For many people, 2020 has been a challenging year. But the #GQBigIdeas Summit offers a look at some of the key figures who are not only giving us hope for the future - but who are helping to shape it for the better, too.
The summit opens with a conversation between Hamish Macdonald and athlete and activist, Ben Simmons, founder of anti-racism initiative the #DoMore Project, which aims to create a more equal future for all Australians.
This is followed by a panel discussion focusing on three key figures who are leading efforts to combat climate change, heal the planet and create a more sustainable future. There’s Sam Elsom, a former fashion designer turned climate change pioneer behind Sea Forest; Sophia Hamblin Wang, the COO of Mineral Carbonation International who represented Australia at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year; and Jessica Wegener, from Firesticks, an Indigenous-led organisation working to preserve cultural burning as a means to preserving Country.
Each speaker brings a unique perspective on shaping Australia’s future and after the year we’ve had, their ideas are needed now more than ever.

Probably ask him ahead of time how someone should go about convincing an uncle to not be racist rather than catch him out. I mean, he didn't really answer it, he's young and doing his best to articulate a position on education, not propose how you chat with your uncle over dinner.
Hamish probably could of been a little less about getting details of his personal life, or talk about his money, and understand the main point and that he's a young guy trying to do the right thing.
