"fight the oppressors!" they scream as they ignore their own government that spent billions on missiles instead of basic utilities and shelters.
i feel no sympathy for this nonsense conflict- one side will end up as ashes and rubble- and there is no one to blame but themselves for failing to over throw their own leaders.
if you are on the path leading off a cliff- and you have leaders pushing you forward- you are the only person to blame for walking off.
@@fr3847 do you not realize spam-commenting on youtube channels is always positive for the channel?
Excellent presentation. Thanks to the entire team, including the photographer for this excellent report.
I really respected the Palestinian woman she seemed so well educated and then she just walked away when difficult questions were asked.
Your ability to allow both sides of the controversy speak their entire viewpoints and give your viewers the entire scope of the issue is very important in this day and age. This video itself is a great example, because the people you interview both bring up great points, and with your platform, you're allowing the world to see that this is not a black-and-white issue. To acknowledge that no one side is totally in the right is the kind of journalism we need in this time of political radicalization.
I'd argue that the state of israel is the bad guy here (specifically Bibi) - historically speaking. 75 years since the Nakba and things have only kept getting worse.
@@jamesdaniels1036 Technically yes, but hardly anyone with any role in the politics or as a soldier fighting on either side was alive when it happened 75 years ago. Modern Israelis grew up only knowing Israel, they have lived there their whole life and call it home. They have also lived their whole life hearing rocket sirens go off and seeing the Iron Dome regularly. Its not like they decided to take the area for Israel, their grandparents did.
…if you are only blaming the grandparents, then who is currently maintaining the apartheid? Who is currently maintaining borders? Who is currently dictating Palestinians movements through out Palestine? Who is currently refusing open borders? Who is currently barging into mosques every Ramadan and beating Palestinians? Israel has been slaughtering Palestinians for years and destabilizing their political organizations forcing Hamas to be in power. They don’t want him, Israel is the one that maintain those conditions that allow for someone like him to be in power.
@@jamesdaniels1036 For me Hamas and others within Israel and Palestine unwilling to come to the negotiating table are the evil ones. No matter what side, those that prevent the two state solution keep getting innocents killed in the process. Hamas is the prime example of a group that does not care for the safety or the prosperity of Gaza. It only cares for Iranian money and to kill Jews. Until these types of groups on both sides are driven off, there will be no peace in the region. And for those misled protestors, believing that Hamas is a "justified response to oppression" I would say an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Right now Israel is moving to the same war drum, Hamas attacked first, does that mean Israel's attacks is justified? If both sides keep reacting to the other the only result will be more death. The truth is all of it just needs to stop, both sides need to grow some balls and sit down and make a deal with one another. Unfortunately history has shown that the Arab's and Palestinians strike down deals constantly. Hopefully a deal can be made that everyone can get behind.

Andrew certainly is unbiased, we all know that. But the people he interviews definitely aren't lol and there are a lot of unspoken biases in his videos, unfortunately. I'm on neither side here, so please don't think I'm defending one way or another, but let's just objectively look at this video for a second. I'd say about 90% of is pro-palestine and 10% is pro-israel, and the only person he really "ridicules" by zooming in on his kosha dill pickle shirt and having them rap is the Israeli jew. Portrays the only pro-israel person in the video as some goofball while the entire rest of the video shows how serious the palestinians are. So yeah, Andrew does a good job of being unbiased himself in his interview style, but there are a lot of other factors that go into making/editing these videos that exude some bias.
I just wish that both sides can STOP THE VIOLENCE and maybe when all the dust settles and there's not as much bad blood between both sides negotiations can be made. But how do you expect there to be any negotiations when each side is killing each other's relatives on a weekly basis? He could've talked more about Palestinian massacres, but also could've covered Israeli losses more or framed it in a more pro-Israel way, if that makes sense

I see it more as a reminder that there is a HUGE history here and BOTH sides have valid, and invalid reasons for being pissed at the other. Israel AND Palestine are both guilty and guiltless in this - it's a really complicated situation and anybody that says otherwise is blinded by their bias.
This is why we call it compromise - short of destroying the other side, it's the only way this gets resolved. People are too busy in their camps and prejudice to just take a step back. Which, of course, is easy for me to say not being Jewish or Palestinian and being mostly isolated, for now, from this conflict. I'm hoping these sides can somehow come to terms, but humans gonna human, so I wouldn't put money on it.
I understand the history, which is why I understand both sides have their pros and cons here, like literally any other debate. This ends in total destruction or compromise, people need to pick which they'd prefer. I'd rather just not see violence between the two sides but obviously that's just wishful thinking
No doubt the author mentioned knows about it as he wrote a book on it I was in no way belittling his knowledge just the point that the report showed both sides. It didn't. @@DGDfan13

Andrew yet again gets the hard hitting story that no other news group dares to go after. I commend you good sir keep doing what you do
Hard edit: Was unaware of the predatory accusations against Andrew. That’s pretty f***ed up thanks for letting me know.
I mean.. I forget who. But some of the news from here has reporters there while LITERAL bombs are being dropped walking around in bp vests and war grade helmets just tbf to them. Still doesn't discredit what Andrew is doing
What are you talking about brother? Every news group in the world dares to go after this story. It’s all they’re doing right now. Some even in Israel and Gaza and Lebanon and Egypt while bomb planes and rockeys are flying overhead. Andrew just talked to some people at a Palestinian rally
Shortly after the release of his HBO-produced documentary This Place Rules, multiple women came forward accusing Callaghan of pressuring them for sexual favors. At the time Callaghan called the accusations “devastating” but eventually admitted to a “pattern of behavior” before checking himself into rehab for alcohol. He is keeping it up my dude
Hard hitting, not the first time someone claimed that about Andrew hrhrhr.
Actual journalists risking their lives amid bombs and gunfire to report the facts on the ground - that u disregard because it doesn't suit your politics and its too 'mainstream' for you.
While Andrew, great as he is, is simply at a rally thousands of miles away, talking to people with a predictable one sided perspective of the war.
"I don't think you are asking the right questions". When there is no answer or can't answer. I will try this with my wife.
I was looking for a comment like this... really dont like to talk to people like this. To me they are just as bad as whatever thing they are against. They really dont want to solve anything imo, they are just tribal aninals being tribal.
When something goes against your personally held belief and you dont want to interact with it that's a showing of both your emotional innteligence and intelligence intelligence, being not very far up there.
Because the rally was to draw attention to completely different issues and all the Palestinian side is asked is to answer for the crimes of one group, when the targets of a genocidal operation. To call this tribal is pathetically hypocritical

Andrew, after reading and watching news for hours a day for over a week, it warms my heart to see some not so opinionated, peaceful and simply humane journalism... There is potential to unite people in this.
Not trying to be a dick but watching the news for "hours a day" is insane and sad.
@@MoarMike I don't usually do but what's wrong with reading up for hours, that shouldn't be considered insane and sad? Not trying to be a dick but your reply might be saying something about your understanding of 'watching the news' though, do you picture me sitting in front of a television watching the same broadcast live for hours on end? Do you consult a wide array of media sources?

According to the study of genetics, there are 3 main groups that originated in Africa and migrated outwards around 100,000 to 75,000 years ago. One cannot simply determine someone’s race through genes. One can only determine approximate geographical location of people through genes. The migrants left Africa and dispersed themselves to what we now know as Asia, Middle East and Europe, we have archeology to help us out with that as well. The concept of “land ownership” only exists within politics, emotion’s, flags, religion and the hunger for power. Migration has been and is a continuity . It is difficult for me to comprehend how and why the majority of the world population that literally share the same genetic characteristics have allowed themselves to be controlled and, for lack of a better word, duped, by these systems. It is clear to see that we are not in fact an intelligent species that holds itself so high on it’s pedestal. We are still very clearly in our infantile stage of humanity based on what we are doing to each other. Although, children are actually able to avoid these things as they grow up because their minds are not yet corrupted by these delusions. Hopefully in the future we will be able to deflate our ego’s and self-proclaimed pride. There is only one race, the human race.
Thanks for treating this issue with the seriousness that it deserves, this is extremely informative!

Norman Finkelstein offers a really great explination for why condemning Hamas is not a productive question by drawing a parallel to the Nat Turner Slave Rebellion. Turner led a slave rebellion in 1831 Virginia, where himself and other slaves violently killed 50+ white men, women, children. The white community at the time viewed it as an act of terrorism and responded by killing 200+ black slaves and lynching Turner. Today, the rebellion is viewed as one of the most successful slave revolts in history and it is recognized to have helped to speed up the abolition of slavery. Intrestingly enough, while the white abolitionists at the time were expected to condemn the rebellion they refused to. The abolitionists didn't celebrate it either, instead they acknowledged the tragedy of death and made it clear that it was the systems of oppression that upholds slavery, the systems that all white Americans at the time benefited from, that had led to this attack and it will lead to more until it is dismantled.
I can definitely see the parallels where asking Palestinians to condemn Hamas is like asking African American slaves to condemn Nat Turner, both acts of violence were tragedies but for the Palestinians and African American slaves who were both living under the slow but brutal violence of oppressive systems for generations they have limited options. The only productive question is: how can they achieve freedom? After liberation, the question of condemning Hamas could absolutely be productive, but until then it is difficult to ask.
Nat Turner's goal was to end slavery and use great violence to send the message, Hamas's goals aren't as morally upstanding yes they are fighting for Liberation but also the death of all Jews in the region they can get their hands on. Nat Turner's rebellion killed many people but they didn't kill every white person they could the group spared the impoverished white families, such mercy won't be shown by Hamas as it's against their charter.
interesting parallel nonetheless
The problem with that is you can just as easily turn it to U.S.-Middle-East conflict of the 2000's. "It's not productive to ask U.S. citizens to condemn U.S. missile and drone strikes that killed innocent Islamic people in the Middle East." or "It's unproductive to ask U.S. citizens to condemn the Vietnam war crimes and massacres.", because those horrible actions WERE and SHOULD be condemned and criticized, but without in turn praising the wrongs and crimes that those who were targeted (i.e. radical Islamic extremist groups). There's not a day that I don't feel sympathy and sorrow for the innocent Japanese people who were vaporized or worse yet who survived the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Did those actions in the end help expedite the end of World War II? Yeah. And how does that make it any less horrible, any less condemnable? Just because something is for a good cause, or has a good end result, or is done by the victimized or the ones in charge, horrible acts should always be condemned for what they are.
I get the point you're making, I really do. But while the analogy you utilize is not 1:1, stating that it's similar is kinda incorrect due to how it can be turned around and shown to be ineffective.
Crimes and horrible acts, regardless of the larger context. Those who commit such acts and directly (not figuratively or metaphorically) facilitate those acts, should likewise be condemned, but the condemnation ends there. No generalization, no broad strokes painting a warped impression from pain or anger or sorrow. I hold the U.S. government and military authority figures responsible and in contempt for the crimes and atrocities they committed, just as I do for any other government, organization, individual, group, or people. But only the ones who are responsible, and only because of that responsibility.
So in this case, I don't care that Israel is arguably done some fucked up things to Palestine, that doesn't give Hamas a pass. Likewise, I don't care what historically Palestine or Hamas has done to Israel, if Israel has done the crimes and wrongdoings they have alleged to be guilty of, those people and those acts should likewise be condemned.
But the sad part is, if you were to ask me "well who do you side with? What do you think should be done?" I couldn't give you a good answer. The only ones I know I side with are the Innocents who unfairly are being killed or hurt, who are used as political leverage, etc; regardless of who they are or where they are or what they desire.
I'm sick of unfocused, hidden in plain sight, guerilla warfare killing people who never picked up a gun in their lives. I'm sick of governments trying to control and manipulate the people they are supposed to serve and take care of. I'm sick of seeing unchecked massacres, hostage taking, and mutilation, all being done under the banner of some fucking invisible flying spaghetti monster or some self-appointed, self-righteous cause used as a crutch to become unruly hateful monsters without anyone questioning them. All across the board. Full stop
It's an interesting point however I disagree, I don't see how the Nat Turner rebellion sped up the abolition of slavery. I guess my point being the slaughter of innocents didn't actually achieve anything.
Thank you for the amazing journalism!
