I really do recommend the 2DS XL, it can fold and the controls feel better , and with the DS being obsolete now , price wise it costs only a little more but the 2DS XL is worth it, and you can find really cute shells for it Also the screen is bigger and better quality then the normal 2DS

@@nltiy5234 I own the DS lite , had it since I was young and I can say it still works really well to this day, you may end up with button imprints if your playing a game like mario kart , especially on the thumbs, I think games like that feel better on a swivel stick, I’ve preferred a swivel stick to move since it was introduced to the wii u, the switch improved it and the one on the 2DS XL feels nice too I was going to get the 3DS myself but the 2DS XL worked out better price wise and I wasn’t too bother about the 3D mode, my sister got the normal 2DS that doesn’t fold and as good as it is I still prefer it to be foldable as you can hold it better and angle the screen as you like and the screen is a bit too small for my liking

Depends where you're from but I buy my consoles from either mercari or ebay. Offerup if you want to pick it up locally, might find deals that way. Mercari has a bargaining system. And ebay has bids that normally come out paying less than a buy now listing. If you plan to add custom firmware, you can always get one from japan bids, they're pretty affordable. Though if you flash english on it, you probably won't be able to use the eshop anymore.
How do you make your DS region free? My brother got me the Japanese copies of Pokemon Black and White and I really want to play them, but I can't due to the fact that all my DS/3DS devices are USA region locked.
I bought one for $40, it came with 2 games. I love playing the harvest moon/story of seasons games on it. The switch is more updated though, but if you want to try old games, its cute still.
@@User_555_-___ It depends on your budget. Its definitely easier to buy a second hand 2ds than a switch. Switch games can be pricey, main games almost never go on sale. And the 3ds has a great library of games to choose from.
