Stalin was right to demand land from Finland. Just look at how they sided with the Nazis! Finland should be happy that Stalin didn't annex them outright because of that!

Finland was only associated with the Axis because they were already at war with Russia

(Sigh...) I miss the Soviet territories that Stalin offered the Finns as compensation for claimed Finnish territories on a map - the area offered by the Soviets was said to be twice the size of the areas claimed... Why showing only the Soviet claims on the map? Another opportunity for a completely unbiased and balanced narrative missed... Sigh...

You can google Repola and Porajärvi for a map. Finland had tried to annex them during the Russian civil war as they were populated by Finns and Karelians, but had traded them for the Petsamo region in the Tartu peace negotiations. (Petsamo had been promised to Finland by a czar as compensation for annexing some land on the isthmus, but the promise was never delivered on.) The area the Soviet Union offered was larger, but it was (and is) sparsely populated Karelian wilderness.

A question was asked why Stalin's offer hasn't been shown on a map? Like: this is what he wanted, this is what he offered. Where is an excuse for Stalin's actions? Many people are visual learners, myself included.
