- Some people find huggie hoop earrings or huggies difficult to remove, but I have a simple hack for you that won't hurt your ear and won't endanger your earrings. Huggies are wonderful earrings that provide a clean, modern look but that have to be pulled apart to remove them which can be easy to overdo. Watch as I show you this simple hack that will give you the confidence to wear the huggie earrings you love.

My apologies for the Hermes bag in the background. It looks so out of place! I was shooting a Monday Musing a couple of weeks ago where I was teasing my new Hermes bag so it was in the background. You are a lifesaver, I recently bought 2 huggie cartilage earrings and I was so scared because I couldn’t get them off because they were really tight, but this worked so easy! Now I’m now afraid to put them back on thanks so much💓

@@MothMedusa I had someone do it, they had to put their nail inside of the hinge and pull, it didn’t hurt at all just be careful not to tug at the ear just the earring!!:)

omg.. Jill I cannot even describe what you’ve just done for me. I have had huggies in my second and third holes for 9 MONTHS, i had no idea how to get them off i thought they were permanently in my ears forever. after watching this video i was able to open all four of them in 2 seconds… THANK YOU

Am I understanding correctly that you're basically pulling the earring against the back of your ear to unhook it? That really hurts and I think it would stretch my earlobes out after a while! I'm confused.

You are a life saver! I have regular ear piercings by my gauges so I prefer to bigger hoops so it’s been easier for me to get off. I usually do the Huggies one because I think they look way better and I just kinda of discovered on my bigger one I have that I can just pinch.
But I have 2 two biggers that are smaller in diameter. Ones a plain black pair and the other one is sliver with a cross hanging.
They were my first hoop pair since I can’t wear studs.
I couldn’t never get them off, I pull and I pull for hours and it’s always painful so I avoid them.
Knowing this trick now and how it works for only of them, it’s so helpful and nice. Definitely going to be wearing them more.
Before I found this video I was struggling as I got home from work because I couldn’t get my earring out of my right ear (it’s a little thicker) and I was ready to break the earrings.

I am one of the people who was always scared of wearing this type of earing because it's so hard for me to take off, but recently a friend gave me a few stainless steel pairs that I really liked and really wanted to use.
This makes them soooo easy to take off I'm wondering why I was afraid of them for so long lol

Thank you so much! I had a tiny hoop stuck in my ear all day and thought I'd never get it off. Your advice gave me the idea to get tweezers inside the hoop and push it apart that way. Not exactly what you said to do, but this video helped loads!

Great tip, I’ll try that on. I recently purchased estate Diamond Huggies hoops that are quite solid and can be painful to remove for the reasons you gave. I’ll try this.

@@notcaringanymore I finally did! It's been so long haha it's like almost a year ago! I actually just went to a local man who customizes jewelry, and while I was inquiring about a ring, I asked him if he knows a way to remove my earring, and he literally just removed it for me and after a few seconds, he did, and I didn't feel a thing! Haha if you can and if you're comfortable, you can probably ask for help from this kind of "expert", if not, then just seek medical help I guess from the hospital. Good luck!!! xoxo

I had one that locks into each other as a continuous circle. I tried pulling it apart, using jewelry cutters and had my husband go at it also. I finally got it off by looping 2 strings of floss and pulling them in opposite directions and it worked!

I can't get them off and I'm sad
I got the right side off
I can't get the left side off
So I have six earrings (all done myself) and found out one of them was a little too heavy and had torn the skin a bit. Figured I could let the hole heal completely and redo it with a lighter one. I legit spent three hours trying your technique but I couldnt for the life of me get it off. Ended up using a pair of scissors to gently squeeze the clasp until I heard the click.
How do you get them to unclasp like that? It puzzled me and I ended up getting frustrated when I couldn't do it.

They thier jill, I have them but mens ones. They where easy to put in, but a pain to take out and made my ears bleed a tiny bit. While that help by not making them painful to take out or make them bleed when taking them out? Thanks for your help.

Please please someone tell me how to get this off...it's have been stuck and I was trying to remove it now it hurts so much .. my earrings are were small so they are more in touch with the skin so there is not much space to use my fingers properly it hurts

For the boys and girlies out there who still couldn't get the dang jewelry outta their ears, heed ma words. Buy forceps. U can get them in pharmacies or online. Thread the forceps between the circle of the Huggie and split it open. Bam! All done. ✂
