    • @JohnVanderbeck
      @JohnVanderbeck 2 года назад

      I love my MFT/3 but honestly as I've learned more, if I was to do it again I would just make my own dog holed table and use that with accessories. While the MFT/3 is nice, all those attachments for the rail and stop take up a LOT of the table's space AND make it hard to push into a corner when not in use because they hang so far off the table. If you have a big shop with lots of room then it fits in nice but and IS very useful for crosscuts, but if space is at a premium it's tricky.

    Another great one Sedge! Wondering I'm setting up my Festool shop and have 1 MFT basic with Bench dogs fence. I'm considering to purchase another MFT or get 2 of the MW1000 extensions tables having one on either side. Essentially I want to combine a table for crosscuts and ripping down sheets. Tired of the floor method to rip sheets and not wanting too do saw horses. Any thoughts?

    I'm enjoying your videos, thanks for posting them. A quick comment on the accuracy of the table/holes/dogs: Those Veritas dogs are NOT all the same dimensions. I have 4 of them, all purchased at the same time. Three are close enough to be matches but the third is completely off. First, the dimension from the flat face to the opposite side varies by at least .03mm from bottom (cloest to the bench) to the top on all of mine. The oddball piece is .2mm undersized compared to the other 3. Across the length of the table that difference is the thickness of a piece of paper so not really significant but it is detectable.

    What's the minimum thickness needed for the right angle to set the MFT up like this? Woodpecker and TSO squares are basically sold out everywhere here, so I need to get an alternative. So basically what I'm asking is, how thick is the long rail with the stop on it? 😁
