Well, when I finished this one I looked forward to your video to see how I could have solved this in a smarter way. I guess we all chose the rabbit 🐇 hole approach.
Man! I hated how I needed to install several different packages for decompressing a zip file over and over again. This challenge drove me insane
Oh my zsh has an extract plugin wherein you just do "x filename" and it'll just figure it out and do it (in a lot of cases, anyway)
I can't believe how many times I expected it to be finished and it just kept going lol I was laughing pretty hard
local man decompresses archives for 17 consecutive minutes
I'm surprised why this challenge had so many less solves....
Well, this one for sure was a rabbit hole of nostalgia. Including a couple of variants I hadn't even heard of before.
Great video series! I am learning a lot stepping thru these. I'm attempting them first and then coming here to watch your video. We basically had the same reaction at each step, as I'm sure many did.
I remember pulling my hair out with that one. I thought it was going to be a never ending rabbit hole
Respect for going through the whole thing man!!!! That was a fucking nightmare to watch, can't imagine what doing that was like XD
cpio was the utility that we used to use in SCO Unix. I'm amazed that it is still around with the much better options we have today.
It is needed to make linux boot images
guess i understand the 10% approval rating. lol....good viewing experience though to whirlwind/become aware of just how silly the low-level compression area can become. props to all who got it.
A real test of patience.
A bit tedious :) Thanks John!
