- Ali Hamidi goes on a three day, springtime staycation to Wood Lakes Park, Norfolk. Find out exactly how Ali tackles a new lake on this holiday lodge carping trip. He explains his own approach, working out the water, the spots, the rig tactics and baiting as he goes & how he makes tweaks throughout the session to up his catch rate. Using Spinner Rigs with pop-ups and D Rigs with wafters, Ali manages to locate and bank some lovely carp, but not without challenges to overcome along the way.

We have been going woodlakes as a family for 15 years, caught some lovely fish. We now go to a private lake with 2 cabins not too far from woodlakes. Can't wait to start buying OMC merch!! Absolutely love watching your fishing videos Ali!! 🐟

I stayed here years ago my fond child hood memory’s stalking carp out the edge on mainline new grange boilies there’s some cracking commons in there. I used to walk round with a loaf of bread in the evening catching a lot off the top too is the fallen tree still up in the far left hand corner 😜🇬🇧🐋

stayed in one of the lodges and the easy lake behind it is the first lake I ever fished in 1998. Great place I try and get down there once a year great to see an OMC peice there

I have a few good ideas for boat carp fishing guys quick release line clips that screw on bank stick and done with a push of a button 🤔👍
We all see plastic sweetcorn but what about spam, we all caught carp on spam as kids. Surely the bigger carp would love plastic spam, pop up spam, spam waffters, get on it Ali 💪🏼💪🏼

@@OMCRUclips when you have an addiction to buying fishing gear like I have there's every chance of being skint lol , nearly every week I have a delivery or two from angling direct ,I think I have 21 or 22 grands worth from carp specimen Predator and match gear and obviously I'm not going to stop buying because I love it lol. obviously I'm working my way through omc gear now and very happy .Prices are good quality is obviously there I'm going to be ordering hooks which I do like the look of .I should slow down buying loads of gear every week but I'll only be miserable anyway loving the new range keep it coming please 👍.

@@OMCRUclips I remember seeing anglers in the 70s when I was a kid with loads of gear and I always said when I'm a man I'll own a Room full and now I have 1 big bedroom full and another room half full ,after 45 years course and carping I'm still that kid at 51 yrs old lol.Im not stopping lol.
Used to fish there a lot always on champo gutting to hear they had some issues there lately was a fantastic lake

The best swim on the lake used to be the tree line in logde 3 there’s a hole in the trees 😜

I just got back from there last week , championship lake was closed . I fished 2 poles for bends in the rods lol ,
only had 5 carp over 3 days normally I catch 10 plus . Anyone know What’s happened over there ? has there been a fish kill in all the lakes ?

It’s an adapter that comes from Carplounge then you just screw onto a pole, bank stick. Wishing you all the best sir. 🙏🏽
What line are you using Ali and any tips for a newbie? Just getting into carp been few times 14lb biggest, normally do feeder fishing on coarse lakes before trying out carping building a nice set up now
Stayed in the cedar cozy lodge recently, had 4 carp to 22lb all at between 12.30 and 1.30 in the morning.i would say put plenty of bait in to hold them I think that was my mistake,guy next door did well during the day 7lb tench 9lb bream,some big fish in there and a really good restaraunt.well done ali good luck with the products I will be trying them soon 👍

Postage is all tracked so it doesn’t risk your parcel going rogue. £4.99 is surely cheaper than petrol, parking etc?

Interesting outlook. They’re a fantastic tool & fun to use. They’re also an art form to learn to use, understanding the echo sounder etc. I love using mine. I also love casting too. Just whatever feels right for the situation if both are allowed.

Why? Art form to use a boat well and understand various ways of using them well. It’s not like you’ve not seen me casting is it mate?
@@OMCRUclips it wasn't meant as a criticism of you I'm just not a fan of bait boats.
On my syndicate lads send out the two grand boats dropping their bait on the fish then sit there for 3 days catch one or two and people then say good angling 🤔.
Prefor to cast to shows and find the fish myself.
Handy tool I admit in some circumstances under hanging trees but each to there own .

The same was said when the hair rig came out. Then electronic bite alarms. Everything moves on but you don't need to use things if you don't want to obviously, each to their own.
