I feel like the audience cheering adds a lot to the eery feeling to me. This a dude saying he wants to kill his love interest essentially by saying he wants to disappear with his “new magic wand” and he feels hes getting encouraged to do it. i’ve seen tyler do this song live twice, both for the igor tour and most recently for the cmiygl tour three days ago. he just grinned before doing it and said “this is my favorite song, so i don’t even care if it sounds good.” i initially wasn’t a huge fan of it before seeing it live but now it’s also my favorite. he’s just so passionate performing it live and the entire audience goes nuts. such a great song with amazing performance & tyler’s theatrics are always on point.

I feel like the album version is a lot tamer while the live ver really lets the essence of the song let loose, like we’re really experiencing the mindset that Igor finds himself in. Combining them really gives the best of both worlds, especially when the studio ver slowly builds up and gets more chaotic and transitions into the live ver. I’m a sucker for this kinda shit rofl.
