people were often surprised how well sweden played against the "big" nations..but realy looking on the players they had on their team....im not...no real "superheros" at that time but sush a solid team...Larsson and Ljungberg was in many ways topplayers in europe...and other on the team was but was under the radar and some like Andreas Andersson was surtenly a top player but had just not found his spot on international teams.

Would it be feasible to put up the whole match somewhere? I have such good memories of this game as Sweden had missed two qualifiers in a row and finally played some descent football.
Watching now we could be playing them again Saturday night!

It only took 1 minute for Sweden to concede a goal. And after that they didn't let anyone score on them for over 700 minutes in the rest of the qualifers.
Owen had a goal dissallowed - a good one - in this game. England deserved a draw in this game at least. No win, as of 2011, agianst Sweden since 1968. A last minutes goal denied us victory in 2006.
Was it in this match Scholes started the match with a horrible tackle on Mild? If it is, can you upload the tackle? =)
