  • Iyinoluwa Aboyeji calls himself an entrepreneur in the public interest. He is passionate about partnering with missionary talent and capital to build an African future. Iyinoluwa is the Founder & General Partner of Future Africa, a people-powered innovation fund that provides capital, coaching and community to mission-driven innovators turning Africa's biggest challenges into business opportunities.
Iyin is also a co-founder of Andela and was the former managing director of Flutterwave, a business building payments technology and infrastructure to connect Africa to the global economy. E' as he is fondly called as had a fantastic career so far, and we talked about it all in this video.
He shared a lot about how he grew up, how he got the opportunity to study at Waterloo, the initial experiments/startups he tried building before Andela, how he met Jeremy and other Andela Cofounders, why he left to join Flutterwave and why he left Flutterwave. He talked about The Future Africa Fund and so much more.
This is my favourite FounderConnect video YET. E' was so open and energetic, and I learned so so so much. It is a must-watch. I promise!
    ------
1:27 Beyond entrepreneurship and venture capital, what three phrases describe E.
2:26 What growing up was like for E.
    9:17 How Iyin found tech
19:10 Building Fora, then Andela and then Flutterwave came calling.
38:00 How Iyin knew it was time to leave Andela and why?
40:57 The lessons he learned at Fora and Andela that Iyin took to Flutterwave?
42:42 Challenges at Flutterwave that his previous experiences didn't prepare him for?
45:10 Why did Iyin leave Flutterwave?
47:26 Asides from the big wins that the public gets to hear about Andela and Flutterwave, what makes E the proudest about these companies?
49:39 Was it a logical decision to start Future Africa?
58:21 How did he choose the team/partners at Future Africa?
1:01:43 What is the biggest lesson Iyin has learned in the last 30 years?
1:03:17 E shares what he thinks about Tech guys relocating

I am so glad someone decided to do this😀. It is very important that young ones understand that not every wealthy person did fraud or some sort of illegal thing to make money. Very important we hear stories like this, it really changes the perspective a lot of young people have about wealth in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Thank you so much for making this happen💕

Now this is exactly how best to "cut soap" for someone and for as many people as possible...E have bared it all ...the places where other people who achieved as much success as he did will shy away or hide ... And scream "na God" he gave us details
This is the best interview so far for me.

    • @opene-mark147
      @opene-mark147 3 года назад +1

Of course, he still screamed "na God". But then, he went on to help us understand that God is not a magician. And that faith in God without works is dead/useless.
