It has always been my belief that we will never get a 'definitive' figure from Hasbro ever. It's a deliberate act. It's their intention to milk us dry. I wont be adding these new ones to my cantina. In fact, I don't want Luke, Ben, Han and Chewbacca there at all. Just enough patrons to justify the band but not overly crowded. The original Luke from Kenner (Toltoys for me) in 1978 will always be my favorite. Nice review by the way...
I think hasbro figured out that a perfect Luke is the last Luke a collector buys, and that’s the last thing they want. They are selling these figures to the same group of collectors that has been getting smaller since ‘95, so they aren’t really incentivized to give you the perfect version especially with how few 3 3/4 figs they make now anyway.
I agree that this is their strategy, so either a third party cuts the line and beats them to it, or they put out a figure that’s close enough and customizers finish the rest.
Hahahahahahahahaha.......the evil crap those guys do just to screw valued loyal customers. They literally communicate to each other not to make the figure great. Just make it good enough to purchase. Alot of us suckers thank them after they loogie in our faces.
Rebel Soldier (Hoth Battle Gear), I think. And you're not alone. I think most of us used him as Luke because Kenner took forever to release him and and what we got was a disappointment.
Luke does not always have the long pouch on the rear of the belt, particularly once he gets in the Landspeeder to go Look for R2. There are several scenes in ANH where its not there, which is what this figure represents. A notable scene without the rear pouch, is when he comes home to find his Aunt and Uncle were killed. Hasbro is re releasing the Landspeeder this year.
Sometime in the late 1990s, I decided to cobble together an "Ultimate Luke" that had the bending elbows, swivel wrists, and ball-socket neck of the "Flashback" Luke, the bending-knee legs of the "Skyhopper" Luke, and all the accessories that ever got packed with a "Farmboy" Luke. And I'm still trying to cobble that "Ultimate Luke" together, because frankly, I think he'd need swappable belts, considering he'd have to attach a droid caller, lightsaber, electrobinoculars . . . .
The long pocket is a costuming inconsistency. Probably the most readily available ANH Luke backshots (from the Luke finding Owen and Beru dead scene) don't feature the pocket. Iirc it's mostly limited to the Jawa sequence and Luke's farm life. After he goes off to find Artoo, it vanishes. So this is accurate to how Luke appears in the Cantina sequence
I read in another thread that the long pouch appeared early on in the film, but for most of the film he didn't have it. In the 6" SWB he comes with a removable pouch so you can have him either or. Guess the Vintage one doesn't come with that accessory
I almost broke down and bought the saga version. So glad I didn't. I can't wait to get the new luke. Definitely need a couple. Can't wait to see the other 3.
lol the bare faced cheek of the man. When its something he cares about Scott goes into full force old lady ocd mode, laser focused on tiny details. We also get throw in this accessory or that accessory, extra hands, extra portrait. But when he was in toy maker mode how many figures were sent out into the world with incorrect details, backwards shoulders, missing accessories and it was always someone elses fault and the consumer should be grateful for his efforts.
The only thing I don't like about it is that there is only one hole and you can only put light Saber in it or the comm link there should be 2 holes one for the Saber and one for the community link
@binarysunset6662 oh ok that's awesome only cause another channel made it sound like there is only one hole ty so much I'm waiting for mine to come in from Game Stop it's in transit appreciate the response brother
@binarysunset6662 my Luke just came today I pre ordered from Game Stop it really is a great figure but this is the only farm boy Luke I have I've been meaning to get others I really want to get the Death Star escape I will soon enough but the Luke came in excellent shape thank God because usually they come pretty banged up from my local Game Stop
how much went into tooling for those new 3 3/4 figures? call 'em up, send them an e-mail and a hand written letter. maybe, just maybe they are willing to remove a tiny, long pocket on the rear of the belt. who knows. stranger things have happened. thanks for keeping me informed on a few lines i don't pay attention to. it's nice to see toys i probably won't buy, out of the package
Here in Australia. I just wait 6 to 12 mths to purchase any new vintage figure for 5 to 15 buck's. I dont reward disgusting corporate games. I literally purchased the newset vin storm trooper for 5 bucks a piece. Then they marked down to 2 get 1 free. Brand new black series storm troopers for 15 bucks each from 45 bucks aud. I couldn't resist collect black series when they are giving them away. Thank god Disney tanked sw for tge younger generation 😅😊😊😊
Thanks for the vid! Saw the Meero fig at my local GS today and it looked good, minus the big bend in the card to the left of the hang tab...grrrr Really excited for (most) of this wave. Again, thnx

Its not that complicated, hasbro knows if they give you the best version w no mistakes they can't sell you another one.😂 they know how to make a great Luke with everything people want. They do it on purpose. Then they will tell you a year from now they are releasing a new luke because we heard your complaints about the last one. So not only are they sticking it to you to buy the same figure many times, idiots thank them for it and say see they listen to the fans. Its crazy how gullible people are 😂
@agathavincent9487 its the truth... lol I honestly don't know what to tell you... like when they got the license for mmpr did a line w the wrong colored belts aka lighting bolts on them. They absolutely could had fixed it after the 1st wave hit. But waited for the whole team to finish releasing then almost immediately released them again with the correction. When they re leased newer ones similar issues. They have been making star wars forever, they have heard accuracy complaints from past figures... do you think its more likely they keep forgetting many of the same issues or is it more likely they want to sell you another "more accurate one down the line? It's not cynical, it's a buisness practice... hasbro does it with every line. I collect marvel legends where repaints are the norm... as if they were color blind on the 1st attempt.

My favorite "Luke" figure, was the one I had as a kid... The box called him something like, "Hoth Rebel Trooper", but to me, it was Luke. 😊
Rebel Soldier (Hoth Battle Gear), I think. And you're not alone. I think most of us used him as Luke because Kenner took forever to release him and and what we got was a disappointment.
Luke with blast shield was also with legacy battle pack training on the falcon

It's too uncomfortable to drive with. So when he got in his landspeeder he took it off. And then forgot about it.
Ha! Just wish we got a ESB Luke Pilot WITHOUT the skull cap…..

Oops we messed up, ok we fixed it, you buy again. 😃 Hasbro
Hope we get a whole New Hope main cast again!
Oh you got yours already good for you where did you buy yours from? This Luke looks fantastic
Threepio is third in popularity??! And Boba Fett gets an honorable mention.

Boy I hope someone got fired for that blunder
There are two holes. Both accessories can be attached to the belt at the same time.

The black series version has the long pouch
...as it was mentioned in the video. Did you not finish it?

Hasbro can't keep up with the way the actor dresses or looks.
Pouch, not pocket.
I miss real Star Wars. I can't wait until the day Kathleen Kennedy is fired.
She's never leaving!! Her contract was up years ago! Lol
@@holonet1 She must have videos of execs doing "stuff".

pouch not pocket
I’m so glad to see you nerds going crazy over this tiny figure. Seeing scooter upset over the lack of anything with this figure is great.
The jacked 90s series is still the best. Especially that imposing buff Vader.
