That “OLD TIMER” is my son, Greg Gorman. He started with dirt bikes way back there in the mid 70’s. Loved this video, it did make this OLD heart beat a little fast. It was like watching him on the race track in Daytona or Road Atlanta. You all stay safe and have fun.

As I have been telling you max, YOUR bike, the REAL one is coming soon. You HAVE the skills, but the bike you are riding may not be transferring your potential to the road because of the imbalance and the bent bars. That brother IS fast, yes, not to take anything from him, but you weren't 100% doe to your bikes handicaps. I also like the fact that you are so REAL and straight up. You ALWAYS tell it like it is and always acknowledge other riders, even if they appear to be faster, more skillful, etc. Love your honesty and the fact that you actually show both sides of yourself, win or lose. You ARE the man.
God bless you and dayna, and all the riders out there.

I'm 53 and have been riding since the beginning of the sport bike era. And have had many sport bikes. People have no idea what it was like getting on these bikes for the first time in history. Cruising around on your CB750 or Suzuki GS then getting a ZX11 or a Hurricane. Complete insanity. What a time to grow up. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Love showing up the younger generation on a lesser bike. They have no idea until I take my helmet off. Have an FZ1 now with some suspension work and some power mods. Schooled a guy last week with an H2. 20 something on his first liter bike. No substitute for experience. We grew up in a different time. No electronic nannies to get you out of trouble, quick shifters, auto blip, abs, etc... were non existent. You had to know how to ride. We've seen it all and done it all and we're still here. Of course it helps to be a superbike instructor and pro like this guy lol. Track days, track days, track days. Practice then practice some more. If you're starting out get something easier to deal with and build your skill set, then progress to bigger bikes. I run into so many 20 year olds running out and getting r1's and busa's, etc... All set up with the go pros and their business cards promoting their Instagrams, and hardly any can ride worth a damn. Maxwrist is a great street rider but new riders try to be like him and it doesn't end well. Motorcycling is a sport. You need to work at it and be in shape mentally and physically to do it well. Be safe out there everyone.

Yep. And as he gets passed Max says, "dude knows these roads". Result would be the same if they switched bikes on any other road. I do appreciated Max's need for speed, but he's got a need for more skill to match that speed. He can't seem to hold a line or understand where the apex is. Glad he at least posted the video shamelessly.

“Old timer”😆. I was in my 50’s had probably 200k miles under my belt. Mostly all in the mountains (Ozarks,Smokies). Did a number of track days on a well built SV650. Our local track outside of Tulsa a tight technical track. Lent it self to smaller, well built suspension bikes. A track day I’d been dancing with all the youngsters all morning. Smokin em up the inside in the corners, they’d pull me on their 600’s and liter bikes in the straights. At lunch as we were leaving the “Tower” I overheard 2 young guys behind me “that’s him right there!” How does he do that on a SV the other guy says. First guys says “and he OLD TOO”😆😆😆. I turned around and explained I rode 35,000+ a year, all in the twisties and keep practicing. (I proceeded to carry 10 mph too much down the front straight in the first afternoon section, grabbed one too many down shifts and high sided a mile high. “DUDE, THAT’s the highest I’ve ever seen a bike fly”)

This is a very well articulated example of how riding skill works. Wristy is fast street wise, as in he’s pretty much going to be the fastest on any given ride... That’s actually considered slow compared to AMA pro level racers. AMA level racers are considered slow compared to WSBK, and they (world superbike) are slow compared to Motogp. The level of fast you can achieve almost never ends...
I doubt wristy cares, he’s probably just happy to ride with a more skilled rider. It isn’t about jealousy, it’s all about getting better.

I trusted my bike so I could lean with confidence to the almost edge of the tire one day it was getting dark & cold road was a little wet from night dew. I was waiting & making a left turn with very little lean in slow speed at a intersection. My bike lost traction on the crosswalk white paint that I didn’t see in the dark. I crashed my bike many times but it didn’t effect me much cuz it was my fault like bad handling. Since my bike lost traction in a slow speed I’m having a hard time to lean like before cuz of that little thing. I over react to gravels, black patches, leaves anything that’s on the road. Lol
