I have the sealed 7 2.0 in my miata. For the $ the Kong style are a much better light. Better beam pattern. Better overall light. And no issues with moisture.
the black box holds a capacitor circuit that keeps the voltage steady @ 12.8vdc while energized FYI: that halo LED light is called a "Switchback" LED... simply cuz it's 2 color and it will "switchback" to the 1st color when the powers pulled from the 2nd got mine on Harley wired so it flashes amber when using turn signals, then back to white DLR when not turning ;)

the anti flicker works by having a resistance integrated. making the ohm bigger to replicate the desired bulb to trick the canbus. often used when changing from glow bulb to led.

How do you install these to a 2011 Patriot? I assume you need some sort of adapter after removing the stock headlights? Where do you get the adapters from?
Morimoto was the way I went. I went back and listened to your video again and you mentioned an adapter you were waiting for. Was that to mount the headlight? Mine will not fit into the brackets on my TJ. I'm contacting customer support to see if they might know what bracket will work with their lights and my TJ.
Also I saw a pair of them cheaper ones on a friend unlimited wrangler n he liked them for the price but I didn’t like the output blinded ppl that were Infront of him rather than having a good output for you to see at night. It will just depend on your preference.
The “anti flicker” is just a relay. Had a problem with aftermarket lights flickering on my 70 cutlass. Didn’t even bother buying anything as I had relays that I wired into the headlight wiring before the fender well.
how would you flash a JK to run LED headlights? My 16 JK doesnt have DRL lights, so I am thinking the morimoto should be plug n play without the flicker adapter?
They were very similar. However since this I've found kong style that look like factory jeep headlights and they are the best I've ever found. I have vids on them with beam pattern. And they're 150 bucks.

Do your homework. Watch other review videos to see what the differences are. There are many of them try to get the side by side with brightness ratings so you can see how they look. Cheap isn't good if you can't see where your going. Most important is the beam pattern because that is how you see down the road. The expensive lights will have a better pattern than the less expensive ones.

"Get a brighter bulb" isn't the answer to all of lighting problems. Learn how light works, how output range and patterns change from bulb type to bulb type, why each type requires its own housing and lens type, and you'll come to realize that you can actually have superb lighting without blinding the fuck out of oncoming drivers. You'll also come to realize why it costs more for the better items..... Or just continue being cheap and going with brighter bulbs bro

Wisamic look to have a very effective cutoff for oncoming drivers. The differences between stock headlights and cheap Chinese LEDs are huge, then the jump to JW is minimal at a massive cost increase. I need 2 for my Rocket 3. I'd pay maybe 500 for a pair of the adaptive 2s, but that is roughly the cost for just 1, so I'm just gonna try some wisamic for $100 and see if it's enough of an upgrade

On point, my buddy put a set of JW Speaker 8700 evo's in his 79 toyota pickup. Was a bitch because of the negative switching, had to build a relay harness anyway for them. I've bought three different sets of these chinese knockoffs, and they have all been blown away by the jw speaker units. One of them was decent performance wise, considering it was $58 bucks, but still fell way short of the focus of the jwspeaker lights. And the morimoto lamp is just the retrofit source rebranding yet another chinese knock off product and upcharging 400% for it.
Morimoto Sealed 7 headlights are crap, I’ve had them for 2 years and I’m on my third replacement; half of the LEDs in the daylight running system keep going out making them look really cheap. A manager is supposedly reaching out to me, but it’s been a few weeks and still no email. They require you to purchase another headlight, send in the defective one, and then wait for a refund like people have time to tear their jeeps apart for fun and part with a few hundred dollars for no reason!!
Those china lights are not dot approved. The chinese just dont give a shit and stamp it in there. The rgb color changing ones say dot too yet you can have red or blue

All of these style of lights have a "rice" factor. If I were to get this style of light I would prefer the one with the halo, even if it is cheaper.
