They could easily drop Firestorm as a free to play game with crossplay & I bet it would see relative success. The map was gorgeous & BFV itself was a very beautiful game & the Firestorm zone mechanic is the absolute best zone mechanic of any BR. Being outside the zone in the storm was so visceral, it made you feel like you were actually running through hell itself. Such wasted potential.

@@Madeinstaten_305you're missing my point, I'm simply expressing my opinion that Firestorm was good & could be successful even today. I hope Battlefield does go straight for CoD's throat big map BR, Resurgence, the works.
EA completely dropped the ball with that game as a whole.
@@LordVader69420 yeah they did at launch, I didn't even buy at first because of the whole "if you don't like it, don't buy it" trailer reveal debacle. I bought it when it went on sale for $30 a month later. LoL! Abandoning it early aside, they left it in a decent state from the "Pacific" update onwards. It might could have taken off something akin to MW2019/WZ, had it not launched the way it did & them abandoning it before "the vid 19".
As an OG Battlefield player (since the year 2002), Firestorm was the first Battle Royal I played and I loved it. Played religiously until Warzone released (final nail in the coffin besides cheaters). And as much as I tried, I never could get into Warzone. Firestorm's TTK just seemed like perfection (vs the quicker Warzone TTK) and it had that Battlefield spirit. Such a missed opportunity the way it was handled.
I still miss Hyperscape. FIrestorm was really my thing too. But so many issues and just as abandonned as BF Portal... OG PUBG was something else too. You had to experience it back then.
I loved firestorm. I played more hours in firestorm than any other battle royal ever.

Thank you for reviewing Cuisine royale. Definitely one of my favorite games I have ever played and I still play to this day . I actually streamed myself playing it just the other day for 3 hours . I have 100s of hours playing it over the years, most of that time was on Xbox series x and had everything unlocked. But recently I switched to a PS5 and had to start my account over but still find the game to be a blast. Decent amount of bots in the game but they literally have aim bot most of the time and will kill you super quick
The original Warzone was doing it right. Shame they didn’t know what they had

If blackout was actually that good people would've remained playing it. It's been romanticized because people aren't happy with the state of warzone currently. It's just how nostalgia works

I honestly don't know why they went in a different direction from Blackout. The only thing I wished it had was the ability to bring your teammates back.
I still feel like BF could make an amazing BR if they really tried, firestorm was a mode that was just tossed together on a MP map and just wasnt good in general. The one thing I am worried about the rumored one is EA is going to push Dice or whoever is making it to make the BF BR more like Apex due to how good Apex did for soo long, just hope the publisher doesnt ruin the game trying to chase the success of Apex
I actually really loved firestorm. Had they released F2P. I feel like it would have been WAY different.

Firestorm wasn't on a multiplayer map.
Wasn't tossed together on a MP & wasn't bad at all. The biggest thing that killed it was simply the pay wall & not having crossplay. Hell, they could easily make it free to play & make it playable across all platforms & it would prob revive itself, even without new content. Also, I've heard absolutely 0 credible people say that they're making a BF BR similar to Apex. That wouldn't even make sense, EA owns Dice & Respawn. Why would they make Dice make a BR to compete with their own property. If Dice does another BR, it will obviously go for the Warzone audience.
Loved Firestorm, hate how the player base just wasn't there for it. Shocking because it was soooo good.

I am convinced that if they had made it a free 2 play game and supported it, updated it and added some QoL, Firestorm would still be popular today.
I think Darwin needs to have stone as a director more often. Doing his plays of the week style on it would be amazing🤣

Yeah bf5 definitely hit ww2 on the nose, going from bf1 to bf5 felt great but nothing beat bf4. Remember 247 metro 1000x ticket running a pkm with a bipod and a 4x holding c point. Plenty of late night smoking reggie till 4am.
Only think that's actually scratching my itch is arma reforger with mods.
Firestorm was my first battle royal experience and IT WAS MY FAVORITE!!!!! I love 2020 warzone ( I sucked then & was obliterated by the Kar98) and definitely perfer it over the warzone experience now!
I'd add, that Battlefield usually gets a 90-95% discount quite frequently on Steam, so you don't have to get it full price
Sheesh...seeing a good lobby with a director on Dar brought a tear to my eye. Darwin Project in its prime was the greatest thing ever. It will always be my most favorite battle royale game ever. It has gone through a lot of changes.
DICE could use some goodwill, they should release Firestorm for free. Which they should have done in the first place.
Imagine how much hype they could build! With a few QoL patches. That's what Arma is doing with Reforger and it's working.
Ngl firestorm is actually super impressive. Super responsive servers, foliage and cover spread throughout are well designed, and the game looks beautiful

I remember first playing Darwin project. Ended up spending hours and hours playing it over FIFA, which was my main game, and just loving every single second. Was such an amazing game and never had more fun in a br setting than this game
I miss Cuisine Royale so much. 😢 I remember playing it religiously with my friends 2020-2021. It was so stupid fun with the old western WW2 vibe with the whole cutlery theme.
I played firestorm four times. On the fourth play, me and a teammate were overrun by people 'teaming' where there were three allied groups that wiped the map and by agreement, two teams ran into the flames at the end. I don't understand how such an amazing game could just fade away like that 🙄
I remember wondering in the last BR video if you'd do Darwin Project so I was excited when all of a sudden you were playing it this time. There will also be a special place in my heart for Darwin Project. I played this recently and eventually got a full lobby (10 players) 😂
The reason i stopped playing Darwin Project was because i had like a 30+ win streak, that playing another match would give me anxiety on losing 😭 so i just stopped playing overall to keep that win streak lol
Firestorm was the most beautiful map I’ve ever seen. I’m really sad this mode didn’t take off. They abandoned it way too fast
Firestorm was a pretty good BR mode but like you said, the devs gave up on it like a few months after launch and maybe one big update that added some stuff to the map. It's real killer was the paywall to even play it. It's greatest part was definitely the MAP! It's gorgeous and the only other time it got used was for TDM.

I was top 10 on Darwin xbox for a while that was definitely a fun experience and I am very sad that it changed from what it was then was left to rot.

Yes bf always had the best destruction. Wish they never had removed the ability to level a building.
They are adding destruction to arma reforger, hopefully its similar.
I do miss the bf3 bf4 days of knocking out the supports and dropping a building on a squad hiding inside it.
There dropping another firestorm with the new battlefield game this year but there changing it so much

For Cuisine Royale (CRSED FOAD) You can play the OG mode that removes all crazy rituals, traps, abilities etc.. and you can play a more realistic game.
They should bring back Firestorm in the next BF. Make it free to play. What a beautiful BR that just needs a little love

Definitely a reminiscing I've played all these I was so hopeful for firestorm but they made looting to hard trying to follow thier realistic roots had they used a ui like pubg it may have been different

Darwin project was made for stone him being the director was nice. Stone you have the power to bring back any game use it and make that game your side gig like run tournaments on the weekend or in time you have alloted and it'll bring ppl in during the other days to try and prepare for the tournament just a thought

Not sure if you ever played or remember a game called The Culling. It was such a fun battle royale and sad that it got abandoned.
Had such good memories of firestorm loved it for the short time it was popular shame it didnt become free and popular
Hot take, I loved the inventory management this game on controller it felt so fluid and once you got the buttons correct it was smooth as hell.
Plus the movement on BFV might be one of the best of any Battlefield games, I just think the vehicle animations needs to be toned down. If this was a free to play addition to the main game I feel like this could have taken off for better than what war zone had
I still play this once a month, sucks playing solos against 10 other people but it's still one of my favorite BRs

The graphics still look good on battlefield because we still havnt even entered next gen for most first person shooters including cod they’re all still running on last gen… fighting games and rpg are the only games that entered next gen
firestorm was so so good. just needed better loot sistem. even with bots i would play it, it was amazing.
Ive actually got into a few firestorm in solo's and squads didn't even have to wait 10 minutes this was on ps4
if they separate this from Battlefield V and make it free to play.. this game could be massive

BR genre is kind of solved. You have fortnite, warzone, pubg, apex legends and a few smaller ones and that's it. The market has enough br games and any new one will have it extremely difficult to survive without constant attraction from streamers.

Activision should dig the old gamefiles up and re-instate COD Warzone 2020 and build around that. No hyperguns, no mickey mouse hyperskins and all that tooney stuff. Just military setup with the few guns 10 attachments and then you are back having a banger of a BR.. If you want to have a shop with things you can earn of from the players, let them buy new realistic skins and guns and thats it.. i mean how hard can it be.. Eventually Warzone will die out to be another Firestorm / Abandoned BR if they don't go back to the original formular...
They really mishandled Firestorm. Hopefully we get a Firestorm 2.0 standalone and with a modern setting.
Firestorm is dead because DICE openly announced that it was no longer supported in like...2019. It's still in the game because it's baked-in and can't be ripped out.

Firestorm was never going to succeed. People voiced their concerns long before it was released. It couldn't compete with the free-to-play market. Yes, it needed tweaking in terms of inventory management and loot, but the game has always been gorgeous. It sucks to say, but they've now left it too late and Warzone has become the industry leader. Even if Battlefield released a free-to-play Battle Royale in the coming years, it would be incredibly tough to entice players to a new game. Firestorm needed to be a standalone project based on the same engine, and they blew a huge opportunity.

@@Vno27 I've been saying Halo already has everything a great br needs built in with the armor system and gameplay style, I genuinely think infinite would have such an amazing br if they made one.
Played a good amount of BFV multiplayer (despite not enjoying it anywhere near as much as BF1), but tried Firestorm even when it was populated and it just didn't work for me.
Bf5 is a fun game should play grand operations with the fast squad

Knew it existed but forgot about it everytime i tried to play it id load for minutes on end or hrs if i let it ive only played one game of firestorm what sucks is i wanted to try it cuz i nvr looked at gameplay but found insurgency sandstorm and havent looked back
