Hey all, Editor Xander here! For those of you who are new here, welcome! Please enjoy yourself and have fun watching! Re: Spoilers... Not only will I be editing this reaction series, I also will be moderating comments for spoilers. Despite some evidence to the contrary in this video (;-D), Angela can be a very intuitive reactor. She can glean information about future events in the show from seemingly innocent and/or vague hints in the comments section. So, I will be going through and if I see something that could potentially comprimise the reaction, I may make the decision to remove the comment. Please know that this is a subjective process on my part, and will probably evolve as Angela gets further into the series, and gains more context of the story. If you post something that gets removed, it's no big deal, since I won't be banning people for posting hints, just removing comments and then immediately forgetting the name of whoever posted it :D. That said, I WILL be banning people who are clearly maliciously or repeatedly spoiling things. This is all to ensure the best experience for Angela, myself, and the viewers. Thanks!
Wise decision editor Xander, for me too this is a new series that I will watch together with Angela and I would be upset if there are spoilers in the comments, for the good of the channel and the subscribers, I support the idea, Angela is lucky to be your editor :)
It's the same with Fringe back in the day. The main reason is that the general U.S viewer doesn't care much for science fiction. On TV science fiction really had a decline in popularity after the year 2000. Before that a lot of science ficition shows such as X-Files easily went for 7 seasons or more. These days you hardly see it.
@@pinkpenzu Black Mirror was popular enough to stay on for multiple seasons, but nothing that bleak & disturbing for the general public is 'really popular'. And sci-fi can't include a dystopian setting? I'd say it's as much sci-fi as anything else. It's a show that deals w/a scientific application and its effects on human beings. That's what sci-fi largely is.
"She's having a child with that man" LMAO literally everyone's reaction. Great reaction and can't wait to see the reactions to the rest of the episodes! This series easily became one of my all time favorite shows
With the show finally on its way I’ve been finding reactions and it’s so funny cause it’s so true, especially knowing that by the finale a lot of people start to get it, even though he doesn’t change much, his book just happened to be at the right place at the right time, and we get the vibe thought the show that he’s kinda stupid, yes, but very loving and open, like a black cat and a golden retriever
If there ever was a series tailor made for Angela's sensibilities, this is it. I love that she didn't watch the trailer and is going in completely blind! Xander you are a rock star BTW.
"What's going on?" Is the best way to describe this show. The cold open is so amazing. I love that you're reaction to this, I feel like this is the kind of show made for people who are curious, pay attention and try to speculate what's going on, so you are a perfect fit.
its always fun how on your first watch youre guessing a lot of things simultaneously! this is criminally underrated and should be watched by a lot more people!
What I thought when I originally watched the first episode? "Let's binge-watch the whole thing right now!" I thought the cinematography, the colours, and the weird dialogues (and story) were super!
This show is utterly bizarre, unique, and fascinating. And a totally original concept. I've never seen a show like this. Very excited to see your reaction to it! This is definitely the thing where Adam Scott proves he is actually an acting powerhouse. His performance in this show is outstanding.
Watched this season the first time when I visited my Brother in New York. Was up late most nights wanting to continue to the next episode. So glad you're watching this! Me and my friends did a Watch Party for the whole season over the course of three days, we can't wait for the next season.
I remember thinking the same thing the first time I watched the show: 'he doesn't remember why he has it.' (the tissue) and also the 'what did I just watched'. This show is amazing on so many levels - it's refreshing, the writing is great, the acting is great, and the production and direction are also awesome. :) I hope you enjoy the show as much as I did!
Yay!! Today's the day!! Really excited to be getting into this with you (I HAVE watched it, but I'll be honest, I don't remember all the specifics). Happy to revisit it with you.
Hey, I thought we were going to part ways after The Expanse! I'm not really into much genre franchise TV or fantasy genre stuff. But here you are watching my favourite show from last year!
Sweet mysterious surreality! Feels like Office Space meets Twin Peaks! Great reaction, too! If I wasn't already subscribed, this show would have decided it for me.
My favorite new show of 2022. After I watched a few of your movies reactions, I'm glad to follow you on a show reaction (and it won't be the last according to the shows I saw you react to on your channel^^).
Finally have the cash free to subscribe to your Patreon! I discovered you through your Expanse reactions, and quickly loved your videos. I appreciate your emotional intelligence, and ability to empathize with characters. Thanks for providing excellent content! Really looking forward to this reaction, Severance is great!
I went in blind for this series as well. As a super picky viewer, I was very pleasantly surprised. Such good acting/writing/directing/cinematography. Love your reactions and your vulnerability. Can’t wait for you to eventually get to reacting to Station 11! Maybe Ted Lasso if you want to feel good about humanity for once 😅
OMG OMG OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE SHOW. Well not literally my favorite but definitely one of them. I’m so so so happy you’re reacting to this. It’s perfect for your style. So much to discuss before and after each episode. Hope you enjoy!!!
I can already tell that this is the perfect show for you. You picked up a lot of detail, and this show is very rewarding for people with a keen eye. It's so meticulously crafted, every aspect is just a delight. Looking forward to your reactions!
Eggsalad reaction. You're very perceptive; picking up on a lot of the best details/clues during the episode. This blew me away and had me hooked right from the 1st episode- so smart, incredible use of and maintaining of appropriate tone, and stellar acting. Stiller and the production crew really nailed it. Turturro and Walken together? Yes, please! Also, Ricken is a pseudo-intellectual douche, but yeah, a nice guy.
I am so glad you found this series! I just found it myself and I'm blown away with it(not gonna spoil don't worry). Really can't wait to see more of this!
Ben Stiller seems to have picked up a thing or two from his work with Wes Anderson - lots of the camera work, color use and pacing seems to be inspired by him.
There’s nothing wrong with feeling confused at this point. After an entire first season, EVERYONE is still confused…😂 And you’ll be happy to know that Ben Stiller directed most of the episodes.
Excellent reaction to what is easily and expectantly becoming my favourite piece of television, ever. Over hyping Severance is almost impossible.Full length on Patreon, easy, immediately.
Fantastic reaction to this crazy series! Just discovered your channel! Right away you were plugged into the look of it, which I love. Really looking forward to your thoughts on the rest of the series......everyone has their own ideas, and you are already no exception! Great eye, articulate, sensitive to nuance.......this is going to be a lot of fun!!!! Definitely this season does not let you down, I can promise you that much! See you on the next one. And thanks!
I believe the show takes place in modern day. If I remember correctly, the asthetics of the inside of the office is a intentional choice for the severed. No spoilers tho. It's such an awesome show. I think you'll dig it.
The hallway scene is one of my favorite scenes in recent tv history, and I think of the tissue as a symbol of Mark pain and baggage. When he’s crying in his car, he’s using the tissue to wipe away his tears, and after he’s severed he’s in a noticeably better mood. He then notices the tissue from his pocket and tosses it without another thought, even shoot it like it’s a basketball all playful like, you know. It just helps to illustrate the disconnect between his work and home life.
Easily a top 5 (top 3 I would say) from 2022. Every time I go back to the office (instead of working from home) I can´t help but "play" the corridor music in my mind... (which - although I love my job - I find it funny and kind of sad at the same time...)
This was a really disturbing series to watch. It made me feel like someone turned a Black Mirror episode into an entire series. Brilliant concept and execution, but it really made me shiver at times. BTW - Another series with a very original concept is Upload. More of a "dramedy", but very well done. If you're looking for another series to react to, Upload would be a good one to consider.

Really excited for someone to finally react to this show. Mark was sad outside. The tissue soaked in tears becomes a piece of light-hearted, playful gaming after he crosses into his Severed work life.
Was looking to put a show on while I ate and ended up not touching my food for like 30 minutes because I was so engaged. And it just gets better and better with each episode and that's all I'll say. Glad you're giving it a shot.

This show is brilliant. It reminds me of Dollhouse mixed with Utopia(UK). I feel Ben Stiller has a very dark opinion of corporate life. The show is very smart and well written. Excited to see you further explore this show.
I usually don't go to sit-coms and dramas. I legit have struggled to watch Succession, still halfway through episode 4 over a month ago. I usually like fun shows and such, and I hope this is one. Reaction channels make it easier, especially if I'm not subbed to the platform anyway.

It’s a dang masterpiece IMO.
I literally gasped when I saw you were reacting to this. Nobody is reacting to this but it’s an absolutely amazing show.
It’s a shame nobody’s reacting to it! It’s such an amazing show, and there’s so much to talk about!
Same with Silo. And i think Silo is even better then this one.
Not many people reacted to this show, if any at all. So I was very surprised and excited when you announced doing it!
There are actually now quite a few reactions to Severance, although I envision that the number will grow. This was a great one, though.
Syntell and Diegesis are good and funny channels who reacted on every episode of Severance 😉
It's a shame this show passed under the radar for so many people, it's a great show!
I just started it today. I legit thought it was some corporate drama
