Im a lifelong rocker. Im a metalhead and a drummer and a singer. I've been in a hundred bands and im not ashamed to say that I love ABBA and they never released one bad song. Ever. I've never heard two voices blend together so flawlessly.
How can Fernando be both one of ABBA's most successful songs and also one of their most underrated and underappreciated? The song is, quite simply, perfection.
That may only be true in the US, where many of ABBA's biggest hits barely charted at the time. However, in the UK "Fernando" was one of their bestsellers, spending 4 weeks at No.1 and seven weeks in the top 2. :)
so happy to see you again with ABBA songs and Your lovely reactions "Fernando" (1976) is slowly, and beautiful The best is the beauty of his vocal harmonies, very soft at the whisper level but at a level of perfection I have compared "Fernando" to "Chiquitita" (1979) because they have similarities and contrasts ABBA had already recorded "Dancing Queen" and it came from the success of "Mamma Mía" It was the manager who convinced ABBA to record "Fernando" so as not to repeat the style (the brunette Frida had done it before on her solo album in Swedish 1975 and it was a big success) The manager was right and everything was a success, one after another in 1976, that gives ABBA three #1 consecutives in UK with: Mamma Mía Fernando Dancing Queen "Fernando" was a colossal success in Australia (14 weeks #1 surpassed the BEATLES with "Hey Jude") and #1 in U.S. Adult Contemporary I think that You could be react to the first worldwide hit of ABBA: "Waterloo" when They was famous for win the classic Eurovision Song Contest in UK 1974: ruclips.net/video/3FsVeMz1F5c/видео.html (these is the link of the historic moment that changes ABBA) or the other biggest worldwide hit "Chiquitita" (1979) when ABBA premier at United Nations for benefit to UNICEF Concert A cordial greeting from Buenos Aires, Argentina South América
Your accent is adorable to my midwestern US ears. Pure pop perfection, flawlessly and passionately performed, your reaction is much like mine. I could put it on a loop and listen to it for hours on end.
Wonderful reaction. You can never do too much ABBA. Don't know if you know but they put out a album in Spanish of their hits too. For some reason their voices lend themselves to Spanish very well. This song is also done by Frida in Swedish as a solo artist. It's very beautiful too. Thanks
Fun fact: ABBA in 1974 won Euro vision song contest with Waterloo in Brighton. The UK scored them 0 points.... ABBA became legendary and still are in the UK
Even if you were a very young fella in the 70s you couldn't escape your sister who played them on the record player every day😅😂 But as I've gotten older I appreciate the skills with the vocals 👍
Замечательная песня! Но обратили вы внимание на музыку текста? Прислушайтесь! Хотя бы словосочетание мой друг Фернандо на английском звкчиткак повторяющиеся рефоены!😊❤
Just about to turn youtube off and you suddenly appear, can`t beat sat around an open fire singing,, unless it`s someones house on fire then it`s not really appreciated.
