This is wonderful. I love the commentary after Dr Turek. He’s a good man and I’ve been blessed to meet him and talk to him at a Fearless Faith Conference at Chino Hills Calvary Chapel with Pastor Jack Hibbs in 2016. I was also captured on film for “Can a Christian lose their salvation?” And it just popped up this year randomly after all that time.
Here is the simple answer...evil was never "created" it has always been. First, let's establish that God is love and is ALL good things and there is no evil within Him. Evil is when you have any separation from God. Evil is the absence of good. Separation from God means separation from the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
@@scottm4042I think it’s more like the existence of God introduces the existence of evil. It’s not that God created evil, evil is just the absence of God. Like how dark is the absence of light. God is the creator, God is good and God set forth the laws of the universe and morality. Choosing to go against God is evil, because if all that God created is good, then all that works against that is evil.
Actually its not hyper simple, rather it highlights a critical problem. Adam and Eve did not know good from evil until they disobeyed god, and only after disobeying god could they love god....but then they get punished for it.
Each one of us has a conscience. This conscience is tied to our heart and soul. Jesus speaks of the light which is good in doing good upon others with love, kindness, and compassion. This light is our true form like Jesus showed three of his apostles during the transfiguration on Mount Hermon. So we all have choice whether to do good upon others or to do bad. But many people who choose to do harm upon others are projecting what has done upon them. And then also emotions like jealousy, anger, hate, greed, lust, etc cause many to do harm to themselves or to others including taking a life of someone. This why is is important to adhere to Jesus teachings and his much wisdom towards loving one another. If we all did this in unity across the world evil would seize to exist. No more wars, no more famine, no more immorality, no more pain, no more tears, and no more death all erased by practicing in doing his fathers will. This is why a new heaven and earth will come to be.
You got to understand when God decided to create intelligent beings both spiritual and physical they was created in God 's image which required the greatest gift that could be bestowed on them was free will. Those who didn't appreciate that gift and those who do. God in his wisdom he chose to let them exist for all to see how important it is for his sovereignty to be accepted and to live by. After that has been proven then guess who will never be here gain to experience the full benefit of acknowledging God's sovereignty.
Sin was NOT introduced into the world “by the Fall of man” (should rightly be humankind). That very idea was constructed out of the ignorance of ancient Israelites (3000-4000 yrs ago) and carried over into the New Testament teachings of Jesus. That’s 1 reason both the Hebrew & the Christian texts are incorporated into the Christian Bible. Other reasons is a lot of the supernatural prophecies in the Hebrew bible are claimed to be fulfilled in the New. Even though every adult should know that “prophecy” in the sense of describing future events before they actually happen is nothing more than pure chance & never really happens with the identical details as the original prediction. In fact such predictions are always described in such nebulous & dubious details as to fit any number of future events. Here’s where “original sin” comes from… again it is born out of ancient ignorance of the physical universe on the part of those ancient Israelites. First; very few people in those days had any formal education. Most people simply learned a trade and that was their education. Everyone like today had to have a means of self support. Free public education did not exist. Their sources of “news” were rumor & innuendo, word of mouth, folklore, etc. And there were few if any “fact-checkers”. Take the Jewish historian Josephus… he lived in Rome. Jesus never visited Rome. So the only information Josephus had about the troublemaker Jesus was the reports from Jesus’ followers who did venture into Rome or other parts of the Roman Empire. All of those details were nothing more than hearsay !! Anyway… if anyone wants to understand original sin one should first study the science of physics. Q. # 1. If anyone wants to really understand original sin and at the same time study physics… if you insist there’s a creator/god you must first answer the question ; what did god make the entire universe out of ?? There’s a plethora of data. Everything is made out of … Atoms !! Or physical pieces of matter. If you know a little about physics & philosophy and have studied the very nature of matter, you should know the very nature of matter is inherently IMPERFECT. It’s imperfect because matter is in a constant state of change. And from philosophy one should understand the nature of perfection. Perfection is a concept that a thing is perfect “in every conceivable way” . Which means were such a thing to change it would no longer be that perfect thing !! Since matter changes all the time there is no such thing made of matter than is even capable of being Perfect. (That would also include Jesus’s physical body.) And that would also mean the “free-will” of intelligent physical beings would be imperfect as well. And since we didn’t create ourselves (according to theism) that means we played no role in making ourselves imperfect. Our imperfection would be the result of your creator by creating everything out of matter !! Is our imperfection something we should feel guilty about ?? Nope. But that guilt motivates believers to keep returning to church for some hypothetical “salvation”. And religion functions just like any other capitalist business. All they really care about is about (as institutions) is maintaining their customer base. And that’s one reason the leaders of various faiths oppose abortion. They know humans will die someday and they need a constant supply of new recruits on a generational basis.

God is patient and long suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish. The counsels and purposes of God are for Him to have a people in glory with Himself. God is an eternal being who knows the end of all things from the beginning of time. Lucifer was an angel of high regard who's heart was pumped up and his desire was to be superior to God. He rebelled with other fallen angels. Sin started. It was self will on Satan's (Lucifer's) part and self will is sin. The earth which was created perfect and to be inhabited as the prophet Isaiah tells us, was destroyed and became a mess. Then approx. 6000 years ago God reformed the earth and made it possible for man to be created and to live on the earth. The earth and the heavens were created any length of time you like, long before this. Man was created in innocence. God gave him instruction on how to live in the garden of Eden. Satan deceived Eve and she took of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She gave to Adam, who knew what he was doing, and was disobedient to God and sin entered into the world. Satan is the god (small g) of this world and man no longer has free will, it is now a sinful self will, under the influence of Satan, who is a liar and a deceiver from the beginning. Why does God allow it? I answered that question at the start of this comment. At the appointed time the Son of God came into this world to save sinners. He is sitting at the right hand of the throne of God now, patiently waiting till the last sinner is saved through Mercy and Grace. Then Christ will arise and come back to earth to judge the nations and the living. The great white throne judgement of the lost dead will take place approx. 1000 years later after the millennial reign of Christ on the earth. There is so much more I could add, but that is why evil continues. God is love and patient towards us.

Sex, money and power are good things he said, I never heard in scripture that was a good thing. Evil is like sin, it doesn't exist until you give it fruition. It's a thought not an action, once you act on that thinking to do malice it becomes Evil. If I'm wrong please enlighten me.
It all depends on how you use it. Sex is fine (and encouraged by the Bible) within marriage. The scripture about money is often misquoted. Money itself is not evil, the love of money is what is condemned. Power can corrupt but, again, it depends on the individual. People in positions of power can work in God honoring ways to accomplish great things for him.

Sorry Mr. Frank Turek but you are not answering the question directly, you know your bible and you should know that it is God himself who created evil, he claimed it very emphatically in Isaiah 45: 6,7 KJV I am the Lord there is no other, I form the light and create darkness I bring peace and CREATE evil ; I THE LORD DO ALL THESE THINGS. Man do evil things but man is not its source. Proverbs 16:4 The Lord made everything for His own purpose even the wicked for the day of evil. Hitler is a wicked person, the day of evil is the holocaust, evil therefore is part of God's plan.
And nobody noticed this ignorant fool saying that Jesus had to suffer to learn obedience. Is he now saying that god send Jesus to be crucified for His own sins??? Anyone with a brain would know that someone who says this about Jesus are clearly not guided by the Holy Spirit.
When you create “free will” it’s profoundly obvious that people will choose mathematically what is being defined as “Evil” over a period of time. This is obvious. Therefore, god is responsible for the allowance AND creation of evil directly and by default. Read that multiple times until you all grasp the simplicity of it. Your “God” defines the parameters and possibilities.
But God did not create "free will". No where the scriptures do you find free will of anything, on the contrary, you will find that it is God that only has freewill.

This is absurd and illogical. If a being, whether its Satan or Adam and Eve, has no concept of evil then that being cannot freely choose evil. You simply can't go from not having a sinful nature, to sinning and then becoming inherently evil.
@MG-ot2yr My friend, you saying "Satan or Adam and Eve, has no concept of evil" implies they have ZERO knowledge of ANYTHING. Satan was a Bearer of light. After Adam was created, he got a job immediately of naming the animals and managing what GOD has created. If they were created perfect, they have perfect understanding of what "GOOD" really means, and they were probably one of the wisest people who lived. Evil is "the absence of Good", or "NOT GOOD". God IS GOOD, which means HIM, His creation, His words, laws, instructions, commands are GOOD. So, people who were perfectly created are perfectly wise to know what "GOOD" means, and NOT following God's words or commands is NOT GOOD(Evil). The fact that they argued with the serpent means they're obeying God's command, but they end up NOT doing God's command. Implying they can freely choose between God's words, or NOT God's words.
God is not evil nor he created evil. Good is good and everything he does is good. Evil is the lack of goodness. Evil is not created and cannot exist by itself. Just like darkness does not exist by itself and cannot be measured. But light can be measured. Darkness its just lack of light. Light can exist without darkness but not the other way. So, when men do evil is just lack of light or lack of full understanding of the word of God in his/her life. Also, God is either good or evil, but he cannot be both. Men can be/do both, but God cannot be/do both. James 3:11-13 New International Version 11 Can both sweet and bitter water come forth from the same spring? 12 My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a vine produce figs? For even a spring of bitter water cannot produce fresh water

@@texantony2410that’s a solid take that I respect but I can’t see how it solves for the convo at hand regarding where evil comes from or who created evil

evil, bad. The reason I made that reply is, a lot of christians believe that they posses this thing called "freewill" which is an idol of the heart. They want this so bad that they will fight you to the end for it. They try to get God off the hook for creating evil, when God doesn't need anyone defending him. You are right, God is responsible for his creation and he has a plan (perfect plan). Ecclesiastes 1:13 an experience of evil (ra) has God given the sons of humanity to humble them by. Evil is meant as a contrast for Good. If you don't experience evil, then you won't know good.

OMG 😒 This guy sounds like his talking about a comic book (magic is not real)😱
What?
People dont play texantonys game he thinks he is Satan. Using scripture for his own humor trying get you upset. Very childish.
@@billswordsmith A perfect being cannot become imperfect, period. If it could, then it was flawed to begin with.
God didn't create us to be morally perfect because that would be logically impossible. We're not robots.
No wonder why people are confused with answers like this. God created evil, plain and simple.
He didn't though. He created rules and said if you break these rules you're evil. So he created the possibility for evil not evil itself.

That is exactly what God did, create evil. Isaiah 45: 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. The word evil is stongs h7451 Ra'. Translated "Evil" all though the bible as Ra'.
God is the creator of all, even evil.
This is why christians are blind. They read their bible but don't believe what is says.
No wonder why people uses this questions to not be held accuntable an excuse themselves For their sins interesting right!!!
Do you like free will?
Satan is an angel. Angels don’t have free will. Angels are messengers of God. Frank is making it up as he goes along.
Where in the Bible does it say that angels don’t have free will? How do angels fall and are then called demons if not for free will? I would really like some sources for you to back up this logic.
@ The Greek word for angel is messenger. Google the research. Angels are sent by God.
Angels do have free will
@@thomasehrlich8623
Created to be a messenger does not negate free will and created to be God’s image bearer does not negate free will. Free will by nature is the only means to chose love or rejection. Satan was created for a purpose to be a messenger does but used his free will to rebel. Just as Adam was created to be God’s image bearer and used his free will to rebel.
Satan rebelling is literal proof of free will existing (not to mention him convincing 1/3 to follow him). Also, if you're going to say something like that I ask for chapter and verse proving your claim.
I hate Frank Turek
As per Genesis, everything that God has created is very good. There is no evil or bad things anywhere. Nothing that God created, has the ability to do anything that is not very good. It is only human interpretation that something is evil. Actually, everything is good, including human interpretation of something as evil.
