I was delighted to visit the house last fall and I love to imagine living there. Thank you for your stewardship and may it inspire future architects to create beautiful, modest spaces for people who appreciate nature.
As usual with beautiful old homes, we ouu and ahhh, not thinking of the responsibilities involved in having an historic house. Your commitment to keeping this magnificent home for future generations is so admirable. Thank you! Job well done!
I have family in Carmel. Each time I visited, I would walk by and most times, restoration was in progress. I am certain DELLA knew Virginia Best Adams... !My cousin Ansel Adams wife. Thank you, Great presentation.
Stewardship of such an iconic architectural piece is, obviously, very daunting. It would take a great deal of fortitude to maintain the structure. You've done very well and the reconstruction and improvements you've made will help the house last for a very long time. You said in your last video that you open the house, periodically, for tours. It's now on my places to see. Thanks for sharing.
I would bet that the tradesman were happy to Run to the worksite daily. Nothing like working outdoors, in Heaven, while restoring historic Art. Beautiful workmanship.
Like your other presentations this is valuable insight and documentation. Like a lot of other people ( I assume) I was totally naive about the required maintenance .
A key element of design is that the structure both merges and can withstand the rigors of it's environment, with maintenance being relatively proportional to owning it. As design becomes more esoteric as in FLW structures, seems these failures become exponentially costly and thereby disproportionate to maintain, let alone own. For example, I live on the Oregon Coast in the lee of Cape Foulweather, and my home was both aesthetically and structurally designed to withstand the onslaught of routine winter gales. And the home hasn't failed in any way in over 30 years. Nuf said!
Thank-you so,so much for this detailed look at the repairs....so proud of you✨ Oh and the people who worked on the amazing home. I hope someday to visit✨
This has always been one of my 2-3 favorite Wright houses. It's a real pleasure to see the house in the hands of people who are caring for it so well.

Your great grandmother would certainly be proud of your stewardship. Thank you for preserving and caring for your spectacular and storied home.

I wish someone would reproduce the Lumiline light bulbs. Chambers ranges--the Cadillac of stoves--also used the Lumiline bulbs.
You have just done a tremendous job at very important updates and keeping the house original..Thanks for sharing...

Excellent solution for cypress hedge. If I was neighbor I would be thrilled.
