Thanks for keeping these amazing historical facts coming! Today's kids are being taught nothing of it, at least in America. Very sad what our country has been allowed to become.
This is an absolutely stunning story. I would really love to see this fictionalized and turned into a film project or Netflix series. No idea how they’d recreate the shattered hellscape of Berlin’s infamous architecture. But by using these maverick journos as protagonists, it really would be a novel way of creating a focal point to depict the fall of Berlin in a cinematic way. Thanks for sharing this episode. Fascinating stuff.
Holy crap this is a great idea. Would also like to see perhaps another correspondant who is in the city right before the fall when everyone is drunk knowing the impending doom is coming. A dipiction of the berlin philharmonic where cyanide was handed out by the youth would be crazy. Always thought the fall of Berlin would be a grand scale epic romantic tragady.
Germany gave the New World Order a hell of a fight, but ultimately their supplies were exhausted fighting in places like Stalingrad. The Axis powers were ultimately undone by the Yanks once again.

Imagine how much work Mark Felton does for the 5-10min videos and then think of a teacher doing 5-6 lessons a day, each an hour long, imagine how much prep they need to do for each lesson and how much subject matter they need to teach, much of which is not that interesting, but is part of the syllabus, but they still have to engage the students. Imagine how much time teachers spend preparing for these lessons, marking the homework, helping students, and they dont get paid any more for it. A good teacher puts in more hours than Felton does on these videos, but the difficulty of the job is why so many teachers leave, and why many fail. Take this video, its about a niche action in the war, some reporters getting into Berlin, it teaches us nothing significant about the war, its good entertainment, but its not essential learning.
Imagine how terrifying it must have been to have been a German soldier or volksstrum member being surrounded by battle-hardened Russian troops. I bet a lot of them were privately cursing Hitler.

They acted no different, General Patton comments on how vile they are/were.
@@VictoryOrValhalla14 Patton himself was pretty vile as well... so he'd know. XD
@@planescaped how so ? He exposed the real enemy and died because of it. Have you ever read what he wrote ? Or are you just regurgitating nonsense because he slapped a coward ?
@@VictoryOrValhalla14 Today they would be on Hitler's/Stalin's side. Journolisters would not allow an Ernie Pyle to be amongst their ranks.
I don’t know if it was only my unit but we had combat cameramen attached to us from JSOC who would take photos of us in combat and classified photos of terminated HVT’s or EKIA.
They were not affiliated with MSM.
Good videos keep it up
Absolutely fascinating account of yet another forgotten vignette of history. Thanks again, Mark.
Mark Felton videos are a 100% guaranteed watch from me. They are the only content I download for offline viewing.
Filipino fan here. Your WW2 videos are so great and entertaining to watch plus your voice really adds to the greatness of it all. I remember hearing your voice mostly in History Channel if I'm not mistaken. Keep doing the great vids. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you Mr. Felton for continuing to put out such great historical WW2 content! My Grandfather fought in Germany in WW2 and was with the troops of the Rainbow Division when they went into Dauchau on April 29th 1945!
I remember as a young boy the stories he would share with me when I was able to pry them out of him, looking back I know he never liked talking about them, but I was his 1st grandchild and he was my hero then and always!
Thanks for keeping these amazing historical facts coming! Today's kids are being taught nothing of it, at least in America. Very sad what our country has been allowed to become.
Whenever Mark Felton uploads, it makes my day. Thanks Mark. 👍
Never surprises me to see Mark's vast array of work to be so successful. Very interesting, great work!
What a amazing story! Thank you Dr. Felton
Mark Felton is THE one gonna fill the blanks in most pages of history book.
Thank you Mark for another great video, I was worried yesterday checking my notifications all day.
Another Mark Felton video, LET’S GOOOO!
Always brightens my day! 😀
The Axis powers were ultimately undone by the Yanks once again.
every night while eating dinner i put on my headset and watch your videos, best i have ever seen learn new history everytime, , LOVE IT keep up they great work
Great video a lot of great information
Thanks Mark for bringing this long forgotten story to light.
How this man continues to surprise us with interesting unknown WW2 facts is beyond me. I honestly thought I had heard them all. We salute you Dr Felton.
Perhaps he is able to read (or translate) something else but English.
God, you always cover the most interesting stuff. Made the pandemic a more tolerable learning experience....
Dr Mark Felton, our favourite historian on RUclips. Every video is just sheer quality and massively interesting.
You tell these remarkable and obscure stories in a manner which makes me feel like you were there. I love sharing these stories with friends.
This channel never fails to deliver. Who knew this before? Well done.
I learn more about our true history on YT or TT than I ever did in school! Thanks Mark for your content.
I second Adriel Sebastian - consistently amazing hidden nuggets, keep them coming Doc
Just hope RUclips are paying him well because he deserves it. Better documentary’s than you get from TV highly recommend. 🇬🇧👍👍👍👍👍
Love your channel and research Mark.
These News correspondents made more of a push to Berlin than Steiner did.....
Running into the scariest, most dangerous place on Earth with only a camera.....balls
Looks like I am going watching this while I work out.
This channel's content is something we can't buy easily....
Great video. Respect from Niagara 🇨🇦
How interesting, and terrifying, it must have been to be in Berlin in those final days. Fascinating story once again Mr Felton!
Apologies, I should have said "Dr" Felton!
Imagine how terrifying it must have been to have been a German soldier or volksstrum member being surrounded by battle-hardened Russian troops. I bet a lot of them were privately cursing Hitler.
you deserve a show
Thank you. I was stationed in Berlin (1970.) I'm always interested in Berlin; this was a new story for me. I also enjoy your other productions.
Always interesting, thank you.
Again, Thanks Mark
Thank you Mark, you help me indulge in my love of history regularly. Despite a BA in History min. Mil history, you constantly provide new insight into a conflict i’ve been trying to fully grasp since I was old enough to understand what my great grandfather was apart of. I am fulfilled by your work and I hope you are as well.
Im being interested in WWII History because of this Channel,
Keep it up.
- From Philippines 🇵🇭
The Philippine people have enough WW2 stories for their own channel. A very brave and tough people..
I look forward to more Mark Felton stories based in the Philippines too.

We Germans too Hahaha
@@kayvan671 That's a fact. lol
In a world full of horrid "professional" journalism and cheap sensationalism, I absolutely love your docs, thank you thank you thank you!
History like you won't get it anywhere else! You're amazing Mark Felton.
His voice is so calm sometimes I watch it just so I can sleep 😅♥️
