funny story; my dad and i went somewhere to watch the 2018 world cup belgium vs brazil match (quarter finals), literally everyone there was supporting brazil, including my dad and I. there was quite literally one kid supporting belgium... we all know what happened in that game
Actually, Tedesco appointed Kevin De Bruyne as the new captain of Belgium after Hazard retired and Lukaku + Courtois were both second in line for when De Bruyne would not be playing. Last year during De Bruynes long period of injury, there were two qualifing games for EURO 2024 and in one game Lukaku would be captain and in the other Courtois. However, Lukaku was captain at the home game during Courtois' 100th game for the squad and Courtois got mad for that because he wanted to be captain during his 100th game and decided to leave the team before the second game.
Belgium manager is honestly dumb he is still playing Lukaku as Striker when he is simply washed and they already have a very good player Openda at that position
It's probably because he thinks that if he leaves out Lukaku then he won't have a Captain that would be able to stand up to the other big personalities in the team.
I'll never forget the 2018 WC, I'm from Belgium and I watched every game with my whole family, I remember when Belgium scored that last minute goal against Japan we went crazy, probably the best summer of my life.
It seems like the Belgium national team are still in massive turmoil and Thibaut Courtois’ recent retirement from international football after a falling out with Dominic Tedesco is a prime example of that and the end of a generation that was never golden in a sense that with all of the talent they had, they never even reached a final of a major tournament let alone win an international trophy. Anyways, everyone knows that the fallout started last year as after securing his 100th cap for Belgium, Courtois thought as if he would be honored with that milestone as their captain for a game since their permanent captain Kevin de Bruyne wasn’t in the squad due to the injury he picked up in the champions league final, instead, Romelu Lukaku was given the armband over him and because of that, he withdrew from the national team and hasn’t played for his country since. Last season, he had an ACL injury and even though he came back in May when the season was about to end and was fit enough to start the champions league final despite not kicking a ball for over a year, he already ruled himself out of the EUROs not just because of his injury, it was more down to the issues that hadn’t been resolved between him and the manager and he isn’t going to play for the national team ever again. I don’t blame him for being upset since anyone who has reached the milestone of 100 international appearances, yes they want to be honored in the right way as they want to be captain for a special moment playing so many games for their country, at the same time, with all due respect to Courtois, I don’t think he reacted in the right way possible because as an experienced player, he’s supposed to be a role model for some of the young players in the dressing room, he should be a leader and the fact that things haven’t played out well after all of this is enough proof that Belgium are still a mess and we all saw what happened behind the scenes at the World Cup. With or without him, it ain’t going to change much since they still won’t win anything and his strop doesn’t help.
My respect for De Bruyne has gone down now a bit there is no reason you should be criticizing your own teammates ESPECIALLY if you are the best player Kompany was the only one keeping this dressing room together
As a Belgian supporter, we don't like all that drama and we could easily have won the 2016 European Championship, the 2018 World Cup and even perhaps the 2020 European Championship and the 2021 Nations League.... now we all know that will be almost impossible. Although there is a lot of talent around, the thing is that Tedesco does not have Belgian nationality and he does not see the Belgian talent walking around that is there. If we had a trainer with Belgian nationality, we would have a Belgium with potential... many people also said that they did not understand why Belgium was always so high after the 2022 World Cup, but Roberto Martinez always played against small teams in order to win
Nah. Belgium produces alot of talent. Next generation looks promising as well. Openda ( Leipzig ) Duranville ( Dortmund ) Mbangula ( Juventus ) Doku ( Manchester City ) Lavia ( Chelsea ) Vermeeren ( Leipzig ) Vandevoordt ( Leipzig ) Theate ( Eintracht Frankfurt ) Debast ( Sporting CP ) Fofana ( Lyon ) Godts ( Ajax ) Mokio ( Ajax ) Bakayoko ( PSV ) Onana ( Aston Villa ) Vranckx ( Wolfsburg ) De Ketelaere ( Atalanta Bergamo ) De Winter ( Genoa ) etc... Just to name few. Still a very talented team and you don't need a golden generation to win something.

As I Belgium I thinks he love Lukaku at this point (not as player or friendly)

Ridiculously dumb comment

The transition between Courtois's shop and yours caught me off guard 😂😂 man you're underrated, I'm liking these videos along with your humor
Appreciate that!
As a half belgian half american that is born in belgium i really agree with this guy the whole team has fallen apart
Yep, my country’s team sure did fall from glory.
:(
Netherlands: First time ? 😅
Haha Netherlands are the kings of losing in the final. Unlucky region really 😂

as a Belgian, I can say you missed the ball at some points... oh, and you are dramatizing the situation to the max.
i have a belgian friend and when i told him belgium's team is mid now, he got mad at me and refused to talk lol
send him this video lol
Belgian guy here, I agree completely with this statement. So much that I’d have preferred us to go out of the groups in euro 24
The quality is still there tho. Still alot of talent. They just need to play better as a team.
That first impression of Courtouis is incredible 😂
Hi
lol
The worst part was that Lukaku was temporary captain because De Bruyne was injured and he would be captain the next game
Thibo and Tedesco both seem like a handful to deal with
as a Belgian: Todd Boehly would be a better manager than Tedesco
Hes been there for about a year
well rip belgium
Rip 😢
good video and congrats at getting 10k subscribers
Thank you so much 😀
That Kendrick Lamar reference was funny lol🤣
Glad someone noticed it 😂
Me too
Please make a video abt Kevin’s de Bruyne’s childhood. It’s very interesting I’ve heard
It’s pretty crazy
I remember in the euros Belgium vs Slovakia and lukaku missed some sitters
Edit he also had 2 goals disallowed

Lmao that ending is gold 😂

I relate to this as a USA fan…can only beat the small teams
Great video like always !
Thanks so much man!
We got amazing players but no team.
Good way to put it
It's the people of our Belgian national footbal assosiation (KBVB). That's the bottleneck. Choosing one poor amanager after the other.
:(
I love ur channel please do a video of BVB how they develop the best players. 👏
Thanks bro
I'm from belgium😢
So if the golden generation of Belgium football happens every 30 years, the next one should be around 2045 to 2050.
That’s quite the wait. Hopefully the next golden generation isn’t as dramatic 😂
Crazy I am going to be old ASF man...
