V10 on order, and I will be using it with a 1073 clone preamp. I'm not a VO guy, I'm musician/singer with a baritone voice, but it will be interesting to see how it works out for me. I do have a question for you. In your videos you often talk about Hush and other noise reduction software to reduce self-noise from inexpensive mics. Is there a reason you use noise reduction instead of using a gate plugin?
I use the gate on the MT-48 with stuff recorded in my booth. If I’m recording to my Zoom F3, away from my booth, which has no gate, I prefer Hush to just remove the noise over a gate or expander.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff OK, so I got the Proar version of the V10 that you liked so much with the 1073. And you're absolutely right, it is an extremely good combo. Lots of low-mid heft, but still enough high end for it to work. Really nice on my voice. But just after getting the V10, I saw on Amazon that the Proar C414 with one of those Hakan style pop filters was just over $70 (with discount), and that seemed too good of a deal to pass up. So I just got the C414 today, and this thing just blows me away through a 1073. Amazing on my voice. Lots of low end power, and the 1073 character seems to tame the high end just a bit,. If you haven't tried the combo, I suggest you do. For me, on my voice it is outstanding. I sometimes have a problem with sibilance, and using the Hakan pop filter takes just a smidge more off the high end and makes the C414/1073 work really well on my voice. The V10 and C414 are different flavors on my voice, each really good. Again, thanks for your videos and for the expertise you share with us. It is really helpful.
Top shelf sound, Mike! Oh, I hope I won't tire you, but could you do an A/B through the 1073 (or Manley voxbox) of the BaiFeiLi V10 and V5 (sounded so good and polished on your sound). Honestly picking the Li mics soonest.

Yeah it’s like they were made for each other.

@@deanrichard3193 You're very welcome! I'm stoked you're digging it. It's amazing what these great affordable mics can do.
Oh, damn. Yeah, that’s good.
When the mic is so inexpensive like this, it's all upside. And when you find a sweet spot like this, it's like winning a prize.
Yep super sweet and smooth
I know, right? I should have my V47 soon, too.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff sweet. My v10 is on order now as well

Nice pairing. Two great tastes that taste great together
Right?
So now you have added something else to my "Must Have List!" .... Thanks Mark!..... LOL
Luckily, this one won't hurt your wallet much.
VO sound's really good!!!but do u think this Mic good for singing vocal?
Not sure. I don’t sing so I really can’t say how it handles anything other than spoken word.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff Thanx for reply! And I love ur honest comments for so many mic !!
Hey Mark, would this V10 or C-414 be the go-to for everyday mixed use? Thanks in advance for the response!
The only way to know if a mic is the right mic for your purposes is to try it in your space.
mine just arrived and I let my brother try it and shockingly it sounded great my brother's voice is nasally and sibilance 🤯
my brother said this was the first time he liked listening to his voice
That's fantastic. Glad to hear it. Now, you're going to have to tell your brother to get his own V10. LOL.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff indeed 😂
