While I am shocked that Deacon made it to the final, I have thoroughly loved the series. I think the bias towards Deacon by Colred has swayed the voting, but that is no difference than sports brackets and sorts analysts. Great job guys and thank-you for something fresh.

He was already my favorite epic, but now I am utterly convinced he's the best epic in the game. I don't think the channel bias towards Deacon will likely be enough though - the community bias towards Geo has been too well entrenched for too long for me to overcome alone. But maybe I've made some headway. I hope so.
I recently got Geomancer myself, And I use him a lot in Arena, classic and team Arena. He is a good answer to UDK. Put the HP-burn on him and let his team kill his own UDK. Which usually can be anoying is now really fun :) Also wanna add. My favorite is both of the finalist, I really love both Rector and Stag Knight aswell, but I would say Deacon is probobly the winner for me, but Geomancer is the one I have least experience with, and havent dissapointed me so far. So whoever wins I do 100% agree with that decision. (I did miss this event for some reason so I couldnt vote) :)

Great analysis by both of you and well reasoned, and argued. I know you may not believe me, but I'm so glad that this is the final. I unfortunately miss clicked Demytha in the last round while swinging my mouse back and forth and was not able to revote, which I lamented in the live stream later that day, so I'm so very happy Deacon made it through, even if it cost me points in the comp. This was absolutely the final I wanted to see, but I did honestly think it would be GSA, and Geo. My choice was head over heart, and heart lost the battle of hope over pragmatism, but won anyway, so nothing pleases me more. I will say that the only thing that holds Deacon back is the one thing that was not mentioned. Affinity... Affinity issues that Deacon has with landing his defence down on magic champs is something Geo's passive does NOT suffer from as he PLACES his hp burn so no weak hit. It really does not matter who, or what affinity Geo faces, his job gets done anyway everywhere, whereas, Deacon is often swapped out for someone like Dhukk the Pierced (if you have him) when facing magic affinity. That, imo, is what will bring Geo over the line in this battle of the giants in epic shoes. The fact Geo just works wherever you take him, from every dungeon except Phantom Shogun, to arena, to Hydra, placing his burn through poison cloud even, to DT bosses of ALL affinities... Unfortunately, Deacon doesn't do well against anything blue, anywhere, nor can he land through poison cloud in hydra. No surprise I'm going for Geo, but I'll not be salty if Deacon wins, he deserves to be in the final, and anything can happen in a final.
@Dharin. That's an interesting point about Geo's passive. I guess I would counter and say that both Deacon's speed aura and his Turn Meter fill are unaffected by affinity as well. Likewise, in order for Geo's passive to work, his HP burn needs to land first, and that IS affected by affinity. It doesn't seem to me that Geo is somehow more affinity friendly than Deacon. I might argue the opposite. I certainly don't take my Deacon out of teams against Magic affinity enemies most of the time. He does just fine. Thanks for the comment! pretty happy that the overall raid community agrees that geomancer is the best epic in the game. while deacon gives you great turnmeter control, leech, 2 turn aoe dec. def. and an speed aura, which makes him almost viable everywhere. geomancer just hardcarries every difficult part of the game, where the answers you have (especially early) are slim: spider: turnmeter, burn, weaken, aoe, passive, if needed stun set fk: turnmeter, burn, weaken, passive, waves with stunset ice golem: burn, weaken, passive, waves with stunset dragon: burn, weaken, passive , waves with stunset keeps: good sand devil: pretty good irontwins: completly solves irontwins, which alot of people even struggle to start with doomtower answer for: dark fae, bommal, frost spider, scarab king, nether spider, waves with stunset demon lord: easy UNM hydra: pretty good, especially early for fragments faction wars: pretty good, if needed stun set arena: also fine cursed city: pretty good, if needed stun set Might probably be the most valueable champion in the whole game until you reach late late game (obviously late late accounts can clear everything faster without geo, but geo is like 10 champs in 1) Deacon definitely has a little bit of a popularity boost because most people got him and maybe are sad about not having geo, but the outcome should be pretty clear. Im certain you don't have geomancer but what is your argument for deacon over geo? maybe end end end game account if you want to do everything fast, deacon is better, otherwise geo does everything.
I just built geo and he seems op. On problem is that geo is not a support. I was planning to have grand Oak buff his acc for iron twins but he is a attack champion.

@andreaconsolini7494 RG is a great champ, but I think Geo was the favorite all along. I'm not planning any new RAID MADNESS events in the near future. We will probably wait several months, at least. It's been fun, but it's a LOT of work, and it hasn't been as popular as we had hoped. We'll do it again at some point, though.

Seeker is part of my Clan Boss team and that's all. I don't use him anywhere else; Geomancer helps me beat every boss : Iron Twins, Hard Ice Golem, and so many.... He and his uncle Brogni are just unbeatable; Deacon is a better challenger than Seeker. Deacon is in my hard spider team, he is still useful when you reach late game
@Slimo74 At end-game, I still use Seeker in Clan Boss, several DT floors, secret rooms, and boss fights, 3v3 arena, faction crypts, all over Sintranos, and in Hydra. I'm not saying he should have beaten Geo - I think Geo should have won - but Seeker deserved more votes than he got IMO.
I wish I had known enough about the game to use a deacon code early. That being said I didn't get him until ~9 or 10 months in and 3 months later i still havent built him. I just got him so late and he's not a great specialist. Even ftp I don't dont know if he has significant value over replacement. One of my first 5* souls was Suiren, so I maxed her as a CB dps as soon as I figured out an unkillable team. And obviously I had Arbiter as my arena TM booster. Deacon could be usable if i wanted to make a 2nd speed team for TTA? But I've also had a Sachi (inc att+ bigger tm boost with no risk of sheep on the a3) that I took to 60 shortly before getting deacon. Once i get my hard dungeon teams+third hydra team down I'm sure ill max him for faster FW and Sintranos if nothing else. Geo was one of my first 5 epics so i probably overvalue him, but he's both a great generalist (he's been on my FK 20 team and Spider/Dragon 20 duo teams since i started farming them consistently, was also key for helping me get to g5 arena) AND specialist. For example, i just built a second, higher acc geo as an Iron Twins specialist (my first geo is high crit dmg low speed for an unkillable team). And there's STILL a reasonable chance I build a third that's either super fast or high res for arena. I will say I recently pulled a 2nd coldheart so he MIGHT get phased out of my FK 20 team if i get around to building her.
@peterbrown8455 The value you get out of any champion is going to be largely influenced by when you pull that champion. Either one of these champs would provide insane value during the first 6 months of an account. Eventually, they both slowly drop off but continue to be usable in late-game. If you prefer Geo, because that's the champion you know, then I totally support that vote. However, I would also say that Deacon would still provide you with good value where you are today on your account. Not that he's necessary. And you may prefer other champions. But I'm at end game, I've got 102 six-star champions at this point, and Deacon is still one of my top-5 most used champions. He's that good. Thanks for the comment!

you definitely underrate him even, he hard carries every dungeon and hard parts of the game, even tho he isn't the fastest, what you may be looking for in an "end-game" account, he can still do anything you want him to, whenever you want
Called the final... Geo is good but come now, Deacon a free champion to start the game, help with the newbie tourney and get you hitting most missions and challenges early. Replaces HK pretty easily so honestly your best epic for awhile.

@sgttoxiiczz The in-game rating system was the starting point, so yeah, the voting was gonna be screwed up no matter what. But that was part of the point, and part of the fun. As for the 1v1 tournament, I think it would be really interesting to see damage dealers go up against support. I bet Elva would go really far.

@user-ww1et9um6o I'm not sure what you mean by "deepest kit." I look at a champion like Seeker, or Doompriest, or Stag Knight, and I see incredible power and versatility in very simple kits. I think both Deacon and Geo have more complex kits than those champions. Geo clearly has the most "powerful" skill. I'd argue that Deacon has the more versatile and higher utility kit. So...deepest? I guess I'd say Deacon. Unless I'm misunderstanding the term.

This whole series has been phenomenal and I can't wait for the finale! Deacon is great and both deserve to be the top 2, but gotta go Geo.

There are substitutes for Deacon. No champion in the game does what Geomancer does

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - no champion in the game does what Deacon does either. Replacing him takes 2 champions.

geo for sure, like you said, Nr. 1 option in every hard part of the game, but you can't convince him that hes better than deacon

you definitely underrate him even, he hard carries every dungeon and hard parts of the game, even tho he isn't the fastest, what you may be looking for in an "end-game" account, he can still do anything you want him to, whenever you want

@amlord3826 2.5+ years in, Deacon is still in my top-5 most used champions. You may be giving away value. 😜
Called the final... Geo is good but come now, Deacon a free champion to start the game, help with the newbie tourney and get you hitting most missions and challenges early. Replaces HK pretty easily so honestly your best epic for awhile.

I understand your point, I feel like the voting has been heavily skewed by ftp/early/midgame players. But 1 v 1? What is the criteria for the battle - damage? Would you put aniri vs seer for damage? Lol
@sgttoxiiczz The in-game rating system was the starting point, so yeah, the voting was gonna be screwed up no matter what. But that was part of the point, and part of the fun. As for the 1v1 tournament, I think it would be really interesting to see damage dealers go up against support. I bet Elva would go really far.

@user-ww1et9um6o I'm not sure what you mean by "deepest kit." I look at a champion like Seeker, or Doompriest, or Stag Knight, and I see incredible power and versatility in very simple kits. I think both Deacon and Geo have more complex kits than those champions. Geo clearly has the most "powerful" skill. I'd argue that Deacon has the more versatile and higher utility kit. So...deepest? I guess I'd say Deacon. Unless I'm misunderstanding the term.
