well, that demonic whispering in the middle of the video just delayed my sleep by about 4 hours, great video though
hahaha, you spotted it as well. I was freaked out by it.
Don't worry, it was just the audio engineer being lazy and leaving all the mics open xD
Did she get trolled by the other lady with the mic?
jeeez thank god I wasn't the only one to hear it. Otherwise it would have meant that those whispers were there for me...
what did she even say?
5:41 creepy whispering lady :D "Only needs mike" or something, haha
Haha, I was also replaying it for ten times to try and decipher what she's saying :) scary whispers!
Your name fits very well with the overheard line. Cooking With Cows. Only needs milk
***** Haha, 'mute the mic'.
***** I got, "Can we mute the mic?" then a second later I hear "queeeeer..."
***** that actually freaked me out a little T_T
For those scared of the "creepy' voice at 5:42, it's the same voice that speaks at 2:42. Notice that her voice is mic'ed comparing to the others who just shout their numbers aloud. She just holds the mic the whole time and wanted to whisper something to her friend, while forgetting to switch it off.
Thanks! I thought the video was possessed or something. xD
Thank you! That was creepy AF
Thankyou RI for making me spill my coffee all over the coffee table, here I was all alone having an afternoon brew when some weird spooky whispering came through the surround speakers behind me...... thanks a bunch...
about 05:40 ish...
Better than spilling over your keyboard.... Or notebook...
Luis Daniel Mesa Velasquez
I had the horrible feeling it was coming from INSIDE.
The whispering from 5:41 to 5:45 creeps me the fuck out.
"Can we mute the mic?... okay" spooky
Sounds like "Colin needs a mic. Colin.." to me.
I especially liked the part with the unholy demon creature whispering in the background.
Bit ironic really, considering the venue...
LaMaisondeCasaHouse I was so freaked out about it that I went to my skype and starting speaking into my microphone (since I recently was on a call and thought it said "I forgot to mute my mike"), and then starting freaking out. It was amazing until I replayed the video.
Hannah has been everywhere on youtube recently.
Well her clients are many.
@@VCYT And she's open for business 😈

What about Rachel Riley?
Check out Dr. Holly Krieger, no need to thank me.
Ginger, extremely inteligent, and with a nice sense of humor.
And she has a very sexy accent too
Perfection exists!
She's also hot.
marcelosinico Bruh. Are you me?
marcelosinico No need of maths to predict her futur if she comes naked at in house ;)
marcelosinico her speech impediment is so hot
marcelosinico perfection exists without a soul.. I would woo
I need to stop watching videos of her, otherwise I'll fall in love... again.
Tot i was the only 1 suffering this... Lol
First one being calculus I presume?
Me too pal....my wife thinks I'm obsessed
omg me too haha i can't stop watching her videos🤩🥲
Trueee😭😭
Simple, direct, elegante, brilhant. Thank you.
It's that lovely lady from the RPS video from Numberphile.
get hype
Beautifully explained. Benford's law is also used to search for tax fraud.
That was a fantastic talk by a fantastic person.
The chart at 7:00...
It really says a lot more than 1000 words for sure.
Hannah Fry = natural communicator
Behold Hannah Fry, the angel of maths
Math can predict my future: If i can handle linear algebra equations i will become an engineer, if not i won't become an engineer.
Thought engineers needed to handle something more than just basic math.
@Alfetto8
In his mind, the only thing stopping him from completing his education was that course. It can feel like that sometimes when you're in the middle of it. Engineers need to handle many things, most of the time _not_ math actually.
@@Alfetto8 Maybe by 'basic math' you're referring to linear equations rather than linear algebra...
Absolutely intoxicating to watch ❤️❤️❤️❤️
5:41 No you do not all of the sudden have developed shizophrenia. The whispering voices you heard are on the video track :) Don't panic, it's all good.
Schizophrenia**
@@liotay98 just googled it. It's cancer.
I know your comment is 4 years old now but thankyou for checking my sanity haha
She is amazing.
10 seconds perfect laguhing starting at 3:05 . I really admire you Hannah.
''Basicaly, man fancy women''
Statement that should never be undermined
You have a beautiful voice Hannah!
"1 in 6 guys is above average" That brings up an interesting question actually, about what is meant by "average".
So if you reduce the number of burglaries with this, where do the criminals go? Will they go commit other crimes? Do they move to a different area/city? Or live on less money? Or suddenly turn good and get an honest job?
I love how British people pronounce the word "later"
Hannah Fry shows how maths can explain real world events in her talk from Ada Lovelace Day 2015.
hi
Hannah Fry is very enjoyable to listen to.
I know she is great
Can you ask her to leave the political ideology at the door, it has no place in science? I should say, it shouldn't have a place in science.
Any word on that creepy whisper?
5:43 a whispering voice interrupts Mrs. Fry.
thought i was hearing something, glad i'm not alone in this....
Anyone hear strange whispering at 5:40?
+けつを食べる yeah wtf
+けつを食べる so creepy
+けつを食べる I thought I was crazy
+けつを食べる Great find mate! I heard this as well and I assumed it was likely something paranormal.

Interesting graphs - "Women's attractiveness, as rated by men" = Normal Distribution.
"Men's attractiveness, as rated by women" = Log-Normal distribution.
This contrast suggests that men generally use only one criteria to judge a women's attractiveness, whereas women are using more than one criteria to judge men [the product of two or more normal distributions gives a log-normal distribution.]
Interesting, that might very well be the explanation
She has the most beautiful speaking voice! She put Bob Ross in Second Place!
Funny, I'm nearly done reading Prelude to Foundation and I suddenly get from Numberphile to someone talking about - well, psychohistory by Hari Seldon ;-)
***** hahahahahah so do I right now
Thank you Dr. Fry.
5:30 Hello Newman...
Wow, what's Lord Gaben doing there? ;)
did anyone else hear the creepy ghost whisper between 5:42 and 5:47?
+Douglas Webb scared the shit out of me
ne kadar güzel bir ortam. ne kadar güzel insanlar.
8:20 A family friend got a visit one night very late by a police officer. Apparently the police officer had been flagged down by a very scared local drug addict. They guy was well known to the police and had been arrested several times on charges such as robbery, drug possession, and other theft based crime, but was known to be non-violent and, ironically, quite honest. He simply never lied to the police because, as he said, he wasn't very smart and knew he could not get away with it.
Anyway the guy had flagged down the cop in a near panic. He admitted to breaking into a house but fled when he realized there was a lunatic inside. He was sneaking around looking for some valuables to pick up when he heard a "demonic" voice say, "I see you, ha ha ha." he didn't laugh, he actual;ly said, "ha ha ha"
As I said, this guy was non-violent and if caught inside a house by the owner he would just surrender or run away if he could. He got the cops attention worried that the lunatic had also broke in and had murderous plans for the family. The cop knowing the guy to NOT be a liar also became worried. He arrested the guy then went to investigate who else might have broken in.
The lunatic turned out to be their pet bird, who they would play a game with, sneaking around the house and saying, "I see you ha ha ha."
This story does have a happy ending. The addict got cleaned up, never touched the stuff again, got a job, got married, and now has his own family. He says he owes it all to "that damn bird"
+Eric Taylor LOL!!
Eric Taylor What a stupid fucking story that has nothing to do with the video....
A great talk. Thanks for uploading!
Thank you for your lecture I really enjoyed it. She shouldn't hate her app because it probably saved a lot of people a lot of pain.
4:22 Benford's law. Look for patterns o patrones
5:42 creepy whispering/ Hannah Fry's Galadriel impression
Hahaha, that OKCupid studie cracked me up so hard, so harsh ladies, so harsh! :(
I was searching for commodity math prediction, found this one. Not bad its good 2 see that a very loyal teacher is teaching great math. Bcz without it we are nothing in this universe
exponential growth formula can predict future population of various species fairly accurately.
after considering calculous the difference betwee dy and delta y is as far as I can go in outer words in a very short time it may be possible like weather by the hour or next month.
Neat trick/prediction (and thanks for admitting you had one in reserve! Say, was it by any chance, that *fewer* than half the numbers would start with 1 or 2? ;-)
But the way you called for the numbers to be selected, each possible starting digit, D, should have a probability frequency of about
p(D) = log₁₀(D+1) - log₁₀(D)
so that for 1 & 2 combined, the frequency should be close to
log₁₀3 = 0.47712...
This is a good little trick to pull at random (pun intended!).
I like!
Hloi
This method is the future of maths
So me here at the office alone at 4 in the morning getting freaked out by the whispering lady at 5:41
Clearly it can. I studied time series analysis in college
is it just me? but at 5:43 you hear some tiny voice trying to tell you something? ...
No I don't hear anything. What are the voices telling you to do?
i dont understand half of this stuff but I love to listen and watch anyways *_*
she is great keep me going
Tell us more about how safe the jabs are please
Oh Hannah 😌
Very cool
Distracted by beautiful redhead with lovely accent.
Damn.
Inescapable genetics got me into a checkmate.
Although I'm more of a sexy androgynous slave the the system polysexual stardust alien.
she has the sexiest voice ever
Excellent comeback. :-)
To only a certain probability. Not 100%
Great lecture!
Does that mean a burglar can look at the same distribution to know where not to rob?
Won't have access to that data unless they hack a police system.
If a burglar were that intelligent, he'd be called a banker
It shouldn't make a difference. After all, this is information the burglar already knows. For the cops, it gives them new information to work with, but the burglar can already achieve the same result for themselves by simply not robbing the same (or adjacent) place twice. The analysis grants the information to cops, but it provides no advantage to their adversary. For the burglar, the main concern is the risk:reward ratio, and this method tips that away from their favor if they follow the apparently-common strategy of repeat victimization.
@@stevenwhite3.1415 A banker is just a failed burglar :)
She could have easily been casted as an elf in LOTR :D And with no make-up!
Dude the whisper is literally Galadriel talking into your mind while talking to someone else :'D
Last words. A clue. Interesting. Fascinating. World of Maths! THX.
Name "Hannah" math itself is.
love her
I know this is most likely inappropriate, but my God, you are so beautiful Hannah Fry, and of course brilliant!
Why aren't there more women like Hannah Fry :(
inspiring video.
"men just fancy women' no maths needed to say that
3:36 when the teacher asks me to add up numbers in front of the class
I love her
I notice that this whispering is prevalent...it was there in Dr. Adam Kucharski's video too!! Please cut it out!
the best video
As an aside: What happens when the burglars get a hold of this app. Can they know where the cops aren't going on patrol and thus avoid these areas, knowing they won't be apprehended? For every measure there is a counter-measure. Seriously, a fascinating presentation. It is amazing how great the power of mathematics is.
I feel like that discrepancy in attractiveness ratings really needs to be looked into more deeply.
BLESSINGS FROM ANITA GRACE AND SONIA 👸🏽👱🏿♀️
Hi I have also prediction by arthmatic by previous data
2:39. OVER 9000!!!
Because of the way we structure our real estate markets It is also quite easy to predict with a pretty strong degree of statistical evidence the next major financial crisis. But most economist will tell you there are no black swans...
5:43 is someone is secretely whispering or it's is it just me noticed it?
I read it first as predicting the future OF math. Was kinda more insteresting to me.
Of course it can. Hari Seldon proved it years ago.
so men have the REAL unrealistic standards issue?
I just came to find out what ancient mathematician said you could do that for a name of something
Those whispers got my heart beating at twice the rate. Fuck it! 😂
Intelligence is beautiful :)
Good
inspiring
No fate but what we make.
does bayers come into what she is doing
I love her humour..😍❤😂😂
yeah someone was whispering,
Yup, it's called psycho-history it was developed by the great Hari Seldon during the years the preced the Foundation Era
You are very funny while explaining ❤️
Brilliant :)
Hi, i was wondering if you could tell me how i can find the case studies for maths in crime prevention. Thanks
Y'all I'm alone in a house and then suddenly heard that freaky whisper. Nearly had a heart attack! HAHAHA I immediately checked the comments. I can't.
5:41. I thought my iPad was haunted for a moment... gave me goosepimples! Lol 🙈🙊🙉
And 8:39 are you saying Shane is the burglar!!??? Lol 🙈🙊🙉
"Go behind the mic"
"Connie, hide the mic"

I wish math could predict me marrying Hannah Fry.
At 5:42 gave me the creeps first time when listening with headphones :D
+tagge156 I thought the exact same thing, seemed like I was hearing voices.
