Once I started traveling back and forth to Senegal and The Gambia in 2006 I was surprised at how strong his influence is in those areas. His picture is everywhere and yes there are people who go overboard with it. But I am always amazed at his commitments the Deen of Al-Islam gaining and spreading the knowledge to others.

I read somewhere that Syedna Umer rza was reddish white in his youth, but once he became the caliph, he worked so hard in all times of the day and after the famine particularly, he tanned considerably. And I read some other place that Syedna Ali rza had a whitish colour with red hair which got darker due to hard work and harsher conditions. Allah knows better

It's about their hearts... Outside they could be a villain or just a bad person... however deep down that individual needs just a little push. You see it when they revert to islam they become a whole different person.. Most of them have to fight for their reversion. That's their spirit saying to them I remember the promise u made before coming to this world.

    As salamu alaikum,
I sincerely hope this brother isn’t implying that the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم had fair skin, or that the Arabs were talking about a fair complexion when they called a man “white,” because if he is, he is wrong. People need to be completely sure they know what they’re talking about before addressing this topic. The scholars and others are silent on this issue because they know where it will lead. It’ll lead to people figuring out what ALL of the Arabs of the past looked like, including the prophet Muhammad. This isn’t an “Afrocentric” thing. In fact, this brother is literally being an Afrocentric with some of his assertions. Why does he never talk about Muhammad An-Nafs Az-Zakia if he feels he has a good grasp on history? Why not mention how the scholars all say that he had no non-Qurashi ancestors let alone non-Arab? Why not mention how he himself said and I quote “no non-Arab blood flows through my veins?” Why not mention how he was described to be as dark as tar and charcoal? That he was described as tall and pitch black? Why not mention that the scholars of the past specify that there were NO SLAVE GIRLS IN HIS LINEAGE BLACK OR WHITE? Why not mention that the Ahlul bayt at his time thought he was the Mahdi? A clear indication that the people 100 years after the death of the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had no issue with a person his color being the Mahdi, WITH KNOWLEDGE THAT THE MAHDI HAS TO RESEMBLE THE PROPHET (saw) IN SOME WAY, obviously the prophet wasn’t that dark. I could keep going on and on. These brothers need to fear Allah when they speak on this topic if they haven’t read extensively. He takes the time to talk about a story that may not even be fully true (story of Antara), but why not about the actual STRONG evidences? How as a black man do you accept that Ali ibn Abi Talib had literal black skin, but his first cousin (saw), who has his exact lineage, is white like a southern European with no known mix in either? In fact, ALI IBN ABI TALIB IS A PURE HASHEMITE. Stop parroting what the people who hate your appearance are saying. This isn’t afrocentricism. The people we allow to control the deen and what is revealed are LYING. Mufti menk hid the words of Ubadah ibn As-Saamit when he said that he had 1000 black skinned (literal black) soldiers. He was reading from the book and you can see his expression change when he sees the words. I’ve caught many so called people of knowledge lying and spreading misinformation all to deter people from knowing what’s in the texts. Allahul Musta’aan.
