- Many people believe this is the most famous Harley-Davidson motorcycle ever sold - Elvis Presley's third, and most well-known Harley, his Pepper Red 1956 KH Knucklehead. Elvis posed on this bike in his iconic riding jacket and hat for a 1956 cover photo of Harley's magazine, "The Enthusiast."

One of Elvis 's friends bought a Triumph and after a test ride of his friend's Triumph he called the shop and told them he wanted 5 of the same thing for his Memphis Mafia and he was going to pay off his friends bike note . The dealer thought it was a joke but no it was for real. He had to call up 6 other dealers to get the same thing but that day all of them got new Triumphs courtesy of Elvis.
I’ve heard the same but it was 9 bikes for 9 members of the Memphis Mafia.
How do I join the Memphis Mafia? Signed, Elvis fan who knows he's still alive.
@majorlaff8682 If you find out, please let me know. Would love to join myself. Elvis lives!
@@trippontwowheels I could be wrong about how many bikes in total it was.
@trippontwowheels did you ever get the barn find harley going ? And did it really only take 30 minutes of Magical Mystery oil to free it up ?
I saw that '56 in York PA many years ago. Thanks for the Tripp down memory lane.
You’re welcome big fella!
That thing is as old as me, built in the same year! It's in much better shape too!
Elvis took good care of his bikes. 🙂
@@trippontwowheels I bet he didn't have time to ride it much
L2 Ohhh wowwwww hooorayyy ❤❤❤
Man, you get to see some cool stuff Tripp!
Just lucky I guess. Good to hear from you brother!
watching here & shared #landon❤
Thanks much! Where are you from?
Sweet bike... I need it
Wonder if it’s for sale?
Howdy Tripp! Many thanks for sharing one more beautiful story!
I've heared about a small star conflict which has taken place in 1959 when Harley-Davidson gave away two special-edition FLH panhead Hydra Glide to two music icons. The first one was given to Jerry Lee Lewis, while the second bike went to Elvis Presley. And Elvis was a little bit bothered for not having the first.
Cool story. I hadn’t heard that before. Thanks for sharing!
@@trippontwowheels As far as I know Jerry Lee's bike has been sold at an auction for around 385 000 USD.
Cool
Definitely cool.
Hay Tripp! My 1st Harley was a 1967 XLCH. It looked very much like Elvis sportster.
Very nice! Whatever became of the bike?
@@trippontwowheels Rode the piss out of it after a restoration I did on it. Then sold it. Moved up to a 1978 FXE. I am on Harley #4 right now.
@larrys.3992 What was bike 3, and what is now 4?
@@trippontwowheels #3 FLHTC Rode it just under 30 years. #4 Heritage Softail 2018.
@@larrys.3992 I remember the Heritage now!
Trippontwowheels did you ever get the barn find Harley fired up ? And did it really take only half an hour with Magic mystery oil ? To free it up
Yes I did! And if I remember correctly I let the MMO sit for several hours.
Neetoo 😁👍😎🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️
Yo big Moe!
a simple anchor would have stopped the boat
I totally agree. I think.
