Though a grunge revival is more trickier to do in today’s time, but my only reason why I wanna see bounce back is to piss off Dave for the laughs, so he could talk about his “Boomer” problems as a parody of his own self. If not, then Nu Metal will do, since it’s on a revival right now that should be big as it was in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

The first thing that started getting to me was the clickbait titles. I would expect to actually hear something about the topic, and it wouldn’t be about it. Then there were the factual things that were screwed up, but I let it slide. The worst part was two out of line (and tasteless) comments he made during one interview with someone I really like and respect. The person looked a bit taken aback, but then laughed. To Dave, that meant they were okay with it since they are friends. I actually DID pay for Patreon to tell him this, because I was frustrated that I couldn’t comment and reprimand him here. I was ganged up on, but I’m glad I got to say my piece.

@@SleeveSaturday I don’t think my comments meant anything to him, because he kept telling me how he was friends with this person. IMO, you don’t make jokes that touch on their dead mother, and you don’t make off-handed suggestions about a person doing something that they got into trouble for doing. I don’t know how else to describe it without revealing too much. The person doing the interview is a very gracious musician, so maybe it wasn’t a big deal. I hope it was, though.

For me it's more that he has all comments turned off. I can understand not wanting to engage with people who may just want to troll, but what about people who would like to post a legitimate comment about the subject matter? And nevermind him having to reply, it also denies conversation that would potentially take place amongst the viewers. Leaving comments off takes the fun out of posting. Post what you will and let the chips fall where they may. No need to deny anyone the ability to comment.

Before the pandemic he had good tributes to those who passed, but now it’s all conspiracy theories and it’s old. I think many have moved on from the pandemic and are a bit tired of it, so naturally people will stop watching if that’s what it’s always going to be about.

If he stuck to observing music he would be tolerable- You know what they say about opinions. But he dresses up a 'music' video with his tinfoil hat stuff, and as you say, has no respect for the deceased or their families. As you say , he takes shots at everyone who doesn't agree with him, criticises lack of free speech, then runs from it on YT. He's mentioned how he is on meds - clearly they're not working. I will never understand how 76k people subscribed to him.
The dude has no real knowledge of music. He talks about the same five bands repeatedly, and he is obsessed with 90’s music, yet somehow has very limited knowledge of it. I managed to have a brief dialogue with him on patreon, but he was very standoffish, and refused to acknowledge any point but his own. He’s a cheap tabloid, that’s all.
He once referred to Liam Gallagher as "Singer of Alternative band" in a video title, which goes to show his lack of knowledge of anything post Nevermind. I understand Oasis wasn't the behemoth they we're in the UK. But the least Dave could've done was call him by name in the video title.
He’s really a dinosaur rock fan who only likes the 70’s, the 80’s, and unoriginal modern bands that sounds like bottom tier rock radio from certain decades I’ve mentioned before. I never buy into the “Grunge killed music” narrative nor do I felt rock was ever in crisis after Nirvana and during the 2000’s. If there’s a problem going on with the genres, then It’s the boomerfied Gen Xers like Dave. And don’t get me started about his love for bad country music from the 90’s cause it’s proof that he’s only a fan of Middle America who looks backwards, and that’s it.

Indeed. I certainly get the feelings about Styx, I have the exact same feelings about them and about how Dennis DeYoung has been treated as him. But Jesus, he moans about it far more than Dennis himself ever has, because Dennis is out living his life and has found great enjoyment in what he's done since, especially the great 2014 Live in Los Angeles video and album, a fantastic show. He also fellates Lindsey Buckingham to a ludicrous extent saying that he's "the Brian Wilson figure of Fleetwood Mac." Lindsey is a really good arranger, but he's not anywhere in Brian Wilson's league. His comment is not a tribute to Lindsey but a devaluing of Brian. Plus his ranting that the band should've kicked Stevie Nicks out and gone on with Lindsey but not her, and "get a studio ringer for Stevie's parts" is absurd and disgusting. Lindsey's voice is completely shot, he doesn't sound like himself anymore. Stevie's voice has wear and tear and aging, yes, but it still sounds like Stevie Nicks.
And then, besides all his COVID conspiracies, there's the cowardly way he does it. He can't say "pandemic", "COVID," "vaccine", "jab" or "Fauci." If you're gonna say all of this, just own it, don't hide behind weasel words like "thing." Not to mention, the way he also used Fauci to go on a rant about AZT on the anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death, to repeat the same tired old and debunked talking points about AZT that The Dallas Buyers Club put out there, when it was still safer than those Mexican supplements by a considerable margin. AZT had many drawbacks, but it kept people alive until treatment was refined; plus AZT is still employed today as part of modern combination therapy.

Plus he's been know to rip off content from other creators -- Jeremy White and Metal Mike have both called him out for it on Twitter. That's probably the real reason he doesn't allow comments.

Thank you for calling out this hack! I call him "Tin Cup Dave" because he constantly is begging for money and bemoaning how the "algorithm" is preventing him from getting more views and limiting his ability to monetize his channel.
Dave Spuria is a total sleaze who has been trying to get traction on this vanity project of his for years. He is only interested in the classic rock genre of the 70s and 80s. He gets to relive his "glory" days at college where he was a school radio DJ. He likes to boast about his time after college working at a radio station but leaves out that he was working at a Christian rock station (which is fine) but probably limited the degree of his actual experience in the overall music industry. I give props to his wife for being willing to work full time to support their kids and "Harmless Dave" as he spends all his time reading articles on social media about rock music so he can then give his skewed opinion on them.
I hate the disgusting way Tin Cup Dave obsessively jumps on every celebrity death and implies that it is part of a conspiracy over vaccines when there is no cause of death listed. I find it repulsive because the unsaid implication is that this person's family and friends didn't care enough to follow up on any supposedly "suspicious" circumstances of their death. He did two clips about Christine McVie's death that became the final straw for me and I stopped watching any clips that showed up in my feed.
Ironically, because of his screwy attitude towards vaccines and masks and his virulent defense of Eric Clapton and Van Morrison's anti-vax music, Eric Clapton reached out to him and they did two interviews. It was embarrassing in how much Tin Cup didn't know about Eric Clapton's early years in the 60's or even his relationship with Robbie Robertson (who had recently died) and The Band! Clapton clearly wanted to talk about Robbie and The Last Waltz but Tin Cup only had a superficial awareness and was more interested in his pushing his conspiracy theories. I was flummoxed at how you can interview Eric Clapton and not do your due diligence beforehand. At least read his Wikipedia page!
When he wants to get a rise on his views, Tin Cup does a clip about Steve Perry and Journey because it's guaranteed to get the most views!
Tin Cup is a hack who is desperate to be considered a voice in the rock world and be able to support himself but he thinks his opinion is the only one that counts and is patronizing, even as he is begging people for money and to join his Patreon channel!
He tried using Twitter but couldn't handle the comments. He blocked anyone who didn't agree with his posts. I think he's a jerk for steadfastly refusing to allow comments, unfortunately, I have to admit he actually has a valid reason in that there are trolls who immediately dox him. It's one of the key reasons he turned comments off on his channel and when he tried to use Twitter, I saw the comments that immediately started posting his home address and other information. As much as I think Tin Cup Dave is a pompous jerk leeching off other people for his own income, I do think doxing should be criminally illegal and personal private information should be protected. I don't know if it's possible on a RUclips channel to monitor comments before they are posted but it seems like it should be possible. Although I'm sure Tin Cup Dave would end up deleting the majority of his comments since most would be negative and he doesn't handle criticism well at all!

(Kris Bluth) Dave being able to snag Clapton was a huge get, but it's telling that even after that his subscriber numbers barely budged. It's as if even people who were still sympathetic to Eric took one look at Dave and noped out.
For yet another example of typical Dave, he says he reached out to the current version of the Guess Who to see about an interview. After they responded with something like "Your reputation precedes you. No thanks", he threw a massive tantrum over how mean people were being to him and even suggested that classic rock bands should lose the licenses to use their names unless they're willing to sit with him as he babbles on about vaccines or whatever other conspiracy nonsense that pops in his head. I suppose smug entitlement and whiny self-pity go hand in hand.
I actually started to listen to this guy because of the journey/Perry content. But that’s far and few between. And it’s weird that he really believes he’s in the “know”.. watching some of his older videos, some of the things he’s said were definitely going to happen (usually journey or Perry related), have never come to pass. I went off him when he started his conspiracy,anti vax stance. His limited knowledge of some of the artists he comments on is astounding. Surely you’d do your homework before posting a video. The final straw for me though was his appalling /and insensitive comments on Naomi Judds suicide, and Lisa Marie’s death.
And he wonders why his viewership has fallen. 🤦🏽♀️
He began plugging some radio station bit long ago, but hasn’t been doing that for awhile. I wonder if they’ve distanced themselves from him. I know several singers he’s tried to do interviews with have turned him down.

Dave's problem is that he IS NOT a musician. If he was, he would understand better how to comment on their music. Which he doesn't. He likes to comment about their lifestyles. Don't know how long he worked in Christian radio but he really should know better than trying to conflate that outlook with the life of the average rock n roller. No it is not generally not conducive to a long life of health & well-being but it's the life THEY chose and NO ONE else gets the right to judge them. Least of all, Dave Spuria.
And even for all of that, even Little Dave does not deserve to be doxxed. That's just proof of the insanity of the people he was "playing in the pool with', if you will.

I watched his channel a few times, but I stopped because of him not allowing comments. He's afraid of people disagreeing with him.
Eric Clapton seems to have initially into Dopey Dave's devoted support for Clapton and Van Morrison's anti-vax stance and the song they did. But I think in the interviews they did, Clapton was possibly surprised at how much Dave didn't know about Clapton's musical background - Faces, Cream etc. Shortly after Robbie Robertson's death, Clapton did another interview but Dave didn't seem to know how much Clapton had been a fan of The Band and Robertson. He said he had seen The Last Waltz but couldn't remember when Clapton tried to talk about the moment when Clapton's guitar strap broke during his solo and Robbie immediately picked up the riff and played until Clapton's strap was fixed and he was ready to resume playing. Clapton was talking about the moment and being embarrassed and how good Robbie was and Dave's eyes were just blank. He wanted to get back to politicizing the pandemic and vaccines.

Most of his videos are full of hatred, whether it's Nirvana, Stevie Nicks, democrats, or people who simply chose to get vaccinated, yet he calls himself a Christian?????

I actually talked with Spuria awhile back early last year and he's a fool.
Every time when we'd be discussing an issue he'd send me a link as proof of his claims and I'd watch or read it and then respond with actual facts and science which he'd categorically deny or ignore. I take pride in the fact that ultimately Spuria got so agitated he refunded my $1 AND then blocked me! His lame conspiracy theories don't stand up to scrutiny!
