Because I wasn’t getting a service, I had to sit in the lobby. I never had a super close relationship with either of my parents so those occasions were hard on an 11-12 year old. I just wanted to feel a part of something after the divorce. No doubt you made that little girl feel so loved. You also opened so many doors for more bonding, and trust and I love that. Love how you let Myla get her nails done occasionally, my daughters 5 and she’s got small amounts of makeup and her own vanity she loves being included in more girly things and she keeps asking for press ons but her little nails are still way too small 😂 You’re doing a great job Mumma you should be very proud of yourself ❤
You can get press ons made for kids from Claire’s accessories, they’re not with glue but little sticky tabs, they last about a day but you can take them off whenever🩷

I mean, she could get her press ons? Or maybe some anti nail bitting polish, she won’t have nails left to bite come 30 when they’re so badly damaged from wearing acrylics from such a young age
I’d recommend her getting gel nails with builder gel!! a lot less damaging for the nails and since I started getting gel my nails never break and they last longer in my opinion as my acrylics would snag or crack eventually
My grandma used to take me to the nail salon all the time & now I’m a nail tech bc I truly loved it that much. You never know, even the smallest things can inspire those kiddos ! ❤️

Do you ever feel like you do things to over compensate because of time you missed out? I’m asking this with all due respect because my younger sister lost custody of her 2 kids and now that she has them back part-time she goes above and beyond and stresses herself all the time of not being able to do certain things and I’m always reassuring her that the time spent is more valuable then anything else.

so many people judge mothers who let young daughter get nails, but as a nail biter having accrylici is what makes them the healthiest! no damaged cuticles, peeling nails, and swollen finger tips. the damage from accrylics is NOTHING compared to biting damage. youre such a good mom!

I used to bite my nail until there was blood, and the skin turned out and having nails over the time made me not do it anymore. And the only style I could get was frensh nails.

I do also think another option to get her to stop biting her nails while having cute nails is press on nails trust me on this I love press on myself I personally recommend the brand Olive and June it’s a great alternative for acrylic nails because acrylics are pretty expensive also another great thing about Press on is you can get crazy designs on them also if you wanted,Myla could change up the design every week or so if she wanted and last it’s really nice they are reusable,if you are gonna look into buying I would do some research on what nails would last how ever long you want and I 100 present recommend Olive and June. My mom allowed me to have acrylic nails at 10 because of the same reason. I used to bite my nail until there was blood, and the skin turned out and having nails over the time made me not do it anymore. And the only style I could get was frensh nails.

I do also think another option to get her to stop biting her nails while having cute nails is press on nails trust me on this I love press on myself I personally recommend the brand Olive and June it’s a great alternative for acrylic nails because acrylics are pretty expensive also another great thing about Press on is you can get crazy designs on them also if you wanted,Myla could change up the design every week or so if she wanted and last it’s really nice they are reusable,if you are gonna look into buying I would do some research on what nails would last how ever long you want and I 100 present recommend Olive and June. I’m wearing a pair rn I’m not sure if they name though😅
