For anyone wondering, if people are selecting Empty Activity with a compose logo that the Android studio recommends when creating a new Project then No, you cannot select language between Java or Kotlin because Compose is based on Kotlin. To use Java you need to select a normal Empty Activity template.
Can you recommend any Android Studio Flamingo absolute beginners, overview and first project, tutorials? I'm a software engineer with decades of experience with Visual Studio and long ago versions of Android Studio, but all of the beginners videos for Android Studio on RUclips are for much prior versions of Android Studio (not Flamingo) and either expect the viewer to already know the features and UI for that prior version, or simply talk about features, UI elements, menus, and so on that do not exist in the latest, Flamingo, version. I really need some beginner tutorials for the Flamingo version itself, so that the lesson relates to exactly what I see in the Flamingo version. Thank you.
@@dami970 Sorry, but I was never able to find such videos. You would think that Google, with all its resources and ability to create Android Studio itself, could also produce helpful videos, especially when a new version is so different and has so many different features than prior versions. They just don't seem to realize that every day there are thousands of new software engineers who would just love to be able to make use of Android Studio. But, sadly, no.
In this version, I always confuse to follow most of all Android Studio Tutorial build by previous version 😢 * no option for Java or Kotlin in first create App.

While I was installing Android studio Flamingo, at the end while looking at the details section, I noticed that the Intel HAXM installation failed. Is this going to affect any undertakings on projects done on studio? If so, how can I fix it?
AQI is the best feature ever, but most of the time the crashes are coming from an older version, so I need to check the version name, then I go to Repository-history with the Commit of that version and manually copy the lines numbers to check *where is the crash actually*, can you change this to be via the AQI, it's going to be very helpful.
Thank You, i just remove it this morning and rollback to Dolphin.. for sure, this version is much much hungry resources then the previous one (A.K.A) dolphin.. Maybe i need to look at Flutter and vscode combo to left the Studio. LOL
I'm pretty sure it performs worse than EE for me. I have a 12900KF but the autocomplete takes really long to show up after the update, it takes a while for errors to show up and disappear, a really frustrating experience for me overall. Other than that I'm really happy with the update!
@@alibagherifam5383 So you have really an update ? The update notification takes me to the WEB Site of Androidstudio where I can download the whole package, not really an update.

Hi, Please were you able to find videos on it? I'm kinda stuck too and would appreciate if you could direct me to any material you found on it

What about the slow rendering preview problem?
How to code in java main file instead of kotlin?
select empty view activity , dont select empty or no activity instead select any other away from this
Where is the activity_main.xml in this new update
that's what I want to know
JDK 17 huh? Will take some effort to upgrade our build agents. Ok.
Where is the new UI of Android studio?
The problem with native debugger still persists even with patch 2. Debug symbols cannot be found
Thank for sharing👍
Unable to choose language while creating the project. Please let us know if it created Kotlin by default. @androiddeveloper
Please fix ADB issue for debugging mode, Frequently getting ADB error since updated Android Studio to Electric Eel.

Seems to be some issues between gradle, android gradle plugin, kapt, and jdk 17?
same problem here, i guess we're forced to use gradle toolchain now
Tomas is a great, would love to see more videos presented by him on this channel.

What's new? New is that it's slower than ever, no matter how much memory you have and so far, I've found 2 major/critical bugs.

it could be something related with your installation ? maybe try reinstalling it ?
What about The New Ui ??
You can enable it from the registry.
Or from the settings in Appearance
when solve build slow ?😢
How to keep using material2 in flamingo?
Why many templates are deleted in this new version? such as MapsActivity, ListDetailActivity, Setting
😂 hahahaha
They are still there but you need to choose empty activity, build the project, right click the app folder and choose the old activity you want
When you think it's not possible it happens, Flamingo is even slower and is even more resource hungry than Dolphin. Absolutely awful performance.

Same here

Other versions of studio work fine.
Tried using it and its HORRIBLE. Tries to push people to use Kotlin and gradle is a mess.
