Hello, I'm new to dispatching. My question is we have our own dispatching company. We have no trucks, no MC# and no DOT number. I was on the DAT load board and I saw a load that a driver ( owner operator ) acquired about. I called about the load and company was Total Quality Logistics. They told me that without a DOT / MC number, they cannot do business with is. C.H. Robinson said the same thing. Is this correct? Is the only way to make this work is to do business directly with shippers? What are your thoughts and your response would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

I have 2 questions if you don't mind, first you said that the documents needed from the carrier to take loads on there behalf my question is now when you call the broker about a load who do you identify yourself as, is you your own business name or you will say that you are the dispatch of a company and works under them.....second question is is it possible to make a video of documents that brokers need before and after accepting loads.

You can fill out your w9 on your own from the irs website! Just download a copy and fill in the blanks!
I know I’m late but what system you use to get digital signatures? Adobe?
I made my documents fillable with a 30 day free PDF filler acct, and I just email it to them. It should let them fill it out that way. A lot of people use adobe sign.

What platform do you use to send and have documents signed and then sent back to you? So there is no actual paper, its all electronic.
People use Jotform for that.

As long as your business name is on there you’re good. If they work for you/your business, then you’re good

What to do if a broker doesn’t pay on time?
Email them or call and figure out why. Sometimes paperwork was submitted incorrectly.
Great question. What if they are just really refusing to pay for no reason? What can you do to get your money? Do you file a motion on their credit line?

I actually got fired from my job, got my CDL & went to driving school, then did the owner operator thing with my fiancé. I got mentally burned out because we were running so hard for so long. Came home and did a dumb call center job and was like…. Nah.. my fiancé told me about dispatching and I literally quit that job after I got my first carrier. 😭
