I think the ending was supposed to highlight how when school shootings keep happening it triggers the trauma for survivors of past school shootings, showing a never ending cycle for them which is unfortunately a reality in America and this film is prompting a change for that.
She explained in an interview that that's because while the media and public forgets and moves on pretty quickly, the trauma for actual victims never ends
i literally grew up watching this girl. Jenna is so talented and amazing watching her go from stuck in the middle to her upcoming show Wednesday is truly amazing to see. I really hope for the best for her and wish her the best of luck for her future projects.

It's ridiculous that Jenna Ortega didn't get a Best Actress nomination for The Fallout. I've seen a bunch of the nominated actresses' performances and Jenna Ortega is about 10x better than any of the others. Also, the film itself was phenomenal. Megan Park should've received a nomination too. The fact that it wasn't even considered especially against some of the garbage that was nominated is a travesty. The movie is so realistic mostly because of Ortega's performance and Park's direction towards improvised conversation- but also the communication through text was brilliantly written. I'm glad Jenna received so many accolades for that performance and is getting so many roles. She will win many acting awards in her very bright future. She's also drop-dead gorgeous and so well-spoken. Maturity waaay beyond her years. Definitely an old soul.
After Wednesday, Jenna is killing it. She's got a ton of projects lined up working with some very famous actors (Amy Adams, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Rudd, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Barry Keoghan, etc), so should be fun to follow her career. Hopefully some awards in the future. =)
