    My mom told me I said the same thing when I was really young. That's a weird thing for so many kids to slip into, linguistically speaking. I can understand not being able to do blends (T-r) but the F sound is more difficult than a plosive, so why wouldn't they be saying "Firetuck" or something... But this is super common with English speaking kids. Maybe it's the repetition of the sound?

      @Mario mama is a nasal. baba is a plosive. F is easier than Tr, but not easier than B or P or T (which was already part of the sound) or D.
      Fricatives are harder than plosives (f, v, s, z, etc) and that's true whether it's an English f or the easier (for a young child, anyhow) ɸ sound.
      Doesn't sound like he says f or ɸ every time, though. Kind of sounds like a soft p, which would actually be easier to say.

      Yes, I bet the kid somehow understands if he says the F word, the reaction of other people would be more fun to watch.
