I've also started the Bible Recap and its makes such a huge difference! I get up at 4:45, start the coffee, feed my pups, get all my "supplies" (Bible, Pens, Journal, Bible Recap book, phone for the podcast) put it all out on the dining room table, and I Pray, sometimes to myself, or most time I write letters to God. Then I read the daily Bible Recap reading, followed by listening to the podcasts and I write any notes. Our entire Church is doing the James challenge where we read the entire book of James, or one chapter once a day for 60 days. So I read my one chapter, or all of them, listen to commentaries, or studies. And then my Bible Study Women's Group is reading Ephesians, so if my 11/2 year old isn't awake yet, or its not 5:45 yet (time to get ready for the day), i'll read that. Its quite frankly my favorite time of the day.

This music brings tears to my eyes. God is wonderful, I can’t thank him enough. People who know me and my husband in our area. They know what we have been through and how long it took us to be successful and where we are at the moment. If you are familiar withe scriptures, I mean the word of God you can tell that Jesus always talked about destiny helpers and I met mine 6 years ago.. I met Mr Andrew in a church seminar 6 years ago. He is a young man with a good heart. God used him to change my life and the lives of people around us. It was a huge step we took and we do not regret it. I always talk about him everywhere pardon me. If you are out there and loosing hope I want you to know that God has plans for everyone of us. i feel my story should encourage a lot of people. I will drop info of him below

Hi Diane! You had recommended The Bible Recap (TBR) by Tara-Leigh Cobble back in August 2021 & I have been listening to her podcast, reading the TBR journal & writing my personal journal ever since. I have read through the Bible before but never with such understanding, clarity & appreciation. I thank you so much for your sweet words of encouragement, knowledge & positivity. It has been a pleasure following your RUclips channel. It warms my heart ♥️.

I absolutely agree with your guidance on bible study! I’ve prayed for God to put christian women in my life so I could have a small group of women to do life with. He’s answered my prayers and I now have 4 new friends and we’re doing a weekly bible study, The Book of James ✝️. We’ve enjoyed movies, dinner and spending time together too. I use a Life Application bible and the scripture applications make the Bible so much easier to understand!!!! For me I find it more meaningful to study one book of the Bible at a time. If I have too many studies, workbooks and journals started I get overwhelmed. One Bible, one pen, one journal, that’s it, that’s all I need✝️

I started watching Dawn's channel July 2020 after searching for "large family minimalism." Some of my favourite videos were her Sunday ones with you! Connecting minimalism and faith was exactly where I needed to be. After you both suggesting (multiple times) TBR, I finally started the study last fall. I am enjoying it so much! I also decided to join an online D-Group because our small groups had been on pause since March 2020, and I was REALLY missing intentional discipleship. I joined for their "Unleashed" study, and I am hooked! The accountability, fellowship and structure was just what I needed to grow deeper with The LORD. Thank you for suggesting TLC's ministry. With love from Canada! ❤🇨🇦

Thank you for sharing. I committed last year to reading my bible everyday and writing down my thoughts on the verse that I read. My husband joined me in studying in the February and as you said it makes a big difference having someone to talk it over with. We kept it going until middle of October but then I fell ill and didn't have the energy to do anything. I struggled to even find the energy needed to get up, dressed and prepare meals 😔. My energy levels are slowly improving and I have now added my daily bible reading back in. Although I'm not yet consistent with my time, before my husband and I would get up early and study the passage together before our children got up, it does feel great to be studying the bible together again. We sit with a nice cup of coffee, read the verse, make our own notes and then discuss what we wrote down. It's a great way learn more about God, while also spending some quality time with my husband, a win-win in my book 💗

I started a through the Bible in a year with a daily teaching. It does help my understanding. My rewards are my morning coffee and I color while listening to it audibly. My journal is next to me. Writing helps me slow down and soak in what I'm hearing and gives me time to pray about it. It's amazing for me, I love it.

This is so great! Thank you!! One resource I am discovering and loving for greater understanding of the Bible are the Bible Project videos on RUclips! They're incredible! I just learned my cousin is part of helping them translate it into 8 different Indian languages too! (Which I shared with our friends the other night, who are missionaries in India, and they were THRILLED to have this resource to begin to share in their ministries over there too now!) So very cool seeing Jesus in each of the books of the Bible, as The Bible Project points out. ♥️

I was trying to find some way to get my 3 year-old to take a "quiet time" since he will no longer nap. The initial attempt was me telling him it was quiet time and expecting him to be quiet (leave me alone lol) for as long as his little sister napped, whilst I was on my computer etc. It never happened. One day was screaming, the other running around making noise which resulted in stress and consequences. The day it clicked: the Lord put it on my heart that I should be taking a quiet time too. I took out my Bible and said it was quiet time. Crickets. It is has worked for both of us ever since. Praise God for His conviction and for quiet 3 year-olds ^_^

If you invest the time to have quality time with God in His Word you will be able to be strong and overcome in other areas of your life. Live by faith. I find that playing some worship music just before and/or quietly as I begin my devotion time helps quiet my mind from all the things that can distract me. Listening to others welcome the presence of the Lord helps me also welcome Him into my moments of pulling aside to "behold Him" in His Word. Thanks again. Warmly, Debbie

I started the Bible Recap on my birthday last May, so I could do a second year of “through the Bible in a year”. I admit that some parts of the Bible are tough (I’m in Ezekiel, now, but the New Testament is coming up in less than a month!), so it’s good to have Tara’s daily insights after I’ve read the chapters for the day,and to compare which sections stood out to me as compared to her. For years I have kept a daily journal 📔 of my blessings and thoughts on the readings, but recently realized I’ve put most of this year’s thoughts about the readings right into my Bible, as I was gifted an NIV Bible with wide lined margins. It’s fun to be able to stumble upon my previous thoughts and comments when rereading a scripture passage, especially during a group Bible study.

Hi. I have kept a prayer journal for years and it is good to go back and see how the Lord has answered my prayers. I struggle with reading plans. So I’ve decided to read and study the four gospels this year. I’m doing a Bible study on Elijah as well. It helps me to listen to the Bible audibly while I read the same scripture. Thank you for your leadership.

So, the more you handel something like scripture you are more apt to retainer it. I learned this some where, but I can't remember exactly were. When you write it down it is different then reading it because you are using a different part of your brain. Also, have you ever went to write something up on a white board/chalk board and blanked out for a moment? You also use different parts of your brain to write on vertical and horizontal surfaces . I thought these things were interesting, so I decided to share. One more thing. If you put scripture to a tune you are more likely to remember it too (this is why we teach our children ABC's in a song). Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge Diana.

I spend 20-30 minutes on my elliptical machine every morning. During that time I read Portals of Prayer (a daily devotional book) along with the Bible reading for each day. Then I read my Daily Guideposts devotion book. Then I pray through my prayer list. I have started my day like this for over 30 years. When I had small children I had to get up pretty early to get it done before they got up. While I shower and dress I listen to the Lutheran Hour daily devotions and a Bible study called eDibs. More 'multi tasking' than 'quiet time' but it works for me.

Sweet encouragement, Diana!! Thank you! For me there is Extrinsic motivation: quiet time, white Christmas lights around the window, black coffee (intermittent fasting so only this), checking it off and making a note/revelation in my agenda, Intrinsic motivation that follows: I enjoy this quiet time. Connection with God and occasional revelations or guidance in my life. (as you say: a divine exchange with heaven) A feeling of peace & centeredness entering the day. I just started the Bible Recap this year at your urging. I have done other great programs too. I choose to read the passage first and then listen. I love hearing what God says to me and then hear the commentator.

I started writing out the scriptures I was reading and then, journaling whatever and wherever my thoughts go. I love this practice. Last year, our pastor had a Zoom Bible study of 50 great passages of scripture. (I know there are other list like that on the internet). As our weekly study ended I decided to revisit these passages by writing and reflecting. While some are quite long I just take the several days I might need to transcribe- then read again and add “My Thoughts”. My heart is comforted.

I just picked back up what I used to do years ago, that gave me immense joy. And that is to simply write out Bible verses and prayer. It was an off shoot of the SOAP method which I was doing, and then ended up condensing it to just those 2: verses and prayer. I just use a simple plain, basic notenook or note pad, I have tried other formats but this one works best for me.
I noticed years ago back when I stopped doing that method, the joy and peace I had went by the wayside. The one thing I really like about it, is how it is very flexible, so that if I have an hour or 5 minutes I just write out what I can within that time period. I have found that it's the most wonderful and effective way for me to do a Bible study.

All great tips! Thanks. Love your personality and videos. I’ve learned so much from you. One of my goals this year is to understand the bible and I journal. It’s made such a difference when you write and soak it in. I started in the new year, but have been craving it for awhile. Timing is everything. I look forward to my time each day studying and writing. It’s a beautiful unique thing that doesn’t compare to anything.

Hi Diana - You truly are a bright shining light in my life. I just want to Thank You for all that you do.
You are looking extra beautiful in the last few videos. You are always beautiful but something is different. I can’t pinpoint it but you just glow. Whatever you are doing, keep it up.
Maybe it’s the new face cleanser and make up that you recently started using. If it is, I want to order some of it. Have a great week.

Father Mike is so engaging and encouraging. I have learned so much from his Bible in a Year podcast! I'm looking forward to going through it a second time in 2022. It's so great to know our Protestant brothers and sisters are journeying along with Father Mike, too.

@@lbru3614 Fr. Mike has such a great sense of humor and he is so humble! I’m going through that with Catholic and Protestant friends. We send text messages back-and-forth on what we learn from the day. 😇

Thank you so much for this Diana. You've made it easy for disgruntled Christians and agnostics to be curious again, and experiment again with the idea of working together with Christ. I have no idea where to start - so, thank you. Would you ever do animations or build this channel up and work with Christian actors in your community to teach The Bible?
    Diana, welcome to 2022.
