Excellent tip Blackie. When you are out there actually doing this stuff, it is amazing what little short cuts we come up with. Often times we don't even think about it enough to mention it until someone says "hey, what did you just do right there?" Thanks for sharing my friend!
An even easier thing I’ve been using is a six to 8 inch toggle shoved between the loops. When you are ready to go just pull out the toggles and the whole thing comes down.
Nice tip...but why are you called "black Oracle 69? Your white right? And it's called a caribeaner I believe, not cabeaner...lol. Anyway, thanks for you handy hammock tip, I plan on trying this out...
blackoracle...one who gives you the answers you don't want to hear..lol ...when i got my first email my secratary created this for me..blackoracle69 at hotmail.com..when i started youtube you had to use a email address so thats how my channel got the name
People worried about paracord hurting the tree, nevermind the pine beetles, woodpeckers, and all other natural things that happen in nature. I don't see where paracord is going to kill a tree, I've seen a tree with a truck grown into it and the tree was just fine
i am sure there are kinds of trees that would be hurt..but i know on none in my region ..for me a paracord strap for a hammock will be up over night and will maybe only be under real tension for 6 -8 hrs while i sleep after that its removed..i bet the tree will recover quick
actually the paracord is tied with knots every few inches when it it on the tree the knots hold the tree..the cord between is held up a tiny bit since the knots are there..this allows the tree to keep flowing sap in the less tight areas..in contrast a slap strap or one of the wide straps..acts like a full choker on the trunk..it stops the flow..
Far to simple and practical lol. Thickies like me need things a lot more complicated lol. Thanks Blackie
glad you liked it..safe journeys

Would you be able to stuff pinestraw, or other debris into the gap between the hammock and underquilt for more insulation on colder nights?
yep in my hammock videos i show that very thing
