- Today we are in a very special place, Dinorwig Quarry was once the beating heart of a thriving slate industry, it now stands mostly abandoned apart from a very interesting feature hidden deep inside the mountain which gives it it's nickname, Electric Mountain.

Exploring the dilapidated ruins of civilisation, abandoned untouched millionaire mansions, secret underground bunkers, derelict industrial factories and abandoned theme parks. We're not serious urban explorers, if you can't tell, so don't expect a history documentary packed with valuable information. Instead expect 3 down to earth guys exploring abandoned places. Urban Exploration is not for kiddies. Be safe whilst exploring.
We know this is a little different to our usual drivel so all feedback welcome, god bless...
You 3 could be picking up dog shit and it would be watchable ! Feedback on this content .... amazing !
Great video, the voiceover worked really well.
fan fucking tastic pissing my self laughing as always
You three🐉🐲🐉 need to check out Paul Cook's channel.. PS Wales has the best flag!
@@dontgothere4392 might try that one
I am so glad I accidentally stumbled upon this channel. With so many other caving/exploration channels that script ever second of their video.
This channel is quite refreshing. You can just tell how much genuine fun these guys are having. Been binging this channel a solid week now.
Right. Add some fog and the lake that looks like a toxic dump reminds me of the muddy lake from “Never Ending Story,” when Atreyu lost his horse in the mud…poor Artax. I’ve been watching you guys for a really long time. I look forward to your videos every week. I like urban exploring however I dislike most of the urbex vids out there right now except for you guys and the proper people. Like the proper people, I’m from FL. where a big hill excites us. So vids like this are amazing to those us living in the flat penis of the U.S. I love that you guys don’t take yourselves so seriously and don’t use Clickbait and all that other bs that other urbex users do. Thank you for keeping it real! You make exploring fun with lots of laughter which I think a lot of people need right now in this world. I tell so many people I know how great you guys are. P.S. can you let Al know that while it’s totally OK for a male to wear nail polish these days, I would suggest he stick with the matte nail polish.
We are being consumed by the nothing 😢
I liked the narration, felt like I was back in school and Mark was giving us a presentation.
Good stuff lads!
There will be a test tomorrow!
haha DD trust you to say this
The editing, commentary and visuals are amazing in this video. You guys keep out doing yourselves. This is great work 🙏🏼
We had the same situation here in the US, in West Virginia, with the coal industry. They paid the people in what they called "script." My maternal grandfather worked in this corrupt system, as I believe it went on until the 1950/60's. You could only spend it at the company store, which inspired the classic bluegrass/country song "I sold my soul to the company store." It was set up to make sure that the people always owed the company, as the pay never covered even necessities. So, a modern corrupt and brutal form of indentured servitude. I have read that Walmart still operates this same system in their Mexican stores, so the problem is still very REAL! Thanks for mentioning this subject, as I rarely hear it mentioned.
6.39 where the sheep graffiti says “danger lurkers” is very accurate lol…. Loving the voice over Mark.
Al: "look at this. how cute, Martin + Amy forever."
Norton: "well they're both dead now, so let's move on."
Spat my drink out laughing!
Love this format, a mix of the old sarcastic banter, great shots and an IKS Exploration cameo with added commentary and chapters. Keep up the good work!
Agree
Great video as always chaps! Like the narrative and great cameo from IKS. Found it very interesting as I used to work for National Grid but never got to visit electric mountain. Its still very much used for spikes in energy demand, did you know that when they say these spikes are because everyone is putting the kettle is actually BS. It's when people are going to the khazi and the water providers have to turn all the pumps on but putting the kettle on sounds better.
Yes but putting the kettle on and drinking tea and coffee causes people to drop turds and tinkle. I however never flush, I just go in the kitchen sink or the garden or even in the bath to save water. I just push any pieces left over down the drain using my toes and then hose them off with the shower head. My wife has no idea.
Great video guys, so glad you explored in that mine near the waterfall, I always wanted to know what was down there, and I’ve never seen anyone even mention it in all the videos I’ve seen on this place. I wanted to go down there when I visited a few months ago, but had already spent 9 hours exploring and it was getting dark. Such a huge and amazing place to explore, you could literally spend days there and always find new things.
This one had my bum clenched and my toes curled 😬
Loved the narrating Mark, belter video altogether. Stay mental 😘
Loving the commentary 😂. It was a tad drier when I was near there a month ago, only just though. One does enjoy your videos, highly entertaining.. 😁👌
Thank you for respecting the history of the mining communities, it's really appreciated. Subscribed 😊
Goats and slate what more does a man need ? Great entertainment lads thanks for your vids . I had mates like you lot when I was a kid , the ones I was told to keep away from by my mam. Lol.
Absolutely love this format ❤️ always ready for a new adventure with you boys ✌️❤️
The serious narration was great and had me laughing. I throughly enjoyed this!
Sweet as!!! More Dinorwig exploration. Love it lads...don't every change your style of irreverent approach and good sense of humour. I'll love to visit the old country one day. Cheers from Australia
Saulk Slate... Nice.
This is the slate that used to be used for roofing tiles in old houses.
Also known as Jett slate... Or Worked Slate.
And yes I know Im.a proverbial well of useless information.
So beautiful .
Thanks for the video guys.
I have nt had a telly for 2 years - I don t miss it
Same here, no TV for over 10 years. I want to watch quality documentaries and specific subjects I enjoy and not celebrity game show crap. RUclips has replaced TV
I really like the narration from Mr Lloyd. All round top class video.
I spent three summers on Angelsey, my uncle was the main tunnel designer for the Hydroelectric Power Station.
Also when I looked into Vortigern and Arthur Legends Snowden is the ex-volcano the Ring got thrown into.
Vortigern's Tower was south of Snowdonia, this tower is mentioned in Nennius's work, Count St Germaine went to this tower when he'd heard Vortigern had married his own daughter, St Germaine demanded court with Vortigern, Vortigern refused court several days in a row, St Germaine then told locals not to look towards the tower at night, at 3 minutes past 3am there was a blinding flash in the sky, the Tower and all inside were no more.
You guys are crazy! good videos but that looked so dangerous especially with all slate around you. I'm glad there were no accidents and that you made it out after exploring. Looking forward to the next video. Take care guys, stay safe.
I bet myself Norton would have a beard again on the third day! Did NOT disappoint! Well done fellas!
The added narration was awesome!! Honestly I saw the video was up and said, eh, maybe ill watch later. I clicked to watch a few seconds then couldn't stop watching. Good stuff!! 👏👏👏👏💖💖
What a crazy jagged place. It would be so easy to get cut if your not carful! Beautiful scenery guys.
You guys cheer me up with your extreme adventures and banter 👍 Thank you.
Loved it lads awesome camera work with the drone ......I was hoping you'd get to the end of that tunnel and find Ian and Chris bumming
Love you guys! Great explore and excellent off camera commentary added. Well done!✌
That was one of your best one's yet, you guys are awesome.
Great video, I thought the new commentary worked well. there is a route know as 'snakes and ladders' that goes up the chain to the hole you spotted. but you would need ropes as there is some abseiling involved.
One of my favourite places to explore, should of gone to the hidden quarry and old bomb store the other side of the lake aswell
Loved the "Documentary" style of this one. It was still so on brand for you all. Little serious, little tongue in cheek. Great narration, Lloyd!
This weekend I was camping in the Badlands National Park in South Dakota USA! THAT was f'ing BAD ASS!!
12:47 they filmed “clash of the titans” in that spot few films been filmed here. Stunning place, always find something new
What an entrance to this video. Its up their with your best. Great camo from IKS. The drone shots are brilliant.
Guys one of the funniest videos in a while. Epic!! Love the voice over this should be permanent. Up the doggers!
Great video boys, ..awesome descriptions of how pumped storage hydro works. I live near one in the southern Missouri mountains called Taum Sauk Resoivoir but it's not nearly as scenic as your Electric Mountain! I have a dream to visit Wales before I die, thanks so much for bringing me along on a great 3 day adventure. Peace! Up The HOE!!
Great video as always guys keep up the great content 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Always good to catch a new video from you gents, much love.👊✌️
Now every time i hear the word crevasse , I'll think of You guys. Seriously, that was an awesome video . Norton your my fave, such a great sense of humor, and cute
Favorite time of the week xxx
Absolutely brilliant! Loved your video, was so funny with your humour, just what i live for on Tuesdays. Great commentary and scary hights. One of my very favourites 😍 ❤️

Loving the commentary all the way through!😆 brilliant vlog!
banging watching, chaps. Keep up the good work. the narration is hilarious...laugh out loud funny at times. Nortons' back needs the exercise lol.. Do more like this, thanks.
Funking hell! the more I see you guys do videos in Wales the more apparent it is how extensive the place was mined!
new subscriber 😁 great video's and entertaining as well as informative, keep it going guy's 👍👍👍
Great instalment, jeez my arse and ankles were messed up seeing you all peering over those drops 😱, love these type of explores .
Really enjoyed this one. Loved the narration.
"oh look, some kind of....thing" LMFAO! That place looks really cool.
Hey, I'm grateful to you guyz and the execellent photography. Never would have believed such a place existed in Wales! Here in Mid-Michigan, USA.
Lloydy put alot of sweat, fanny and naration into this fkn awesome
Cracking video chaps! Commentary was very cool. Very different from the usual, but I was glued!
I really liked the narration from Mark there, at the beginning it set up the video nicely 😊👍
'get as high as we can ' is always the best plan.
At the part of 'Did you ever imagine that you're a bird' you should cut in a Monty Python type of imagery the way Terry Gilliam did. A giant cartoon foot pushing a little man off the mountain. Look up Terry Gilliam, 'The Miracle of Flight' for inspiration and many laughs. The part of the Flight video with the King on top of a mountain sitting on his throne is what came to mind. This is a RUclips video so you'll have no problem finding it.
Just here to say you passed the audition, Lloydie. Official successor to David Attenborough sorted. Well done as always lads, will leave a fab rating on Yelp
Absolutely brilliant video, my lovely`s xxxx It was just missing a head urinating mountain lobster! :)))))
Fantastico another stunning show lads Comentry was fab 😜👍
Really liked this format!
Finally watched this one. Loving the commentary 🤘 more of this please. Also didn’t even know about this place. This is now on my list of places to visit along with the Porth Wen Brickworks that you guys visited.
So good you guys try different ways on how to shoot your vids 😁
Loved it. But then I love all your content.
Very interesting place, great views n scenery barring the sewage works!😁🤣🤣, I'm surprised Kurt wasn't with you?🤔 had to settle for IKS instead!😏🤭, amazing video thanks geezers!😜✌
1:16 what the hell is lloydie doing with his face?? 🤣🤣
Was anybody else shouting at the TV 📺 saying "wat the hell ...don't go down there!" Another great episode thanks guys 😅
how did you get that face
@@dylanjordan4747 i think its a member's badge for donating
Yes yes lads, looking forward to this one. Narration is funny AF from the start 🤣🤣
no way would i be climbing down there ... so glad youre all brave enough so i can just watch :)
Absolutely fascinating. I've missed you guys! 💋
Loving this video awesome
I've been here, I'm surprised the slate mines of Wales aren't used for more fantasy and science fiction movies.
Who knew it just took a ponytail for Norton to look like Norton again
This must be old or his hair grows extremely fast🤔
Liking the new format 👍
Loving the voice over but it's so funny trying to listen to lloydy being all serious 🤣
The commentary is really cool 😎
You guys should try the opposite side of the valley there's an old arms depot partially buried in an old slate quarry - apparently it was still in use up to the 70's and even until recently a lot of locals didn't know of it's existence.
Check it out 53deg 12723 min North 4deg 13802 min
Really love this style!!!!
Spectacular flik boyos. 🖤🏴🖤
Nice vid guys, now that's exploring 😆
Was that not a Banksy painting on the cave wall depicting the guys and boys that worked there?...🤔
I love yalls commentary lmfao definitely the two favorite lines were ( don't you wish you were a bird so you could just fly) & (Oh look mark & Amy forever how cute well their dead now let's continue exploring 🤣
Loving this lads
You guys each give 33% genius to each and every video you make! As a collective putting out the best content in the entire world! Just all round light hearted comedy! Keep up the good work, I hope RUclips makes you billions!!
That place really does look like Mordor in The Lord of the rings. I love the way those big chunks of stone or shale that broke off from the entrance you were in where broken in such a way like they were perfectly cut square blocks. If you look at the evidence from hangman 1128 channel he speaks about giant trees and how they break apart and turn to Stone. Both rocks look like what's left over from a giant tree.
The movies "Willow" and 'The keep' were partially filmed in the quarry.
I dig your Misfits Bandana Norton! Day 2 was bloom'n nasty! Always a pleasure gentlemen! Right On 💪
Loved this ❤️
I love this. This is like Monty Python and the holy Grail extended scenes.
A great exploration 👍
Norton i love your hair🙂 I loved this explore really awesome
Hi guys! This video was great! You guys are so funny! You put a smile on my face. Keep your video’s coming. I really enjoy them.
RN4L
Loved the whole thing. Narrative humour great footage. What's not to like ? Love you guys. You lift my mood and make me laugh 😂
Have you thought about taking climbing stuff with you. Would make it easier 🤔🤣🤣
Love you guys x
RIP Martin and Amy LMFAO You guys make my day even if i've see it before 🍻🍻🍻
I liked the commentary. Where did Norton pull 'slimier then an ice cream man's leg from ' ?!
An amazing video to play the pin game. Anglesey Baracks was an easy one to pin and i think i found the tunnels, but i struggled to find the waterfall. I blame Ian :P lol
IKS Lloydy with the voiceover, love it 👌🏻
This is what happens when the dwarves ventured into Mordor after it collapsed looking to see what was worth mining or selling. Or in Norton's case, Vikings.
7:30) It's the Dimholt Road, The Path of the Dead!
12:52) The Watcher in the water.
And finally, you were in Wales, why didn't you invite Kurt?
Wow I live in wales and I never new where those houses are . but I have seen them on videos from time to time .. all that Welsh slate just laying around is madness seems it cost a fortune to actually buy it 😂cool video guys very interesting place with a lot of history
Thank you very much for videos
