Two days after my uncle and aunt who reside in Montgomery got married. And you posted it on their anniversary. That's also the day my uncle went in to have heart surgery. He did so well and then he had a stroke and passed away. Miss him terribly

His wife was my librarian when I was a child @ Highland Avenue Elementary school in Montgomery. I absolutely loved her and she was always smiling and sweet.

Lumpkin lived on my street. I was 17 in 1979. He was a Hero in the black community. You did not see many blacks on live T.V. in 1979 unless you played for Alabama and Auburn football.

Mack Cormack ended up working the weekends on WAKA-TV back in the 90s.
Norman Lumpkin ended up working at WHOA (now WNCF) as well too.

Mack also worked at WKAB and was involved in one of their first attempts at launching a newscast in 1986.

@@jwgreek8606 I recently found that out. He definitely was an icon in Montgomery market. They definitely tried numerous times to get Channel 32 a contender. WCOV[during CBS era] had more of chance than 32. That awesome.

The man promoting the night's lineup was meteorologist Dan Atkinson who recently passed away.

I got to meet Dan Atkinson at the creative enterprises picnic back in October, 1992.

WESH 2 used the opening theme as well.
I remember Norman Lumpkin anchoring at TV-32 during the late 90s.
