The new season of the Webby award winning Official Prince Podcast has launched. Delving into the making of 1991’s Diamonds And Pearls and produced in collaboration with Paisley Park Enterprises, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Records, the new season launched on October 13 and will features 4 episodes dropping each Thursday, detailing the formation of Prince’s band The New Power Generation and the creation of his chart-topping 1991 album. As the ‘80s drew to a close, Prince set his sights on completely redefining his look, sound, and band for the new decade. In the first episode, host Andrea Swensson is joined by the founding members of the NPG (Michael Bland, Levi Seacer Jr., Rosie Gaines, Tommy Barbarella, and Sonny Thompson) who explain the process of how Prince assembled the live band.

On October 27 the Diamonds And Pearls deep dive exploration will be released via all physical, digital, and streaming partners, with the classic album remastered for the very first time, and featuring 33 previously unreleased studio tracks, live audio, as well as a previously unreleased 2+ hours of video concert performances from Prince’s legendary vault.
The reissue suite will be comprised of the following formats:
• Super Deluxe Edition (7CD+Blu-ray / 12LP+Blu-ray / audio-only download and streaming)
• Deluxe Edition (2CD / 4LP 180g vinyl)

Absolutely loved the first episode! Just a side note in case anyone in a key position reads these comments - is it possible to include a transcript on Spotify the way you can include lyrics? As someone who is hard of hearing, it’s definitely difficult to understand a lot of the phone interview recordings. It would be great to be able to follow along with a transcript. 💜
