This is why it’s so important to pray read and study God’s word for ourselves. It’s how we grow in our very personal relationship with our messiah Jesus. Reading praying and studying the word of God not only feeds our souls but grows us spiritually into that close personal relationship with Jesus. Reading prayer and studying God’s word will keep you spiritually focused and grounded, not being able to be deceived by false doctrines and teacher’s today.

John’s ministry is for all us saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone, all that’s required of us is to believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins was resurrected and came back to life on the third day, and you saved. That Jesus loves everyone . You’ll find nowhere in the scripture were Jesus said he loves everyone regardless of how they live out their life after coming to the full knowledge of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of Jesus Christ. I’ve even had people in the church tell me they’ve never read the Old Testament because we’re no longer under the law we’re under grace. What did Jesus say to everyone he saved and forgave of their sins ? Jesus always said your sins have been forgiven you , now go and sin no more ! Once saved always saved, it is a gift of God and not of yourself ,least any man should boast ! Jesus also said ,on that day , I’m referring to revelations.On the day of judgment Jesus will separate the goats from the sheep, and the goats will say Lord Lord did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not cast out devils and demons in your name and Jesus will look upon them and say, depart from me all you workers of iniquity, for I never knew you! Another words, I never had a close one on one personal relationship with you! You knew of me, you knew who I was, you went to church, you owned a Bible, but you didn’t know me ,you didn’t love me ,you didn’t truly know me or place your hope. Trust faith and love me ! Was not it used throughout the Bible that "this generation" actually refers to the generation that "experiences" what is being described, NOT necessarily the generation being spoken to? Daniel's vision of the abomination of desolation (the final AC proclaiming himself to be God while in the temple), has yet to come. The tribulation "never to be again" has not happened yet. To say the great tribulation has already happened would be to say the 2nd coming has also came and we are in the millennial kingdom, which we are not. While the stones of the second temple have truly been thrown down, just as Jesus prophesized, the rest has not. Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation, all need to be viewed in context as well.
That is what I thought he was saying that the great tribulation has already occurred. This is a seven year event not just the destruction of the temple.
Thank you! This is such a bad teaching that completely ignores most of Revelation and many other parts of scripture concerning the 2nd coming. People here need to read the Bible for themselves. Reading Revelation alone would instantly allow the reader to understand that the “Great Tribulation” has not yet come. They will soon find out however because it’s right on the doorstep.
Yes you have the Roman's taking over the temple in 70 ad, you have the Spanish inquisition and slavery by the papal bull.. people love to dismiss history from Jesus death until now... the time of gentiles started when Roman took over the temple and one of the Roman emperors even sat in the temple as stated by the scriptures.. people need to not dismiss history and also the series of events that occurred. Also this was a book if a specific family people love to insert themselves in a book written about the accounts of a particular family bloodline.
Good analysis, but it's possible he's misunderstood the meaning of 'this generation'. The book of Revelation was written around AD95, the destruction of the temple was in AD70. Yes, many of the facts in Matthew 24 happened in AD70, but the abomination of desolation is mentioned both before and after AD70 in the letters written by Paul and John in particular. The abomination of desolation involves the antichrist's reign of 42 months (1260 days) before Jesus returns and destroys him and the final plagues are poured out. So perhaps a more appropriate view is 'this generation' means the future generation that is present when the antichrist and great tribulation arrive in line with other prophecy like Daniel, Revelation, Thessalonians, etc. Plus, the mark of the beast is a global issue where nobody will be able to buy or sell without it. That is certainly possible today in our technological age, but highly improbable almost 2000 years ago
I think it's highly unlikely that Rev was written after 70AD bc there is no mention of the temple's destruction. What makes you think it was written around 95 AD?

Preterists believe the Book of Revelation was a prophecy written by the apostle John describing events that would shortly come upon Jerusalem and the Jewish people as their city would be destroyed by the Romans. For the preterist view to work, the Book of Revelation has to have been written sometime prior to A.D. 70. But there is compelling evidence in the writings of the church fathers that the Book of Revelation was written approximately 25 years after the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. For example, consider Irenaeus. He lived from A.D. 120-202. He was the bishop in the city of Lyons in modern day France. There are so many verses that challenge PreTrib theology, and it starts with this. The Olivet Discourse is mostly, not all, but mostly about 70 AD. Some verses may be about 70 AD AND the end times, and only a few seem to be just about end times. Recently learnings about 70 AD has made end times passages so much more clear. Good job!

Also, he says that THEY would receive relief from THEIR (current) suffering, affliction, etc 👉at Christ's coming👈.... Now, how does that help them to promise that their suffering would be eased 2000yrs after they die?...🤨 [Question the Narrative]!
This generation in verse 34 is referring to the generation that will see ALL these thing happen in their lifetime that started in verse 4. Verse 21 “then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” The temple being destroyed in 70 AD was not the worse tribulation that will ever be. It was only in Jerusalem, not the whole world like Rev 3:10 states.

@@jimwest5027 Hi, Jim! I suggest looking into Chuck Missler's teaching on the 7 letters to the 7 churches. There are at least 4 different ways to apply the 7 letters: 1) Each letter was a specific message to a specific church. 2) Jesus specified the letters to be read by all the churches. 3) John wrote them out for the benefit of all local congregations -- to learn from all the letters collectively. You can profile, if you will, your own local body; how much like Smyrna or Ephesus or Sardis are we? What do we need to work on? 4) I'm not sure how recently it was recognized, but someone noticed that if taken in the order given in Revelation, the letters provide a very enigmatic overview of all church history. Ephesus, the apostolic church; Smyrna, the persecuted church; Pergamos, the medieval church; Thyatira, the Catholic church; Sardis, the Protestant church; Philadelphia, the missionary church; and Laodicea, the apostate church. So per 1 & 2, they were written for a specific time, but Jesus & John intended that all the church should learn from it. By # 3, if something in Revelation 2:10 applies to you, take it to heart. If instead, Rev. 3:10 applies to you, take that to heart. The thing about #4, is if they were in any other order, this wouldn't work! Here's where it gets interesting. The last 4 churches seem to have express references to Jesus coming again, implying they will be around in some form when Jesus comes, whether that's the harpazo or when He comes riding on a white horse. I believe those to be two different events.
I agree. It seems to fit very well in context. He just finished describing signs, then said in verse 29 that you can recognize the signs that summer is here (per the fig tree as an example). Immediately after, he says when you see these things taking place, you know the kingdom is near, followed by, this generation will not pass away. It's clear in context this is talking about those who see the signs. I think the signs will be much clearer and more global than anything we've ever seen in history, and then a worldwide tribulation. Now check out Luke who gives the same signs, and clearly indicates that something would happen in Jerusalem BEFORE all the signs. Interesting. So Matthew and Luke are not talking about the same event in Jerusalem? Hmm. We must be careful when attempting to "harmonize" the gospels that we don't miss where they really are different. It's very possible the 70 AD event IS covered in Luke (matches up pretty well) but not in Matthew (you have to stretch a few statements to get it to "match" the same event)
BEFORE "THIS GENERATION," it says, " _NOW....learn the parable of the Fig Tree...when it's branch becomes tender and puts for leaves...summer is near_ " THEN... it says, _this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place_ " The " _Now learn_ " is Jesus adding on top of what He was asked. In Mark 13 Jesus says, " _And the gospel must first be preached to ALL the nations_ " Did that happen prior to 70AD? No. So, those claiming all end time prophecy was fulfilled in the 1st century don't have a leg to stand on. But, if we consider how because of the internet, the Gospel is now in every nation, this prophecy appears to have been fulfilled in just these last few years.
The claim here is that "The Great Tribulation" is not the end of the world or the coming of "the antichrist," as today's prophecy teachers would have us believe. Jesus used the word "tribulation" to describe the destruction of the temple in 70 AD. If you read Josephus's account of this event, it was a great tribulation, indeed. The horrors faced by the Jews of that time were like nothing ever heard of. Josephus also records that not one Christian was killed in this invasion because they had fled to the mountains when they saw the signs, just as Jesus told them to. When you read the history of this event, you will understand why Jesus spoke so solemnly on the matter and why He urged His followers to watch for the signs of what was to come.
Jesus said, "The gospel must first be preached to all the nations," this was the Job of Paul the Apostle, which he did. Jesus said that we can't put new wine in old bottles what he meant was that the old Judaism was not compatible with the New Covenant so the old Covenant did not pass away until about 40 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. When Paul's work was done and the Gospel had been planted in the world then the end of the Jews as a nataion took place. Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD This is the end Jesus was speaking of. People make the mistake of thinking He was talking about the whole world's end.

With all due respect and camaraderie in the Lord, I've studied this topic for many years as a Christian, I lead a bible study on the topic, studied bible theology in college, and I am in no way convinced that any of what you've said is correct. I believe the Preterist view is wrong for many reasons, but for one it professes to call God a liar. His covenants with Israel are _irrevocable_ (Romans 11). God is not done with Israel, the 70 weeks of Daniel is on pause and was not completed. Only 69 weeks are complete, one week still remains. To your comment about the New Covenant verses the Old. Matthew 5:17... the old was fulfilled in His death, burial, and resurrection, but the Old was not " _destroyed_ " ' kataluō: ' Meaning: to loosen down (disintegrate), to demolish; specifically to halt - destroy, dissolve, overthrow, throw down. Otherwise, what about the Davidic Covenant? Destroyed? I don't think so. Paul did not go to the entire world. Did he preach throughout Europe? Asia Major? Africa? etc... Preterism is a scam. Christ is not going to come back in our time, When Christ told those of his day (the first century people) he would come again in their time and turn it into 2030 years in the future... Josephus gives a good history of the Destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. He even describes the abomination where the armies sacrificed after the holy place was destroyed.

The sun, moon and stars are metaphors for Israel, remember Joseph's dream. Israel was called to be a light to the nations but when they rejected the messiah they brought judgment upon themselves. So the sun going dark, the moon turning to blood and the stars falling from heaven is symbolic of Israel's light being extinguished in judgement.

In April of 22 I experienced an event that could've only taken place by divine intervention. But Father revealed to me in my healing journey, that the things that took place that lead to my death before he breathed life into me, only happened because I was His. I didn't understand what was happening at the time.... I could never imagine anyone not loving Him. Anyways, the point is, I feel like my life is a testament of one of the last signs. Father thank you Abba for my life and for creating in me a clean heart to carry out Your will.

A wise Bible College professor once said (I was there) that "wisdom would decree that when forming doctrine on a given subject, one should first go to the most complete passage on that subject, then fill in missing pieces from smaller passages." I agree with this professor. He read about the abomination that will divide the 70th week. Where is the most complete treatise on the 70th week in Scripture? That would be in the book of Revelation, that includes 9 chapters on Daniel's 70th week. Where then, in Revelation do we find this abomination? We won't. God did not include that in the visions shown to John, so John did not write about it. However, Jesus did tell those in Judea, when they SEE the abomination, they are to immediately flee for their lives. We find that fleeing in Rev. 12:6. Therefore, 12:6 is only seconds after the abomination and the division point of the 70th week (two equal halves). It is no mistake then that chapter 13 in Revelation explains the days of great tribulation that Jesus spoke of. John explains that the Antichrist Beast will create both an image and a mark, and late in Revelation 14, will begin to enforce them. If anyone refuses to bow, or refuses the mark, they will be beheaded. Just before this, God will send angels to warn the people: if anyone takes the mark, they will be DOOMED to fire and brimstone forever. (Taking the mark of the Beast is a VERY serious offence against the Most High God, and His Son, Jesus Christ.) Without the mark, no one can buy or sell. Drinking water will become impossible to find outside of stores. GREAT PRESSURE will be put upon people to take the mark. If anyone is left behind at the pre-tribulation rapture, the wisest thing to do would be to just turn themselves in, lose their head, and make it to heaven as a martyr. This is what "those days" of "great tribulation" is all about. It is about being forced to receive a mark with the penalty of refusing to lose one's head. There will be few places around the world where anyone can hide. Since the trumpet judgments fill up the first half of the 70th week, and they have never happened, all this (the entire 70th week) is FUTURE. Jesus was therefore speaking of the generation that sees all the signs Jesus talked about, happening at the same time.
As I began to outline the signs, merging the three accounts together, I am noticed somewhat of a pattern forming. It's a similar pattern seen in the Exodus and in Revelation. Still working out the exact pattern but in general so far it looks very similar: Conflict>Persecution>Witness>Preparation>Tribulation>YHWH Triumphs>Rescue.

Yes but how does this go together with the interpretation that the great tribulation has already happened to Israel? I think it makes more sense if the great tribulation will happen at the end of days.
The Romans came to conquer Judea and Jerusalem two times. But when they came the first time they withdrew for some reason ( God had put it in their minds) and then they came back later and the war began in 66AD and lasted till 70 AD, so three years and a half. They destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in the end. That's the end of the age. Not the end of the world. But the followers of Jesus were warned before by Jesus and they fled to the mountains ( Pella) and escaped the judgment of God. For rejecting Jesus Christ as the Messiah. This video hits home to me because I have always believed that Yeshua in Matthew 24 was speaking of two different events, 70 AD and the razing of the Temple and then Daniel's 70th week. It appears he may understand that the destruction of the temple occurred in 70 AD as Jesus prophesied, while the literal removal of the foundation stones occurred in 135 AD, scattering the Jews to all the nations. This is why Jerusalem can never again be destroyed and why there is no Abomination of Desolation found in the book of Revelation.

So enjoyed your video. I use to be a pre trib rapture guy but now more than 4 years or so now have come to this conclusion that the story line is about the Kingdom of GOD and not a taking away. Many Christians have a hard time with the concept of the Kingdom of GOD since Christ arrival because how people are taught about it.

Many times in scripture a passage will have 2 profetic fulfillment. This is one of them, that is why so many people get confused. There is a rebuilt temple in Revelations, as described in Ezekiel!
The word "generation" in Matthew 24:34 can also mean a race of people or decent/lineage. That completely changes the timeline and better fits what we've observed historically. ΓΕΝΕΑ

Some try to make “this generation” mean “this race of people”. Christ uses the Greek word “genea” (translated into English alphabet) which from the context and Greek lexicons means the contemporary age of men He was speaking to, about a 40 year span. If Christ wanted to convey “race or nation” He would have used the Greek word “genos”. The Great Tribulation happened in the first century AD. It can be argued that there were 3 1/2 years of Roman tribulation on the Christians from Nero, then 3 1/2 years of Roman tribulation on the Jews with the siege of Jerusalem culminating in the destruction of the Jewish temple (if you must have 7 years of tribulation.)

Mat 24..."this generation.." in v34 would more specifically refer to the previous verse where he is speaking about "when you see all these things you know that he is near..." I understand why your desire would be to find it in the generation that Jesus was living in but in the context of the previous communication can we really jump away from its context to another gospel account rather than the context of its previous sentences?

Ananus was the high priest when the song of Moses (Deuteronomy 32) was being fulfilled, "last days", being sung in Revelation 15. He was killed by the Idumeans and replaced with a "false" high priest named Phannias. There is a possibility that Phannias is the man of sin spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Obviously, the Thessalonian church members knew who was holding him back, (Paul said they knew him), probably the high priest Ananus, until he was murdered. This is just a thought, read Jocephus and most importantly the prophets for the dates. The New Testament is written by Jews, and they will tell you that their doctrine comes from the prophets. Matt 24:35 to my mind points to a foreshadowing of all the things happening not only for 'this generation' of Jesus day, but also todays generation. Even when 'this generation' of Jesus day passes, Jesus words still stand in effect... meaning it could happen again because His words/warnings are still in effect... Cant put my finger on it because im numpty but there seems to be a deeper meaning 😅
I respectfully disagree with Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." I believe at this time that heaven and earth represents the Temple that is physically and symbolically destroyed in 70AD in Jerusalem (in Judea) after the roman (gentiles) army surrounded it . The Temple was where God (heaven) and man (earth) met until Jesus and his new covenant started. The end of Jewry and beginning of Christianity so to speak, as the sentence ends with Jesus saying his word will go on. This answers their question on the destruction of the Temple.
We were told we would be spared the wrath of God which is not the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation is the persecution of Christians by man. Rev 6:9-11 are those who die martyrs. Rev 7:9-17 are the multitudes of Christians who come out of the Great Tribulation, left alive until the coming of the Lord and are caught up to Christ as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. If you believe you will be spared tribulation you will not be prepared to endure. You will lose faith.
After spending some time reading the Torah, it is clear to me that the Israelites consistently turned away from God, God kept having to put them through some sort of tribulation to keep them on track. Even in the promised land, they messed up. They were told that a prophet would be sent and how to identify Him. Pity the Jews do not read further than their Torah.
Israel was born twice in 1948. Ounce Jacob 1948 BC. The country in 1948 AD. The parribel of the fig tree speaks of the generation not passing away until the tribulation. Godspeed brothers and sisters.

Because Christ told the Jews the Great Tribulation would begin when they saw the abomination of desolation (spoken of by Daniel the prophet) stand in the Holy Place (Matt. 24: 15). There is no evidence that the parallel visions of Daniel 7, 8, 9, 11, & 12 were fulfilled in A.D. 67-70, and yet such evidence is needed to prove that “that generation” saw the “abomination of desolation” which set off the “Great Tribulation.” 2. Because there was no visible coming of Christ in the first century. The world would not have missed such an event had it happened, for Christ said His coming would be like lightning, shining from the east even unto the west (Matt. 24: 27). 3. Because the view has no Biblical analogy. God always sent His prophets to address Israel as a corporate body. There is not one instance in Scripture in which a certain generation of Israelites was singled out to receive teachings that would expire when they ‘passed away.’ The curses of Deut. 28 were spoken by Moses to the “generation in the wilderness,” and yet according to Preterists they weren’t fulfilled until 1,500 years later! Obviously both Moses and his antitype Jesus Christ were addressing Israel as a corporate body. 4. Because there was no resurrection of the dead in A.D. 70. Couple questions: 1. Mark 13:12 refers to people being killed but also "the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." Likewise Luke 21:19 "by your patient endurance you will gain your souls." If once saved always saved, what is this talking about? 2. If all those not found written in the book (rev 20:15) are thrown into the lake of fire, who are those outside the city in Rev 22:14-15?
1. It would seem that you can't just say the sinners prayer one time and then live your life however you want and expect to be saved. 2. Inside the city are the righteous, outside are the wicked who have been destroyed in the lake of fire.
The Destruction of the Temple is not the same thing as the Abomination of Desolation _STANDING_ in the Holy Place. Daniel is referring to the idolatry of an idol placed in the Holy Place which had happened before. It's a repeat of a past event which was not a destruction of the temple, it was a defiling of it.

The Desolation of Abomination happens twice. Once in 70 AD, the second has yet to occur. “This generation” means the generation in which the events take place.

Though, there is an issue with your view on vs 35: Matt 24:35 is temple typology that would have been familar to the 1st century church- the 'heavens and earth' = was the temple and the system of Judaism that governed it. So, it still connects Jesus' thought pattern back to vs 2: "Not one stone shall be left upon another = heaven and earth shall pass away." Going further to vs 37 He includes 'the coming of the Son of Man' - this connects back to vs 3, in still answering their questions "what will be the sign of 'your coming'?" and to vs 27, referring to how quickly He comes and in what direction He will come (the Roman armies came from "East to West" in the siege of Jerusalem), but also in Matt 10:23 where He told them that they would not have finished going through the towns of Judea before He comes and in Matt 16:28 when He connected their generation again as "some of YOU(THEM) standing HERE (there in front of Him as His 1st century audience) shall not die before they see the 'Son of Man coming in His kingdom'...🤔 So you simply cannot separate Jesus' context at vs 35, theres just no merit for it! 😉👍
Again, excellent study! The first half of Mt. 24 is primarily dealing with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. The second half, with His (Parousia), His second coming! The first would be preceded by signs and events which would help His disciples escape. But the second judgment comes without warning, like a thief in the night, in which no one will escape. Hence, the message to be ready!
Matthew 24:30-31 specifically ties Christ's coming to the first event. Great tribulation will precede Christ's return just as it foreshadowed the fall of the second temple.

It is similar to the prophecy of God's judgment against Egypt: "Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst" (Isaiah 19:1). The Lord did not literally come into Egypt, nor did he literally ride upon a swift cloud. He did, however, come in judgment against Egypt. Likewise, in our passage, His "coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory" (v. 30), in the immediate context, symbolizes the triumph of Christ.

Revelation reworks it all back in.. The big one i see miss read is the bridegroom parable tells us how to read the left hand flood wicked sheep / right hand lamb,ark, church, etc etc Repeated over and over in verses to jesus coming .
Jason, you are a little confused between Matthew and Luke. Matthew is telling them future events about the tribulation or Daniel 70th week. Luke starts off mentioning tribulation events but then switches to the now and specifically tells the Jews to get out of town when Jerusalem is becoming surrounded. Matthew 24:4-8 talks about the beginning of the tribulation, (7 Seal Judgements) and so does Luke 21:8-11. In Matthew 21:9-20 is the Trumpet judgements and then verse 21 to 35 is the great tribulation or the bowl judgements right up to His second coming. In Luke it is a little different, we have the seal judgements up to verse 11, then Luke changes things up by saying in verse 12, "But before all these". Now Luke is talking about now and to watch for the signs from verse 12 to 22, he is telling them about the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD. Then verse 23 picks up where he left off at verse 11 and is describing the great tribulation. It has to be different because Luke says "before these things" and Matthew says "Then they shall deliver up" Luke mentions Synagogues Matthew does not. Matthew is all about Daniel's 70th week or the 7 year tribulation and Luke is not. Where it says "this generation will not pass til all be fulfilled", in both Matthew and Luke is talking about the generation during the tribulation. God Bless,
What is your scriptural basis for splitting up all of Yeshuas words? Instead of just reading them as he spoke them to a first century Jewish audience. The Bible was not written TO us in the 21 century, it was written FOR us. We need to remember the words had meaning to the original audience.

We can't skip over v.14 in mathew 24 because Jesus clearly tells us the end is not based off an event but yet a message, the message of the kingdom then the end will come. Which is the only message Jesus preached.

What about 2THESSALONIANS 3-4? Is not this referring to the abomination of desolation or no? If so, the man of sin is the abomination of desolation, who shall be worshipped along with his image. What Paul mentions concerning the man of sin is mentioned in Revelation 13 also. So it seem that Jesus is speaking tribulation that will not cease until He comes. It's gradually escalates until the hour of temptation that shall come upon the whole world (Revelation 3:10), which is actually making reference to the worship of the man of sin and his image and people being forced to receive his mark or not be allowed to buy and sell. So this is what preterists hold too. The problem i.have with this is that in revelations, the references to "great tribulation " and what happens there are world wide. Every mountian falling from its place, half the world population dying. These things did not happen in 70AD. Thats presents us with a problem.
The secret rapture doctrine contradicts the words of Christ in Matthew chapter 13 when He said that the wheat and tares would grow together until the "end of the world" and then would be separated. According to the two-stage teaching of His coming, both groups would not grow together until the end of the world. The righteous would be separated from the wicked seven years before the end. And what about the promise of the resurrection? Christ said, concerning the righteous, "And I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40). No one denies that this means the last day of the world. Yet Paul declares that the saints are caught up to meet the Lord at the same time the dead in Christ are raised. He says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). Please keep in mind that Jesus called this resurrection the "last day." But how could it be the "last day" if this gathering of the saints takes place seven years before the end of the world? And how could the "last trump" sound if it really wasn't the very last moment of time? Can you imagine the graves opening and the righteous rising and no one knowing that it had occurred? And consider this additional testimony of the Word of God: Revelation 6:16,17 When the wicked see Christ come, they cry out to the rocks and mountains, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Matthew 24:27 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." 1 Corinthians 15:52 "For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised." Psalm 50:3 "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence." Revelation 1:7 "Every eye shall see him. " Matthew 24:30 "Then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Matthew 24:31 "He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (This is clearly the time when Christ comes to gather His saints.) To say that the second coming of Christ to gather His saints will be secret, in view of these clear texts of Scripture, and in the absence of any text that even hints at His coming being secret, is to deny the Bible as the Word of God. In an attempt to uphold their contrived theory, the rapturists quote Matthew 24:40, 41 out of context. Notice this entire passage: "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left" (Matthew 24:37-41). Jesus is clearly drawing a parallel between the second coming and the days of Noah. Those who entered the ark in Noah's day were saved, and those who refused to enter the ark were left outside. But what were they left for? For another chance? No, obviously they were left to be destroyed by the Flood. So, says Jesus, will it be when He comes at the end of the world. One will be taken to heaven with Jesus, and the other will be left for destruction. Verse 51 makes clear what will happen to those who are left: "And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Read Luke 17:26-37 for Luke's parallel account of these same words of Jesus. In verse 36, this statement is made: "Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." Now notice verse 37 and the question the disciples asked: "And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord?" They wanted to know where those who didn't go to heaven were going to be left. Notice Jesus' clear answer: "And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together." Take note how Jesus taught that the bodies of the wicked are going to be left on the ground for the eagles to consume. Scripture is too plain to be misunderstood. Only as we accept all that the Bible says can we be safe from such deceptive teachings that are confusing millions of sincere Christians today concerning this most glorious event of all ages, the second coming of Jesus Christ. Now, I realize that the rapturists hang onto the texts that liken the Lord's coming to "a thief in the night." They assume that this must be a quiet, secret coming. But does it really mean that? Let's show that it definitely does not. Here is one of those texts in 2 Peter 3: 10: "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat." Obviously the "thief' part has nothing to do with secrecy because the heavens will pass away with a great noise! And if coming "as a thief' is the secret rapture which takes place seven years before the end of the world, how can the heavens and earth "pass away," as Peter describes it? The heavens and earth could not pass away seven years before the world ends - that is the end! The fact is that Jesus Himself explained clearly just how a thief's coming could be related to His coming: "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up" (Matthew 24:42, 43). There it is, so plain and simple! The thief would come unexpectedly when the owners were not looking for a thief. In the same way, His coming would take people by surprise. They would not be watching or looking for it

You're exactly right cuz I watch a bunch of pastors butcher it up by separating verse 35 and 36 when they should go together the same way with Acts chapter 1 verse 7 and 8 since we are living at the end of the days I watch a lot of these preachers butcher a lot of things up talking about the end of times

According to this interpretation, it seems to lend itself to the preterist viewpoint, meaning that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD marks the complete fulfillment of the whole book of Revelation. Therefore, we are in the Millennium and the rapture is post-millennial and not premillennial.
This is why it’s so important to pray read and study God’s word for ourselves. It’s how we grow in our very personal relationship with our messiah Jesus. Reading praying and studying the word of God not only feeds our souls but grows us spiritually into that close personal relationship with Jesus. Reading prayer and studying God’s word will keep you spiritually focused and grounded, not being able to be deceived by false doctrines and teacher’s today.

Was not it used throughout the Bible that "this generation" actually refers to the generation that "experiences" what is being described, NOT necessarily the generation being spoken to? Daniel's vision of the abomination of desolation (the final AC proclaiming himself to be God while in the temple), has yet to come. The tribulation "never to be again" has not happened yet. To say the great tribulation has already happened would be to say the 2nd coming has also came and we are in the millennial kingdom, which we are not. While the stones of the second temple have truly been thrown down, just as Jesus prophesized, the rest has not. Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation, all need to be viewed in context as well.
That is what I thought he was saying that the great tribulation has already occurred. This is a seven year event not just the destruction of the temple.

Yes you have the Roman's taking over the temple in 70 ad, you have the Spanish inquisition and slavery by the papal bull.. people love to dismiss history from Jesus death until now... the time of gentiles started when Roman took over the temple and one of the Roman emperors even sat in the temple as stated by the scriptures.. people need to not dismiss history and also the series of events that occurred. Also this was a book if a specific family people love to insert themselves in a book written about the accounts of a particular family bloodline.

Good analysis, but it's possible he's misunderstood the meaning of 'this generation'. The book of Revelation was written around AD95, the destruction of the temple was in AD70. Yes, many of the facts in Matthew 24 happened in AD70, but the abomination of desolation is mentioned both before and after AD70 in the letters written by Paul and John in particular. The abomination of desolation involves the antichrist's reign of 42 months (1260 days) before Jesus returns and destroys him and the final plagues are poured out. So perhaps a more appropriate view is 'this generation' means the future generation that is present when the antichrist and great tribulation arrive in line with other prophecy like Daniel, Revelation, Thessalonians, etc. Plus, the mark of the beast is a global issue where nobody will be able to buy or sell without it. That is certainly possible today in our technological age, but highly improbable almost 2000 years ago

Almost all New Testament scholars now take the view that Revelation was written during the reign of Domitian, sometime around 95-96 CE.

This poses a big problem for the preteristic view. Preterists believe the Book of Revelation was a prophecy written by the apostle John describing events that would shortly come upon Jerusalem and the Jewish people as their city would be destroyed by the Romans.
For the preterist view to work, the Book of Revelation has to have been written sometime prior to A.D. 70.
But there is compelling evidence in the writings of the church fathers that the Book of Revelation was written approximately 25 years after the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.
For example, consider Irenaeus. He lived from A.D. 120-202. He was the bishop in the city of Lyons in modern day France. He grew up in Smyrna, one of the cities where the Book of Revelation was first circulated (Rev. 2:8). He was a disciple of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John (the author of Revelation).
So get this in your mind…Polycarp was a disciple of the apostle John (the author of the Book of Revelation) and Irenaeus was a disciple of Polycarp. If anyone knew when the Book of Revelation was penned, it would have been Polycarp or Irenaeus!

So glad to see you study the scriptures for WHAT IT SAYS and that alone. What you are unpacking is contrary to PreTrib doctrine and it needs to be heard. There are so many verses that challenge PreTrib theology, and it starts with this. The Olivet Discourse is mostly, not all, but mostly about 70 AD. Some verses may be about 70 AD AND the end times, and only a few seem to be just about end times. Recently learnings about 70 AD has made end times passages so much more clear. Good job!

This generation in verse 34 is referring to the generation that will see ALL these thing happen in their lifetime that started in verse 4.
Verse 21 “then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
The temple being destroyed in 70 AD was not the worse tribulation that will ever be. It was only in Jerusalem, not the whole world like Rev 3:10 states.

@@jimwest5027 Hi, Jim! I suggest looking into Chuck Missler's teaching on the 7 letters to the 7 churches. There are at least 4 different ways to apply the 7 letters:
1) Each letter was a specific message to a specific church.
2) Jesus specified the letters to be read by all the churches.
3) John wrote them out for the benefit of all local congregations -- to learn from all the letters collectively. You can profile, if you will, your own local body; how much like Smyrna or Ephesus or Sardis are we? What do we need to work on?
4) I'm not sure how recently it was recognized, but someone noticed that if taken in the order given in Revelation, the letters provide a very enigmatic overview of all church history. Ephesus, the apostolic church; Smyrna, the persecuted church; Pergamos, the medieval church; Thyatira, the Catholic church; Sardis, the Protestant church; Philadelphia, the missionary church; and Laodicea, the apostate church.
So per 1 & 2, they were written for a specific time, but Jesus & John intended that all the church should learn from it. By # 3, if something in Revelation 2:10 applies to you, take it to heart. If instead, Rev. 3:10 applies to you, take that to heart. The thing about #4, is if they were in any other order, this wouldn't work! Here's where it gets interesting. The last 4 churches seem to have express references to Jesus coming again, implying they will be around in some form when Jesus comes, whether that's the harpazo or when He comes riding on a white horse. I believe those to be two different events.
I agree. It seems to fit very well in context. He just finished describing signs, then said in verse 29 that you can recognize the signs that summer is here (per the fig tree as an example). Immediately after, he says when you see these things taking place, you know the kingdom is near, followed by, this generation will not pass away. It's clear in context this is talking about those who see the signs. I think the signs will be much clearer and more global than anything we've ever seen in history, and then a worldwide tribulation.
Now check out Luke who gives the same signs, and clearly indicates that something would happen in Jerusalem BEFORE all the signs. Interesting. So Matthew and Luke are not talking about the same event in Jerusalem? Hmm. We must be careful when attempting to "harmonize" the gospels that we don't miss where they really are different. It's very possible the 70 AD event IS covered in Luke (matches up pretty well) but not in Matthew (you have to stretch a few statements to get it to "match" the same event)
Jesus is saying there's a pre trib rapture.
BEFORE "THIS GENERATION," it says, " _NOW....learn the parable of the Fig Tree...when it's branch becomes tender and puts for leaves...summer is near_ " THEN... it says, _this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place_ " The " _Now learn_ " is Jesus adding on top of what He was asked.
In Mark 13 Jesus says, " _And the gospel must first be preached to ALL the nations_ " Did that happen prior to 70AD? No. So, those claiming all end time prophecy was fulfilled in the 1st century don't have a leg to stand on. But, if we consider how because of the internet, the Gospel is now in every nation, this prophecy appears to have been fulfilled in just these last few years.
What nation is without the Gospel?
The claim here is that "The Great Tribulation" is not the end of the world or the coming of "the antichrist," as today's prophecy teachers would have us believe. Jesus used the word "tribulation" to describe the destruction of the temple in 70 AD. If you read Josephus's account of this event, it was a great tribulation, indeed. The horrors faced by the Jews of that time were like nothing ever heard of. Josephus also records that not one Christian was killed in this invasion because they had fled to the mountains when they saw the signs, just as Jesus told them to. When you read the history of this event, you will understand why Jesus spoke so solemnly on the matter and why He urged His followers to watch for the signs of what was to come.
Jesus said, "The gospel must first be preached to all the nations," this was the Job of Paul the Apostle, which he did. Jesus said that we can't put new wine in old bottles what he meant was that the old Judaism was not compatible with the New Covenant so the old Covenant did not pass away until about 40 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. When Paul's work was done and the Gospel had been planted in the world then the end of the Jews as a nataion took place. Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD This is the end Jesus was speaking of. People make the mistake of thinking He was talking about the whole world's end.

With all due respect and camaraderie in the Lord, I've studied this topic for many years as a Christian, I lead a bible study on the topic, studied bible theology in college, and I am in no way convinced that any of what you've said is correct. I believe the Preterist view is wrong for many reasons, but for one it professes to call God a liar. His covenants with Israel are _irrevocable_ (Romans 11). God is not done with Israel, the 70 weeks of Daniel is on pause and was not completed. Only 69 weeks are complete, one week still remains.
To your comment about the New Covenant verses the Old. Matthew 5:17... the old was fulfilled in His death, burial, and resurrection, but the Old was not " _destroyed_ " ' kataluō: ' Meaning: to loosen down (disintegrate), to demolish; specifically to halt - destroy, dissolve, overthrow, throw down. Otherwise, what about the Davidic Covenant? Destroyed? I don't think so.
Paul did not go to the entire world. Did he preach throughout Europe? Asia Major? Africa? etc...
Preterism is a scam. Be very cautious with that belief as it leads to all sorts of false doctrines.

Josephus gives a good history of the Destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. He even describes the abomination where the armies sacrificed after the holy place was destroyed.

The sun, moon and stars are metaphors for Israel, remember Joseph's dream. Israel was called to be a light to the nations but when they rejected the messiah they brought judgment upon themselves. So the sun going dark, the moon turning to blood and the stars falling from heaven is symbolic of Israel's light being extinguished in judgement.

A wise Bible College professor once said (I was there) that "wisdom would decree that when forming doctrine on a given subject, one should first go to the most complete passage on that subject, then fill in missing pieces from smaller passages."
I agree with this professor. He read about the abomination that will divide the 70th week. Where is the most complete treatise on the 70th week in Scripture? That would be in the book of Revelation, that includes 9 chapters on Daniel's 70th week. Where then, in Revelation do we find this abomination? We won't. God did not include that in the visions shown to John, so John did not write about it.
However, Jesus did tell those in Judea, when they SEE the abomination, they are to immediately flee for their lives. We find that fleeing in Rev. 12:6. Therefore, 12:6 is only seconds after the abomination and the division point of the 70th week (two equal halves). It is no mistake then that chapter 13 in Revelation explains the days of great tribulation that Jesus spoke of. John explains that the Antichrist Beast will create both an image and a mark, and late in Revelation 14, will begin to enforce them. If anyone refuses to bow, or refuses the mark, they will be beheaded.
Just before this, God will send angels to warn the people: if anyone takes the mark, they will be DOOMED to fire and brimstone forever. (Taking the mark of the Beast is a VERY serious offence against the Most High God, and His Son, Jesus Christ.)
Without the mark, no one can buy or sell. Drinking water will become impossible to find outside of stores. GREAT PRESSURE will be put upon people to take the mark. If anyone is left behind at the pre-tribulation rapture, the wisest thing to do would be to just turn themselves in, lose their head, and make it to heaven as a martyr.
This is what "those days" of "great tribulation" is all about. It is about being forced to receive a mark with the penalty of refusing to lose one's head. There will be few places around the world where anyone can hide.
Since the trumpet judgments fill up the first half of the 70th week, and they have never happened, all this (the entire 70th week) is FUTURE. Jesus was therefore speaking of the generation that sees all the signs Jesus talked about, happening at the same time.
As I began to outline the signs, merging the three accounts together, I am noticed somewhat of a pattern forming. It's a similar pattern seen in the Exodus and in Revelation. Still working out the exact pattern but in general so far it looks very similar: Conflict>Persecution>Witness>Preparation>Tribulation>YHWH Triumphs>Rescue.

Stephen affirmed Jesus Christ was preparing to come back to Earth, to pour out His wrath on unbelieving Israel and unleash His righteous fury on sinful mankind. but God had another plan, “the Dispensation of the Grace of God” (Ephesians 3:1-11), & set aside His wrath in order to have mercy on Christ-rejecting Israel & unbelieving gentiles. For almost 2,000 years, that wrath has been delayed. The Great Tribulation is still yet to come. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The Romans came to conquer Judea and Jerusalem two times. But when they came the first time they withdrew for some reason ( God had put it in their minds) and then they came back later and the war began in 66AD and lasted till 70 AD, so three years and a half. They destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in the end. That's the end of the age. Not the end of the world. But the followers of Jesus were warned before by Jesus and they fled to the mountains ( Pella) and escaped the judgment of God. For rejecting Jesus Christ as the Messiah.
So this is all history, like the rest of Matthew 24. It's not speaking about our time.

This video hits home to me because I have always believed that Yeshua in Matthew 24 was speaking of two different events, 70 AD and the razing of the Temple and then Daniel's 70th week. It appears he may understand that the destruction of the temple occurred in 70 AD as Jesus prophesied, while the literal removal of the foundation stones occurred in 135 AD, scattering the Jews to all the nations. This is why Jerusalem can never again be destroyed and why there is no Abomination of Desolation found in the book of Revelation.

With the state of current world situations it is definitely time to seek the Lord while He may be found. God’s mercy is an extension
of His grace and proceeds out in all directions from the circle of the church of which He is the center. When He withdraws His
mercy, we better be inside the circle, within the confines of Grace, under the shadow of the Almighty. Prayer and fasting, fasting and
prayer, I know what it takes to get the Lord’s attention. When there is no food, we will fast and under persecution, we will pray.
Some people don’t believe fat meat is greasy, but wait till it hits the fire. God help us all.

So enjoyed your video. I use to be a pre trib rapture guy but now more than 4 years or so now have come to this conclusion that the story line is about the Kingdom of GOD and not a taking away. Many Christians have a hard time with the concept of the Kingdom of GOD since Christ arrival because how people are taught about it.

Many times in scripture a passage will have 2 profetic fulfillment. This is one of them, that is why so many people get confused. There is a rebuilt temple in Revelations, as described in Ezekiel!

The word "generation" in Matthew 24:34 can also mean a race of people or decent/lineage. That completely changes the timeline and better fits what we've observed historically. ΓΕΝΕΑ
I always thought the "Temple" was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD and the tribulation is yet to come.
Or the end of the old covenant age. Which ended when the temple was destroyed.

Some try to make “this generation” mean “this race of people”. Christ uses the Greek word “genea” (translated into English alphabet) which from the context and Greek lexicons means the contemporary age of men He was speaking to, about a 40 year span. If Christ wanted to convey “race or nation” He would have used the Greek word “genos”. The Great Tribulation happened in the first century AD. It can be argued that there were 3 1/2 years of Roman tribulation on the Christians from Nero, then 3 1/2 years of Roman tribulation on the Jews with the siege of Jerusalem culminating in the destruction of the Jewish temple (if you must have 7 years of tribulation.)

Mat 24..."this generation.." in v34 would more specifically refer to the previous verse where he is speaking about "when you see all these things you know that he is near..." I understand why your desire would be to find it in the generation that Jesus was living in but in the context of the previous communication can we really jump away from its context to another gospel account rather than the context of its previous sentences?

Pertaining to the man of sin, read Jocephus, whom was an eyewitness to the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The revelation that Peter told his audience they would witness, 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Ananus was the high priest when the song of Moses (Deuteronomy 32) was being fulfilled, "last days", being sung in Revelation 15. He was killed by the Idumeans and replaced with a "false" high priest named Phannias. There is a possibility that Phannias is the man of sin spoken of by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Obviously, the Thessalonian church members knew who was holding him back, (Paul said they knew him), probably the high priest Ananus, until he was murdered. This is just a thought, read Jocephus and most importantly the prophets for the dates. The New Testament is written by Jews, and they will tell you that their doctrine comes from the prophets. Matt 24:35 to my mind points to a foreshadowing of all the things happening not only for 'this generation' of Jesus day, but also todays generation.
Even when 'this generation' of Jesus day passes, Jesus words still stand in effect... meaning it could happen again because His words/warnings are still in effect...

I respectfully disagree with Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." I believe at this time that heaven and earth represents the Temple that is physically and symbolically destroyed in 70AD in Jerusalem (in Judea) after the roman (gentiles) army surrounded it . The Temple was where God (heaven) and man (earth) met until Jesus and his new covenant started. The end of Jewry and beginning of Christianity so to speak, as the sentence ends with Jesus saying his word will go on. This answers their question on the destruction of the Temple.

I get why you came up with the interpretation of Matthew 24, I would refer you to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 when it comes to the rapture.
We were told we would be spared the wrath of God which is not the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation is the persecution of Christians by man. Rev 6:9-11 are those who die martyrs. Rev 7:9-17 are the multitudes of Christians who come out of the Great Tribulation, left alive until the coming of the Lord and are caught up to Christ as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. If you believe you will be spared tribulation you will not be prepared to endure. You will lose faith.
After spending some time reading the Torah, it is clear to me that the Israelites consistently turned away from God, God kept having to put them through some sort of tribulation to keep them on track. Even in the promised land, they messed up. They were told that a prophet would be sent and how to identify Him. Pity the Jews do not read further than their Torah.
Israel was born twice in 1948. Ounce Jacob 1948 BC. The country in 1948 AD. The parribel of the fig tree speaks of the generation not passing away until the tribulation. Godspeed brothers and sisters.

1. Because Christ told the Jews the Great Tribulation would begin when they saw the abomination of desolation (spoken of by Daniel the prophet) stand in the Holy Place (Matt. 24: 15). There is no evidence that the parallel visions of Daniel 7, 8, 9, 11, & 12 were fulfilled in A.D. 67-70, and yet such evidence is needed to prove that “that generation” saw the “abomination of desolation” which set off the “Great Tribulation.”
2. Because there was no visible coming of Christ in the first century. The world would not have missed such an event had it happened, for Christ said His coming would be like lightning, shining from the east even unto the west (Matt. 24: 27).
3. Because the view has no Biblical analogy. God always sent His prophets to address Israel as a corporate body. There is not one instance in Scripture in which a certain generation of Israelites was singled out to receive teachings that would expire when they ‘passed away.’ The curses of Deut. 28 were spoken by Moses to the “generation in the wilderness,” and yet according to Preterists they weren’t fulfilled until 1,500 years later! Obviously both Moses and his antitype Jesus Christ were addressing Israel as a corporate body.
4. Because there was no resurrection of the dead in A.D. 70. To claim that there was is a gratuitous assumption, with no proof whatsoever to back it. Previous resurrections mentioned in Scripture were verifiable events (e.g. John 11: 43-45; Matt. 27: 52-53). Why would the wholesale resurrection of believers be any different? Moreover, Daniel places resurrection in connection with the Great Tribulation (Dan. 1-2). This gives us an important hint (see Reason #1) that the Preterist theory of “this generation” is mistaken.
5. Because the Roman armies were never destroyed in A.D. 70. According to Scripture, when Christ returns He will fight against the nations that attack Jerusalem (Zech. 12: 9, 14: 3; cf. Isa. 66: 15-16; Zeph. 3: 8).
6. Because the Jewish nation was never converted in A.D. 70. According to Scripture, Christ will only come back when the Jewish nation repents (Matt. 23: 39; Acts 3: 19-21; Zech. 12: 10). When the siege is lifted by Messiah, blindness will be permanently removed from the Jewish nation (Isa. 29).
7. Because the alleged ‘tribulation’ of A.D. 67-70 was strictly local in nature. But according to Scripture, the real tribulation is to include “all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues” (Rev. 7: 9-14). It is likened to “an hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world (kosmos) to try them that dwell upon the earth” (Rev. 3: 10).
8. Because the early church knew nothing about any parousia happening in the 1st century. The view that there was an invisible, hypothetical ‘coming of Christ’ in A.D. 70 is a product of post-Reformation theology. As Thomas Ice has correctly stated: “It was not until the seventeenth century that we have an extant record of anyone suggesting anything like a preterist view that refers Matthew 24:27 and 30 to a.d. 70.”
9. Because the Olivet Discourse was spoken privately to Peter, James, John, and Andrew (Mark 13: 3), three of whom never lived to see the destruction of the temple; whilst John himself was nowhere near the vicinity of Jerusalem when the temple was destroyed. Thus when Christ says, “When YE shall see all these things” (Matt. 24: 33), it is obvious that His predictions involve the nation, and not His immediate audience.
10. Because lexicons and concordances always list ‘race/nation’ as an accepted rendering of the Greek word ‘genea.’ The Septuagint warrants this usage in several places (Gen. 31: 3, 43: 7; Lev. 20: 18, 25: 41; Numbers 10: 30; Jer. 8: 3, 10: 23). Also, when the KJV was first published in 1611, the English word “generation” was often used to denote a race or nation. An early Bible dictionary even lists Matt. 24: 34 as a proof-text for this usage. For more info, see “The Quarterly Journal of Prophecy.”

Couple questions:
1. Mark 13:12 refers to people being killed but also "the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." Likewise Luke 21:19 "by your patient endurance you will gain your souls."
If once saved always saved, what is this talking about?
2. If all those not found written in the book (rev 20:15) are thrown into the lake of fire, who are those outside the city in Rev 22:14-15?
1. It would seem that you can't just say the sinners prayer one time and then live your life however you want and expect to be saved.
2. Inside the city are the righteous, outside are the wicked who have been destroyed in the lake of fire.
The Destruction of the Temple is not the same thing as the Abomination of Desolation _STANDING_ in the Holy Place. Daniel is referring to the idolatry of an idol placed in the Holy Place which had happened before. It's a repeat of a past event which was not a destruction of the temple, it was a defiling of it.
Exactly! It will be the Anti-Christ who will defile the Temple. My Pastor is an expert on Eschatology and he took us through a six month, verse by verse study on the End of Days.

In the original Greek, it simple describes it as a time of *great suffering.* the Bible calls this time period by several titles throughout the Bible:
The day of the Lord- Zechariah 1:19
The hour of testing- Rev 3:10
Jacobs Trouble- Jeremiah 30:7
Daniel’s Seventieth week- Daniel 9:24-27 *Also known as God’s prophetic time clock
Great day of His wrath -Rev 6:16-17
Day of vengeance-Isaiah 34:8
Time of the end-Daniel 12:9
The hour of His judgement-Rev 14:7
The end of the world- Matthew 13:40
The indignation-Isaiah 26:20
Time of trouble as never before-Daniel 12:1
So how does this specific day of wrath effect the Church? It won’t according to 1 Thess 1:10, 1 Thess 5:9, Romans 5;9 and Rev 3:10- these say We will be kept out of it before it starts..

The destruction of the temple, is talking about the end of the churchage, Matthew 24:15, 1stPeter 4:17.
Verse 35 is actually describing the end day period of the earth. Found in Revelation.

The Desolation of Abomination happens twice. Once in 70 AD, the second has yet to occur. “This generation” means the generation in which the events take place.

Though, there is an issue with your view on vs 35:
Matt 24:35 is temple typology that would have been familar to the 1st century church- the 'heavens and earth' = was the temple and the system of Judaism that governed it. So, it still connects Jesus' thought pattern back to vs 2: "Not one stone shall be left upon another = heaven and earth shall pass away."
Going further to vs 37 He includes 'the coming of the Son of Man' - this connects back to vs 3, in still answering their questions "what will be the sign of 'your coming'?" and to vs 27, referring to how quickly He comes and in what direction He will come (the Roman armies came from "East to West" in the siege of Jerusalem), but also in Matt 10:23 where He told them that they would not have finished going through the towns of Judea before He comes and in Matt 16:28 when He connected their generation again as "some of YOU(THEM) standing HERE (there in front of Him as His 1st century audience) shall not die before they see the 'Son of Man coming in His kingdom'...🤔
So you simply cannot separate Jesus' context at vs 35, theres just no merit for it! 😉👍
Again, excellent study! The first half of Mt. 24 is primarily dealing with the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. The second half, with His (Parousia), His second coming! The first would be preceded by signs and events which would help His disciples escape. But the second judgment comes without warning, like a thief in the night, in which no one will escape. Hence, the message to be ready!
Matthew 24:30-31 specifically ties Christ's coming to the first event. Great tribulation will precede Christ's return just as it foreshadowed the fall of the second temple.
@@gwilson314 The expression, "and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (v. 30), does not refer to a literal coming of the Lord, but is a continuation of symbolic language signifying something else! It is similar to the prophecy of God's judgment against Egypt:
"Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud,
And will come into Egypt;
The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence,
And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst" (Isaiah 19:1).
The Lord did not literally come into Egypt, nor did he literally ride upon a swift cloud. He did, however, come in judgment against Egypt. Likewise, in our passage, His "coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory" (v. 30), in the immediate context, symbolizes the triumph of Christ.

This is very dangerous for you and for those you are trying to get to agree with you. I feel it's necessary to point out to you, that you did not get that doctrine from Scripture. No where in Scripture does it say that Christ won't be coming back the way He said He would. Your doctrine is not from Scripture but from man.

Jason, you are a little confused between Matthew and Luke. Matthew is telling them future events about the tribulation or Daniel 70th week. Luke starts off mentioning tribulation events but then switches to the now and specifically tells the Jews to get out of town when Jerusalem is becoming surrounded. Matthew 24:4-8 talks about the beginning of the tribulation, (7 Seal Judgements) and so does Luke 21:8-11. In Matthew 21:9-20 is the Trumpet judgements and then verse 21 to 35 is the great tribulation or the bowl judgements right up to His second coming.
In Luke it is a little different, we have the seal judgements up to verse 11, then Luke changes things up by saying in verse 12, "But before all these". Now Luke is talking about now and to watch for the signs from verse 12 to 22, he is telling them about the coming destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD. Then verse 23 picks up where he left off at verse 11 and is describing the great tribulation. It has to be different because Luke says "before these things" and Matthew says "Then they shall deliver up" Luke mentions Synagogues Matthew does not. Matthew is all about Daniel's 70th week or the 7 year tribulation and Luke is not. Where it says "this generation will not pass til all be fulfilled", in both Matthew and Luke is talking about the generation during the tribulation.

What is your scriptural basis for splitting up all of Yeshuas words? Instead of just reading them as he spoke them to a first century Jewish audience. The Bible was not written TO us in the 21 century, it was written FOR us. We need to remember the words had meaning to the original audience.

We can't skip over v.14 in mathew 24 because Jesus clearly tells us the end is not based off an event but yet a message, the message of the kingdom then the end will come. Which is the only message Jesus preached.

What about 2THESSALONIANS 3-4? Is not this referring to the abomination of desolation or no? If so, the man of sin is the abomination of desolation, who shall be worshipped along with his image. What Paul mentions concerning the man of sin is mentioned in Revelation 13 also. So it seem that Jesus is speaking tribulation that will not cease until He comes. It's gradually escalates until the hour of temptation that shall come upon the whole world (Revelation 3:10), which is actually making reference to the worship of the man of sin and his image and people being forced to receive his mark or not be allowed to buy and sell. Tribulation has been used many times in the old testament and the New. It refers to a time of trouble, either caused by Man or the act of God.
Heaven and earth pass away about 2,500 to 3,000 years from now. It happens after the millennium, and after the Day of Judgment.
Maybe the verse about heaven and earth passing but his words will not pass is referring to the heavens and the earth as we knew it passing and being unrecognizable?
So this is what preterists hold too.
The problem i.have with this is that in revelations, the references to "great tribulation " and what happens there are world wide. Every mountian falling from its place, half the world population dying. These things did not happen in 70AD.
Thats presents us with a problem.
The secret rapture doctrine contradicts the words of Christ in Matthew chapter 13 when He said that the wheat and tares would grow together until the "end of the world" and then would be separated. According to the two-stage teaching of His coming, both groups would not grow together until the end of the world. The righteous would be separated from the wicked seven years before the end. And what about the promise of the resurrection? Christ said, concerning the righteous, "And I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40). No one denies that this means the last day of the world. Yet Paul declares that the saints are caught up to meet the Lord at the same time the dead in Christ are raised. He says, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17).
Please keep in mind that Jesus called this resurrection the "last day." But how could it be the "last day" if this gathering of the saints takes place seven years before the end of the world? And how could the "last trump" sound if it really wasn't the very last moment of time?
Can you imagine the graves opening and the righteous rising and no one knowing that it had occurred? And consider this additional testimony of the Word of God:
Revelation 6:16,17 When the wicked see Christ come, they cry out to the rocks and mountains, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
Matthew 24:27 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
1 Corinthians 15:52 "For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised."
Psalm 50:3 "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence."
Revelation 1:7 "Every eye shall see him. "
Matthew 24:30 "Then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
Matthew 24:31 "He shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (This is clearly the time when Christ comes to gather His saints.)
To say that the second coming of Christ to gather His saints will be secret, in view of these clear texts of Scripture, and in the absence of any text that even hints at His coming being secret, is to deny the Bible as the Word of God. In an attempt to uphold their contrived theory, the rapturists quote Matthew 24:40, 41 out of context. Notice this entire passage:
"But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating
and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left" (Matthew 24:37-41).
Jesus is clearly drawing a parallel between the second coming and the days of Noah. Those who entered the ark in Noah's day were saved, and those who refused to enter the ark were left outside. But what were they left for? For another chance? No, obviously they were left to be destroyed by the Flood. So, says Jesus, will it be when He comes at the end of the world. One will be taken to heaven with Jesus, and the other will be left for destruction. Verse 51 makes clear what will happen to those who are left: "And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Read Luke 17:26-37 for Luke's parallel account of these same words of Jesus. In verse 36, this statement is made: "Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left." Now notice verse 37 and the question the disciples asked: "And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord?" They wanted to know where those who didn't go to heaven were going to be left. Notice Jesus' clear answer: "And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."
Take note how Jesus taught that the bodies of the wicked are going to be left on the ground for the eagles to consume. Scripture is too plain to be misunderstood. Only as we accept all that the Bible says can we be safe from such deceptive teachings that are confusing millions of sincere Christians today concerning this most glorious event of all ages, the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Now, I realize that the rapturists hang onto the texts that liken the Lord's coming to "a thief in the night." They assume that this must be a quiet, secret coming. But does it really mean that? Let's show that it definitely does not. Here is one of those texts in 2 Peter 3: 10: "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat." Obviously the "thief' part has nothing to do with secrecy because the heavens will pass away with a great noise! And if coming "as a thief' is the secret rapture which takes place seven years before the end of the world, how can the heavens and earth "pass away," as Peter describes it? The heavens and earth could not pass away seven years before the world ends - that is the end!
The fact is that Jesus Himself explained clearly just how a thief's coming could be related to His coming: "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up" (Matthew 24:42, 43). There it is, so plain and simple! The thief would come unexpectedly when the owners were not looking for a thief. In the same way, His coming would take people by surprise. They would not be watching or looking for it
The secret Rapture doctrine. No secret Rev 19 the Bride is in heaven preparing to return with Christ to rule and reign for 1000 years . Question , how and when did Bride get heaven if no Rapture?

I always struggle to follow all these different views and beliefs. Frankly, I don't care, my trust is in our Lord and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven
According to this interpretation, it seems to lend itself to the preterist viewpoint, meaning that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD marks the complete fulfillment of the whole book of Revelation. Therefore, we are in the Millennium and the rapture is post-millennial and not premillennial.
