Hello Brad, I'm Roshy from Bangladesh. Are you staying La Petite Salil sukhumvit soi 11 hotel. If yes then I just want to know how is the hotel for family with infant baby. What about the room, stuffs, bathrooms and other part pls let me know
Hi Brad, your hotel review especially the breakfast was spot on...I should know because I stayed there in September last year and ate breakfast there (of course that was before I discovered your channel otherwise I would have met up with you). By the way I hope you remembered to take the slippers...I did..😉👍👍
G'Day Kelvin No problem, we'll catch up with you next time you're in Bangkok. Thanks for sharing your story No, we forgot all about the slippers. 555 Have a great day Brad & Ta
Great boutique hotel, with genuinely friendly staff. Stayed there twice already. The new Mercure hotel across the Rd has good live music by the bar in the evenings. Will stay at Salil next time I’m at Bangkok.
Great video. The thing I enjoyed most about Soy 11 was the Above 11 Sky Bar, the views are amazing, and it's not overly expensive compared to other sky bars in Bkk. It would be fantastic if you could do a few sky bar reviews around Bkk
G'Day Bill Welcome to Our Life Thai Thank you so much for your generosity. Is there any particular area of Bangkok where you are wanting the hotel to be situated?
Our Life Thai hey Brad. Just as much as that can get you. I really have no idea what the highest end hotels cost there. So just the best you can do on the donation. Also what else I mentioned in the PayPal message.
Great review guys, good to know about the parking. The breakfast look like the usual Thai style hotel food with continental as well. Thanks guys. great work. Shane. (Changed my youtube name ;) )
G'Day Shane Looking good. ;-) The hotel was OK, but there are so many reasonably priced hotels in Bangkok, that there's no point in settling for just OK. We haven't found our favourite hotel yet, the hunt continues. Have a great day Brad & Ta
G'Day mate. If things like the breakfast is not to satisfactory, would it be best to not tell and just let it slide ? I am just wondering how to go about in situations like this.
G'Day Given that my wife is Thai, she would be very shy / embarrassed to complain to anyone about the food. And therefore I would only say something if the food was inedible. Mai pen rai - don't worry, the next meal we eat will be better As Thais say with regard to feedback - we don't like to hurt the peoples feelings. Thanks for your question Take care Brad & Ta
Interesting to use the card key to open a door to get access to the elevators. I've never seen that before. Nice looking room. That step into the bathroom could be a toe breaker for me. Too bad about breakfast.
Good honest review Ta and Brad! The breakfast selection looked good but a shame some of it was cold. I've taken a few tumbles at night in hotel rooms with unexpected steps! I expect that even if it was a total disaster Ta would still be laughing and smiling 😂😂 Thank guys!
Another great video......Brad and Ta...do what I do when travelling....I am always at the breakfast room at opening time....all foods fresh and hot hot hot
G'Day Paul We're normally do get up pretty early, regardless of where we are, but a subscriber had been encouraging me to drink the night before which made rising early impossible. 55 Thanks for watching Have a great day Brad & Ta
just seen this review.I have stayed here a couple of times. If you stay in a room overlooking soi 11,the street noise can be quite noticable.Think this hotel is rated 3 star, but is quite good value. There is another Salil hotel in Soi 8 (which is a dead end Soi)so is much quieter
I can never understand why wherever you travel in S E Asia they only ever seem to have Chicken Sausages on the breakfast buffet and they always taste fowl !.....I'll get my coat >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>exits stage right !
G'Day Robert Did we look tired? We were feeling very tired. 55 We had finished having dinner with subscribers and were headed back to our room when we were spotted by another subscriber. He encouraged us to join him for a drink or 2. ;-) Turned out to be a much later night than we had planned. Thanks for watching Have a great day Brad & Ta
I can totally relate. I was in the public eye for many years in my former life as a radio air personality. You have to think more and anticipate more than you’re used to. But, it’s still very cool tho!
So overall an okay hotel for no more than 2 night stay. Breakfast was hit and miss. Ta was not too happy with the toiletries, no parking. It seems like that breakfast was more on an Asian style than a western style. I usually don't eat heavy foods before lunch and there is no way I could eat dim sum for breakfast. The room looked very awesome. The checking process looked very extensive compare to western standards. Why doesn't use her passport or Thai ID to check in ? Is it easier to provude your Australian passport than her Thai ? This was conflicting to what I have heard about tips. Ta tipped the bellman, I heard Tips weren't welcome.
Hey Edie We're always very happy to eat an Asian style breakfast, we are in Asian after all. ;-) Some of the food was wonderful and some quite bad, oh well, that's life I guess. Ta and I would generally only stay in a Bangkok hotel for 2 reasons. Firstly, we don't want to drive home after a night out and secondly, because we love having a buffet breakfast. We really look forward to enjoying some great food in the morning. The colour scheme in the room was great. The bathroom was a little small. It felt quite crowded in there when we were both brushing our teeth. The lady at reception was great. She took time to explain everything well. Ta did use her ID at check in. Tips are always welcome, who's going to say no to money. haha But a Thai won't stand there and wait, expecting to get a tip and they won't show annoyance if you don't tip. If you're a kind and generous person you will tip. Thanks for your questions Take care Brad & Ta
Brad, I say this with love. It's very clear that you still have not made the "transition" to the Thai way of thinking. My Thai wife was appalled at your review of the hotel, and it's quite clear that Ta was very uncomfortable during the last segment. Brutal honesty is quite offensive to Thai people. My wife's comment, "Brad should have said something like this. There were many nice things about the hotel, and it was very nice of our gracious hosts to put us up in such a nice place. If I could change a few things, I would have liked there to be parking nearby, and I would certainly have enjoyed different food choices, such as a better choice of pastries." She also thinks Ta should have said something nice about her experience there. Having lived in Thailand for six years, and then returning to the US, I have to say there are so many wonderful things about Thailand that you simply haven't learned to enjoy, yet. I'm sure you will, though! Thanks for the video. :)
G'Day Please understand that the Our Life Thai target audience is farang and so more often than not, they appreciate a more direct style of communication. And bear in mind that you have just used western style grammar (appalled, brutal & offensive) to critique our hotel review on not using Thai style grammar. ;-) Perhaps that's because you are a western man and not Thai. So suggesting that I not be true to my own heritage and personal style is a touch hypocritical, don't you think? Thanks so much for your feedback. Looking forward to hearing from you often. Take care Brad & Ta

Nice hotel;)curious how far this hotel from the airport?Planning to travel bangkok with my two kids..Thank you
Sheila Hayward It’s about 50-60 min by taxi & train. You have to change train lines at Makkasan for nana station. Then its a 10 walk from the station.
Great review guys, good to know about the parking. The breakfast look like the usual Thai style hotel food with continental as well. Thanks guys. great work. Shane. (Changed my youtube name ;) )

John Scott, I believe that's Brads passport.
Her passport I believe is red if I am not mistaken.
