- One of my favorite people in the automotive RUclips world: Tim Burton, or @Shmee150 . Today, I wanted to talk about why there will never be another shmee!
Tim is an OG when it comes to automotive youtube. He's been around making content since before "automotive youtube" was even a thing!
Almost every aspect of Tim's channel, as well as his existence on the platform, is remarkable. It's something only a true love and passion for cars could make happen. It's something that I don't think we'll ever see again.
I got to spend a lot of time hanging out with Tim during my Savage Garage days with Randy, and every single one of them was a good time. Tim is such an amazing guy, and in my opinion, deserves every bit of success he has today.

I got mad respect for Tim. The man has been grinding since before you could get paid for making great content. That is really special. Hats off to the man!

@@ariescustomif you actually look at Tim's history, you'll find out that he came from nothing. He didn't start out with any advantages or handouts. Nowadays, that's almost impossible to do in the car content world, but Tim is one of the very few.
It never ceases to amaze me how so many people desire and excuse for someone else's success.

Shmee is the the nice guy you give the keys to your hypercar because you know he‘ll treat your stuff well. I mean, I enjoy DDE, but I‘ll never let them drive my hypercar. Not even a Corolla.
You forgot about the knowledge. MOST of the time, the info is just at the tip of his head and on point.
Just by looking at the cars, he knows the models, limited editions, numbers made... Most of the time it's on point.
We all know he research it first before starting the recording, but continuously mention one car after another for the next 15 cars. That takes experience and love. And good memory.
I think one other thing not highlighted as to how Shmee able to drive what he gets to drive, he genuinely has driving skill. He's proven he can drive these types of cars within a respectable level. No supercar/hypercar manufacturer will ever trust some random influencer to drive their cars if they know they can't handle it.
Great point, not only he has some years of experience driving those cars but also he had some level of track racing classes so he really can drive and be thrusted with whatever car a collector or brand gives to him. I mean just on the past month he has driven a Pagani Codalunga, a 911 GT1 and a Bugatti Chiron, not to mention his own cars during the Gumball... Not every person can have that kind of access to cars like that and be thrusted with things so valuable, rare and powerful.
Hey Jimbo, i was a (reluctant) fan of Savage garage towards the end, the last year or so. I say reluctant because Randy (even though i loved him for who he was) was an in your face kind of guy, not the type of person i normally vibe with or get along with. After SG i saw how you struggled and tried to find your identity, and wether you should hang on to SG or let go, a very hard thing to do, especially after leaning on the shoulders of giants. But you did it, you made an incredible, genuine heartfelt tribute/last hurrah that clearly came from the heart and now you are making (didn't even know that was possible) fresh content that has your own identity and feel to it and is very enjoyable. I want to hereby acknowledge that i'm impressed and that you've grown immensely. Kudo's. You've got a new sub.

I really enjoy watching Shmee, he is positive, shows modern cars, doesn't show cop videos or widebody. He picks one topic only and films that for the video. Only car youtuber I watch 99.9% of the content.
I feel like you found your niche in the vast sea of automotive RUclips. These videos have been absolutely incredible and i look forward to the next one! Furthermore, it seems like you enjoy making this kind of content which is nice! If you're looking for who to do next, you can't go wrong with Stradman, Doug, or Ed/Vin wiki.

We all agree wholeheartedly!!! A no brainer!!! My hope is he will expand into more ventures. One thing you failed tragically on is mentioning his incredible KNOWLEDGE!!! DDE doesn't have this. In fact nobody comes close to his knowledge. We never see Tim angry. This is vital in today's vitriolic world.
I have been watching Tim's videos for more than 6 years now and he never disappoints. Hat's off to the man..

Shmee150 might not have a big company/team but he is so iconic that his NAME itself is a brand now, hence he gets all the recognition and respect he deserves from the super/hyper car industry
He's also a phenomenal driver with a photographic memory. His rev matching is 👌
I love the direction you've taken where you talk about significant automotive channels and their origins. This Shmee video was amazing. Tim has to be the most hardworking and down to earth creators that loves making content genuinely.

Tim conducts himself in a very professional manner which makes him more brand friendly n he's very knowledgeable
Tim simply loves cars, he isn't a snob, and he legit enjoys every aspect of what he does. The reason why people trust him with their expensive cars is he has a high amount of mechanical sympathy for cars, even ones he doesn't own. He is a safe pair of hands, but also experienced with track driving. He is my favorite RUclipsr, not just car RUclipsr due to his genuine interest and love for his subject matter.

I've been watching Tim since he revealed his sepang blue audi R8. Watching this vid made me realized how old I am getting and how far Tim have come. Shmee150 is literally my childhood, and until now actually.
he is on the community for like 10+years i always liked him he is the guy who reviews crazy cars and talks about everything he is the king of car knowledge
This is a fantastic video, and honestly lays out everything Tim has done with RUclips that shows how unique he is.
Yes, I'm a fan of him, yes, I've watched him for the better part of a decade... And I simply cannot understand the rampant opposition to Tim that salivates with things like, "he's a rich baby" or "his voice is annoying"
Who the hell cares? Maybe it's just that I'm British, so I've grown used to his accent, but I honestly don't even notice it by this point. And if he is from old money, again, so what?
I have a lot of respect for Tim, allowing us viewers to have a peek at some of the coolest collections, cars, and experiences through his videos.
Also, at 2:00 that video is what introduced me to Savage Garage, so I'll definitely thank Tim for that if I see him in person one day
Tim is a great person, we share the same passion and he is definitely one of a kind
Jimbo, I love this new direction, and if there was anyone that could tell things like are and in a way that grabs those that have been along this auto space journey, it's You. I hope you know that everyone now expects a video on EVERY single auto youtuber present and just works down the list. Let the comments dictate the next video and keep it simple. The talents there, be consistent, and always take breaks.
I really enjoyed the way he covered the Shmee150 channel history and how it became influencial and so present and how much Tim is dedicated and passionated about it. If he keeps it to talk about other big automotive youtube channels, I'm in to watch them and for sure he has a lot to cover.
For real there's always something to watch from him no matter what time of year it's. Every time I go back to his channel, there's like 20 new videos to watch and he's just such a hard grinder despite it being exhausting. He'll always seize an opportunity no matter what unless there's something physically/mentally wrong with his body.

They best thing about Tim is the fact he buys these dream cars and takes them straight to the nurburgring and enjoys the fuck out of them! And it's just pure joy pouring out of him as he does it! The GOAT car guy
Tim is the sweetest guy I've come across on RUclips and yes there are many others but that man is literally a legend in the automotive youtuber community I've got so much respect for him🔥🙌🙌

Shmee gotta be one of my favorite RUclipsrs I think he was one of the first car RUclipsrs I subscribed to I grew up watching his channel
When we were younger we used to watch top gear and when it ended there was a big empty gap for new automotive content which was through social media and i believe tim saw that and took his chance, this is why i respect him so much, he kinda predicted the future and knew what people will be interested in, simple, easy and straight to the point content

I think that you will find that there is lots of RUclipsrs out there who do car spotting, drive exotic cars and have a personality that people love but havnt had the foot up like Shmee has had. His background and money has defiantly helped. I also think you will find that Tim has a team behind him, he has to. Also, the opportunities that he gets are great but i dont think you could label as shmee is the only 1 that gets these are other opportunties. There are plenty of RUclipsrs who do exactly the same as shmee, go and record a car for YT. As, I said before he has had the money to back him and I dont mean the money from YT (nowadays yes of course YT) but when he started he had the backing from his family to do this.

In 2010 I went to Dubai, i filmed a load of cars including, the then relatively new Ferrari 599GTO a Porsche 911 Gt1 Strassenversion and the Mercedes CLK GTR (owned by the same guy), and a large street based show which included everything form a Muira and an EB110 SS to the batmobile, if only i thought of RUclips back then 😢

People say he’s annoying and silly. Childish etc. I don’t care. I love how knowledgeable and entertaining he is. I’ve meet him in person and first impressions were very good. He lives a super car dream. And I love it.
I would consider channels like DDE and Strad to be much more childish than Tim. Tim is just building a cool garage and grinding RUclips, what's childish about that?
Before anyone thinks I'm hating on those channels, I'm not. I watch Strad just as much as Shmee, though I will admit I don't watch DDE that often

@Antonio88870 the Virgin got high on some stuff and decided to talk bad about other RUclipsrs and claim he was the reason for their success. At the same time his mom stroked his ego by saying he was a child genius and that his IQ was higher than Einsteins. He slated his dad while he was at it and started picking on kids who were calling him out.
Well that's the gist. I doubt jimbo would cover any of that since he was on team Randy at the time and Randy was standing by the virgin.
