I definitely agree with everyone on the first Barbie fit! Also for Georgia bday the blue dress is definitely a win for me but the green top and the white pants are probably one of my favorite outfits EVERR so I would love to see that eventually it’s SO good
27:18 I will recommend from my own experience to finish it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of uglies, but pretties and specials is definitely really good. I would continue the story. Definitely gets more intriguing.

25:53 yes, I was in high school when that book series came out. It was one of my favorite books. I was about 15/16 !! I loved them! Didnt even know they changed or had different covers for the other locations! Its actually pretty accurate today now

25:36 I read this a few years ago. As someone who was constantly comparing themselves to other people in high school schools I hated the premise of this book. I did not continue with the rest of the series.

Uglies is one of my all time favourite series!! I’ve read it 4 times and i’m in love! There’s also a spin-off series in the same world called imposters!

Uglies is one of my favorite series ever!!! You should definitely pick up the next book and see if you like it more. I think that the next books are more fast paced than the first because there is a lot of secrets that come to light about their world and it seems like a lot more is happening compared to the first book. Like most series, the first book is more getting to know the characters and the world, but the next books are easier to jump into because you already know everything. Overall I love the series and it is super interesting, 4.5 stars!

That sucks about your Cricut..I was advised by Cricut support, that it’s best for Cricut machine to remain stationary, as moving it around can cause issues.

I love this bible verse!
I read Uglies and then Pretties but didnt continue the series after that. They just took me so long to get through. I did however pick up the series after this one by scott Westerfield called impostors and loved it.
I would probably be at Kmart three times a week as well IF my 'local' wasn't a 40 minute drive away! 😂
okay, i havent read uglies/the uglies series, but ive heard so many great things about it and all my friends LOVED it so, if it were above a 3 stars, I would read the 2nd book
How fun love the Cricut
I think because Uglies came out so long ago it's really reflective of the YA books that were released and became popular in that time. It may be you're not super into it because society has changed from 2005 and there are plenty of books that don't hit the same. When I read the series I was a young teen so I enjoyed them. But I think I was not mature enough to get the nuance and read between the lines or truly understand the message. Scott Westerfeld is an incredible author but thinking back to his books I consumed in my teen years I don't think I'd pick them up again as an adult purely because my reading style has aged past his writing style. There's too many books out there to enjoy and just not enough time!

I read the Uglies series in middle school and was obsessed at the time, but I honestly can’t remember anything about it now. It wasn’t a memorable or noteworthy series in my opinion lol

Loved this vlog!! I read Uglies in high school & the first book was definitely the best out of the three (or 4 if you count the extras book). Pretties (book 2) was ok but specials I struggled to get through. Im also the same age as you & have felt the exact same way about other books you have recommended with loving them or thinking they are a bit average. I agree that the concept was great & execution was a bit average.

I read the Uglies series when I was in middle or high school and, even though I read the whole series, I still remember how boring the series was. If I'd rated books back then, I probably would have given it ... 3 stars? The only one I would give a higher score is, I think, Extras? Or maybe it was Specials. I can't recall, but there's one with this guy named Zane, I think? I loved him.
What did you use to transfer the cricut cut-out version of the name card to the paper without having to pick up each letter individually?? I need to get me some of those!
How did you learn to do calligraphy/lettering? do you recommend any resources for beginners to learn or any specific tools to use to get started (eg. the pens/paper you need etc)?
I think I just watched a bunch of RUclips videos and practiced lots!!

Hii Rachel. I think I was the person who recommended this to you. I didn't like the ending of Uglies so therefore I didn't like the other two books, however its worth giving them a shot as usually the first book in a trilogy is mainly worldbuilding. I found Pretties weird as it undid all the character development of Tally, and then I found Specials kinda confusing. So up to you as to whether you carry on with the series or DNF it.
